I got my Hohm Wrecker G2 yesterday and it works beautifully with the DC Dry Herb. I can't claim to know how some of the settings work (to be fair I don't think hohmtech has either) but the mod performs. 2 x 18650, all metal, and goes up to 171w with the latest firmware. I got some Hohmtech batteries as well called Hohm Work. They have some wacky specs. 40.6A 2531mah. They are "upgraded" LG HG2's apparently. Whatever. They work.

There are a tons of features but only 2 (so far) apply to the DC Dry Herb.

Auto+TC mode which basically automates the watts based on the atty/battery/metal which is configured/retained when you attach the atty. Low/Medium/High settings. Low saves battery, Medium is power while saving some battery, High doesn't care about the battery.

xXx mode is where you set watts/temp and curve yourself. xXx = any metal. They call TCR an FSK curve which is set by percentage. Their suggestion is in xXX mode use 50% and adjust to liking. Still have to play with this. I used 50% and 40% but didn't notice much difference.

Test #1. xXx mode (Manual Temp/Watts/TCR). 35w/370/50% & 40%. Works beautifully. Hits temp almost instantly and produces lots of flavorful vapor. No issues at all.

Test #2. Auto+TC mode. Set the temp and the Auto TC level. I had this set to medium @ 370. It hit like a truck. I need to experiment with this one some more.

Lots of testing to do but it worked very well the first try. I ripped it out of the package and fumbled my way through the menus when I did this.

All vape, no smoke please.
:leaf: High guise....

Lots of interesting posts as usual. Maybe I'll get around to responding to a few of them later, but I just want to drop this little DT nugget for now. I spent a few days in Tahoe this week and various DT donuts kept me toasty on the insides whilst out in the snow.

You can't really see my little BB of shatter on this donut, but you can see it's been used. (maybe I shoulda used the camera's flash)

I don't think anyone should be surprised, but this little donut excursion further proved to me how versatile, serviceable, and reliable the new v3.0s are, including under 'field conditions'

I puffed on donuts, as well as re-loaded and stirred reclaim bowls with my compact tools several times in places such as:

 • the mountainside
 • inside the casino / poker room
 • inside and around the ice rink / ski resorts
 • the hotel room (duh haha)
Everywhere DT donuts went and were used, no one seemed to notice or care that I was vaping on a little box and cylinder, or that I was meticulously poking at it with a small needle or manipulating a little dark blob on to it. :shrug:NBD. Maybe people thought I was using a rebuildable "drip" atomizer :brow:

Only one occasion, a young dude sitting right next to me at the poker table, who saw me messing with my evic basic, donut and tools many times during a long session, asked me "is that tobacco?" - NOPE! i replied ;) "Nice!" he said. End of discussion.

I don't want to draw attention to myself, but neither do I want to hide in the shadows, or be confined to some crappy smokers' section, like in the old combusto-days. The fact that other people are walking around using devices that appear similar to layman's eyes helps alot.

Also, the TC mod + DT fell out of my pocket when I was ice skating and it became encased in slush, but I promptly picked it up, wiped it off and dried it off with my shirt and piffed it - *BOOM* it puffed fine like nothing had just happened

And regarding tools and mobile setups, here's how I handled that when out n about.

DA2jiJS.jpg

This whole pack can fit in a jacket pocket. The little metal tin is a "joint holder" (for the most pinner-est, tooth-pickiest of joints?) which works well to hold a little needle or dab tool, it can get oily and dirty as it inevitably will, but you can fold it up and don't have to clean it after use, and put it in your linty pocket and not have to worry about fuzz getting on your oily tools. You can wipe it clean with an alcohol pad after every use, if that's your thing, but you don't have to if you do something like this.

Also, that little glass vial, I just found at a little vape shop. I think it's officially intended for "snus" (coke? :\) but I like how it comes with the metal tool that's attached as 1 piece with the cap, and that part screws into the glass vial. I use that tool to break off or "scoop" a piece of shatter or crumble, then transfer that to the sticky needle, then onto the donut. Then I just screw the scooper back to the vial and don't have to worry about lint getting on it, don't have to wipe it clean. It's not as precise or elaborate as my at-home set of dab tools, but it gets-er-DUN.

Hey guys I have a target mini 40W battery (similar to eleaf istick 40W but smaller) for my white DT V3 and I was wondering how do I clean my preinstalled large donut and at what temperature settings/wattage? I cannot set my watts for temperature it is preset at 40W.

I have one of those little mods too, and like @Bad Ocelot 's old COV minivolt, my target mini is little more than an ohm-meter and 'donut-burning-clean-in-VW-mode' mod. By that I mean, it is a crappy, useless little mod to me now, unfit for donut use in TC modes, IMO.

Why do I say that? I've used it with the v2.5 / v3.0 (with the old, low-TCR large donut) and I've tried to measure it's actual surface temps with the IR thermometer gun. Using @fernand 's emissivity @ 0.65, and the mod set to TCR 190, 280F, (which is the minimum, why 280F? Every other mod lets you do 200F / 100C) , I see measurements spike to well over 500F ! :o And not just a quick spike, it stays there, hovering well over 400F for most of the hit until it tapers off after 10 seconds. This basically means this mod has a useless, meaningless TC function, IMO. Using any TCR or temp setting doesn't improve the results much. Even if you could set the watts, it appears to sample and/or process feedback from the atomizer so slowly, that it will BURN your oil every single time in TC, no matter the settings. So unless you like hot, burnt hits over which you have no control, and you want a true performing tiny TC mod, I'd go with the evic basic. The target mini is by far the WURST TC mod I've ever used, even worse than the artery nugget or istick 40w, which is saying alot.

But if you must use this mod for now, I'd recommend using it in wattage mode. I've found you can burn clean the 10mm medium donuts with as little as 10w (not 17w, @OF :p) and the older large donuts can burn clean with 14 watts. You can burn it clean with more power, but you run the risk of busting the donut, and you must feather the button quicker and with great prudence. Burning clean at a lower watts, you have to hold the button down longer to get it 100% white, but I think this is gentler on the donut and can prolong it's serviceable life.

And if you can burn them clean at 10 / 14 w, you can probably set it for vaping in watts mode around 12-16w or so, for medium and large donuts, or a little bit more, but you might wanna consult the VW guys with that.

[QUOTE=" I did it again & watched carefully & it begins to reduce wattage just before it hits the target as well. This further supports my (somewhat) educated guess that you can benefit from TC mode without actually hitting the target. Has anyone else noticed this on Joyetech or other mods with TCR that we've been using?
I have been saying something pretty similar for the past few pages. I actually exclusively use tcr temp Control in that way. I only reach temp protection maybe at the end of my hit. For the new large squiggly donuts, I have been using tcr 640!!! With 21w at 420F. Whew are my hits smooth and massive. I have 1 original large donut left and I get the same results (maybe a hit warmer) at tcr 300 with 21w at 420F. The original donut at tcr 300 hits like a dab rig. Both barely hits temp protection, but is clearly not performing the same as if it were 21w in power mode. For me, having the donut barely barely glowing, will produce my most desired vapor. Tc will keep the donut barely glowing and heat will not exponentially increase with every button press as it does in power mode

My lil Divine Tribe Portable Potables:-) on the go set up. The 2 white are locked and loaded 2.7s with bb sizes preloaded along with the black V3 loaded as well. I don't like the black V3 much with the white pico but that's all that was available. Now I can have what I need when it's an few hour outing !

Dang, I really need to get a curse control for my car, what with all the expletives and small children lol
Yeah, I misspelled it, but you seem to have understood anyway? It's been pointed out already as you know......

This is, I think, my second (or perhaps third) such typo. Perhaps I'm dyslexic, maybe my finger get going faster than my brain (not hard to do....). I make a considerable effort to explain things in what I hope are appropriate terms, but make mistakes like most folks. I'm glad they're small, but am sorry they happen. of course. And hopefully don't detract from the base idea of 'splaing stuff.

As for controlling the language of the passengers in your car, I haven't a clue.

I've been using the DC dry herb frequently with an evic VTC mini. You mentioned some problems with the mouthpiece getting clogged in your previous post. I found plugging the top with a pipe screen really helps the DC vape herb more evenly and I haven't had a problem with clogging sense. I get a lot of use out of a single bowl too now, it seems.

does anyone know why none of the donuts will
work on the artery nugget 2 battery mod?..

this company was really cool, their thermovape cera is what gave me the inspiration for my products
https://techcrunch.com/2012/08/11/techcrunch-makers-inside-the-thermovape-factory/

I think this is two parts? The first is 'the Artery Nugget mod won't heat DT doughnuts'? I don't have one but if I read this right, that's strange indeed. They don't heat, even in VW or VV mode? Does the mod 'recognize' the load (that is does it make solid contact and show a resistance? In the past I've seen some 510 connector issues, seems the standard isn't all that standard?

Anyway, please confirm that my understanding is correct here, that known good DT carts don't heat in any reasonable mode......and if it senses resistance correctly? TIA.

On the topic of Thermovape, I agree, a great in innovative outfit indeed. A true loss to the industry and us (customers with money to spend). Very solid, basic designs expertly exicuted. They (Noah and Nate) understood the Science and Engineering involved to a great depth. Designed from the start to be producible (round parts made on automated machines quickly, cheaply and in huge volumes (15,000 piece runs were minimum) overnight to amazing tolerances. Absolute attention to materials and made with all US materials and labor (a serious problem WRT switches and other buy out parts.

With luck and fair winds I'm optimistic about a rebirth of sorts. IMO the DT/DC attys are already part way there........and the ball's in play.

I've gotta get one of these. Nothing helps get through the day like a pen pull.

If normal vape pens are your standard, then you really should get on board. You're in for a serious treat. Many times the volume of vapor on demand and the TC mode means no more burned oil. Power is not a compromise any more since hitting it hard simply makes it run the power up automatically to hold the magic temperature.......and back down when you end the hit so it can't get too hot.

It can set your chickens free.....with any luck will. I feel safe saying 'nobody goes back'.

Merry Christmas to all.

Thanks! Been using a Source Orb 3 for a year. I run the ceramic donut 99% of the time as I prefer the flavor and how the oil resists burning and carbonizing like the wicks. But it's totally underpowered @4.8v and depending on the concentrates consistency, somewhat difficult to load. I've been reading this thread for a bit, along with the other most popular pens in this section. The Yocan Torch does look pretty interesting, but this one seems like the "real deal." I love the compactness of a pen setup. I live in an apartment and don't like all the gear laying around. I recently even unplugged the trusty Volcano. I keep the Air and Vapcap and Source all in a little holiday tin. Everything is out of sight, out of mind but also ready to roll!

What I'm hoping for is a more nail-like experience. Does this deliver in that regard, or am I lucid?

Not sure how it sounds to others, but I hear you........ We're prolly both crazy?

Not to worry, it's going to impress. No less a sage than our own @SameOldTim gives it his "Official Okey Dokey":
http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/divine-tribe-attys.14455/page-97#post-1057410

In case you don't know him, Tim is kinda brave with this stuff. He was in on the development and testing of the TV products, including what many consider the benchmark Cera EO Core. V3 won't compete well with nails when push comes to shove it is going to be head and shoulders above vape pens running a small fraction of it's power with no temperature control.

I understand the loading vape pens issue, trust me that's not happening here.

Try it, you'll like it. You might consider ordering a V 2.5/2.7 as well. IMO it's still a very powerful performer and can be less fussy to load. Still serious vapor potential.

Best wishes for a Merry Christmas to one and all.

@invertedisdead if you mean like a Ti Nail with torch, that's a little different. With the nail you're dropping oil on a surface that's hot enough to sublimate it, the only reason it doesn't burn is because it don't have time to. With a donut the load is already in place as the temp races up (at the rate set by the Wattage limit). When it hits target temp it backs off and regulates to stay there. The advantage is you can stay at temp and keep boiling it off without decomposing it. There are enough adjustments available on the modern Temp Control mods for most dabbers to find a sweet spot, but as @OF says, it's not as ... nukular as a hardcore nail. It's a very good idea to get a 2.5 as well as a 3.0. And I would suggest a Pyrex cap at least for the 2.5 so you can watch the action. There are pyrex water tool connectors coming out for the 3.0, but I don't know if he has any in stock.

WE got the hydratubes made shorter the should be available in 10 days
8a6fd7060c.jpg

Typing this one handed so I can keep fingers crossed on the other these will be available soon. To press my luck a bit, my next (lame?) suggestion is the same thing sized to fit the V2.5 atty........

I'm sure enjoying my test adapter (about an inch longer) and hope to get a spare or two in hand before disaster strikes (sure to break in a fall accident) or Ataxian comes over........ Too neat to be without.

Thanks again for making it happen. An all to rare treat in this industry.

Merry Christmas to all.

Great info @fernand @OF you guys make this easy!
Glad to help when I can.....and I suspect I speak for the Brother.

But this is the easy (fairly objective) part. Getting it up and running and pointed the right way. Ahead is the really demanding part, finding the ideal technique for you personally. And, Grasshopper, that's a journey you must make alone.

Well, OK, you can contact us through the forum. If you're nice. And pay your bill, of course.

A couple questions: What's shipping now with orders? Low or Hi resistance large donuts? Medium donut with revised cup? A large revised cup?

So I've been testing out the newer, higher resistance large donuts and I think I prefer the lower resistance ones. It may be because I've been using those for a while & have gotten them dialed in a little better. It seems like I'm getting less airflow, but that could be because a decent amount of wax melted under the donut while I was getting TCR dialed in (Currently using 300, 390-420F, 26-28w on a ~0.6Ω donut). It's working pretty well, but not getting the clouds I was with the ~0.5Ω donuts, further testing may help.

Are there any plans for putting a lip on the large cup like exists on the medium? That really seems to help.

I'm still very pleased with my V3 still. Last night while out of dabs, I grabbed the V3 and have learned that if you tilt it slightly there is a small amount of oil you can vape that doesn't taste bad at all. More like no taste at all. I was able to get nice and medicated. Good to know that's an option when the dabs run out.

So I see the dry herb rebuildable is due out in Jan 2017. Will those atomizers work with the V3? I was hoping I could just buy the atomizers. From the pics it looks like I should be able to, but I don't wanna assume.

@Bad Ocelot if more vapor out of the newer donuts is what you want, may I suggest u try ramping the tcr way up. Please note this will not make you hit temp protection too soon or ever depending on how long you take a rip. I use tcr 700 with 400F at 21w. It needs an initial warmup before vapor starts but when it does, it milks nice and thick to the very end of my minute long draw with only a small bb sized load (even with the large donut). The first load on a fresh donut will not be the rest results. Give these settings a few bowls if you are using it on a clean donut before you count these settings out. Good luck and Merry Christmas all
