Thanks @Roth! Yeah I'm super excited to get them in and add them to the collection. They look like they will pull exactly how I want them too. It is going to be a fun weekend using both of these new bad boys :tup::rockon:

Once Doughboy finishes up a few pieces for me and I get another piece or two from DHgate that I've been eyeing, my collection will finally be finished for now (at least that's what I tell my girlfriend lol ;))

Yeah Cory left a bad taste in my mouth man, i'm extra cautious after that shit. I love my piece, but it's realistically not what I ordered. lol

And to all other replies, thanks! This thread DOES look promising. I'm going to give him a go!
I had a look through 20 or so pages but didn't find much with a lot of worked colour. Interesting in getting something really colourful. Will be messaging him today and discussing, wish me luck!

He has definitely done some more worked and slymed pieces in the past so I'm sure he can do what you want (hopefully lol).

If he can't do it try asking PoopMachine over in the doughboy glass thread. I know Trey can do all worked pieces.

I am also keeping an eye on Doughboy! These two artists seem to be getting some acclaim here on FC!
I love all of the miniature pieces that both these artists do, very funny.. hah
If I was to go with Distilled Glass (looking likely!) what is his signature piece? Is there an area which he excels in above all others? I'd love to get an artist's specialty piece because it helps me remember them! That's why I love my CGD recycler, because I feel as if it's his talent.

Thanks rgrig, haha. I'm at work, but i'll check it out later. How much did it set you back and how much does he charge for custom stuff? (medium-high amount of colour worked into it)

Single clear recyclers are anywhere from $150 - $200. Double clear recycler is about $250

Medium to high amount of color seems to run around $250-$350.

^those are complete guesses based off what others have purchased.

Mike will give you a quote before he starts or you can let him know what your budget is :D

He's definitely a nice guy and a great glass blower!

18mm female Double Vortex with this mouthpiece (neck bending at 45 degree angle) - http://i.imgur.com/rq8YCKq.jpg
HEAVY amount of colour and pattern work in the nebula theme, colours inspired from this (clicky)
Some decorative yet balanced & reasonable glass additions to the piece (horns, tentacles, that type of stuff)
Thick base, mothership style; with a worked pattern or swirl in the base also for added flare.
Also the recycler tube to go all the way down to the bottom for maximum water-flow, as well as the diffusion stem considerably low as well so that the vape passes through more water.

Sound good? ^_^ Hopefully mike is up for the job!

The job's been called off. It would be too difficult to produce, and the nebula theme / mothership base isn't on the cards in terms of his resources. For the best anyway.. $580 AUS would have been outside of my budget anyway (which was his initial quote) but after I gave some more specifications he said it could be a $1400 piece and one that he could only dream of being able to produce. I'll be patient!:(

He does some great work, I love my recycler. When I asked about a colored perc he wasn't too fond of the added difficulty. I think distilled's sweet spot is fairly bare bones scientific recyclers.

Yes and it's gorgeous! He did say that in the coming weeks he will be doing some experimentation soon with colors to achieve nice styles within his comfort zone. I'll put off a major purchase for the time being and be happy with what i've got, but also very interested to see his development as a glassblower. Very friendly guy as well, great communication and very personable.

Just got done talking to Mike about a donut klein. Doughboy was going to make a few of us them before he decided to no longer make pieces for us :(

I sent Mike pictures and asked if he could make one like this for $200-$250 (same price Doughboy was charging). He said "Sure" :D Man of many words lol :tup:

I will post pics once I have some in a week or two!

I'm hoping that if it turns out like the original Doughboy then a few of you will give Mike some more business :D

@BoogerMan fuck yeah dude:clap:. Way to take some initiative in getting the ball rolling again on the custom donut kleins. I was really disappointed in Trey decision to abandon us so hopefully mike can bring my egg cycler to life at a reasonable price. Maybe honey buckets too. I was about to just give up but now there is hope :nod:

Stands at a little under 4 inches tall. 3 hole perc. Just need to play with the nail a bit more find the right time/temp. All in all amazing little piece couldn't be happier.
