I recently got my Miqro and wanted to give some initial impressions in a written format, since most of what I've seen has been in video form. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I'm old fashioned sometimes and don't have a fancy recording rig or editing software, so here goes!

The first thing you can't help but notice is just how tiny the Miqro is. I'd seen videos and reviews online but to actually hold it is just impressive - mostly thanks to using a 18350 battery instead of the more standard but longer 18650. The build quality feels incredibly solid too, as it's components feel weighty and rigid. It sits great in both the hand and in the pocket. Hinges move freely and magnets and doors snap tightly without being a burden to open either the chamber or the mouthpiece/battery compartments.
I will say that it took me a bit of fiddling to figure out the flow of the modes and what all of the readouts on the LED displays did, but the instructions (

Because there's quite a few functions but only 3 buttons, it's worth reading over the instruction manual to make sure you know how to get in and out of Precision Mode. There's a few times where you'll be shown a lot of numbers, like going from Smart Path to Precision Mode will show you the (1) current temperature of the oven, then you press up/down and it will then show you (2) the current set Precision Temperature, and if you keep pressing up or down it will then (3) change the temperature, and finally (4) flash your current Precision temperature. It's a lot of information to take in at first but at this point I understand exactly how to interpret the readout and each mode has its own display style - Smart Path has 4 dots across which blink while heating up; Precision Mode has 4 dots vertically when at temp, showing animated up arrows occasionally interrupted by the current temperature when heating up; Boost/Standby Mode shows animated up/down arrows depending on if you're holding the Control button or not. My advice? Play with the Miqro until you get to this point on your first day and you shouldn't have any problems in the future.
After doing burnoffs and playing with all of the buttons and settings to get an idea of just how to get between the 3 modes (Smart Path, which is the default and starts at a preset temperature and raises 20 degrees over the 5 minute session; Precision Mode, where you choose your own static temperature; and Boost/Standby Mode), I loaded up the chamber about half full, probably 0.10-0.15g, and adjusted the pearl to the right depth so it made an indention in the herb when I closed and reopened the chamber, but was still gentle to close. The pearl is a nice touch from other vaporizers I've tried, reducing the chamber size to make chamber "full" even with a half pack. This really helps with convection since a tighter pack means more contact with the hot walls lending to more efficient extraction and a better use of battery.
Personally I like starting at lower temps to get the most out of my herb, and since Smart Path 1 begins at 350F and goes to 370F I started in Precision Mode at 330F. The flavor was so good and rich while being very cool, an impressive result out of such a tiny device. The draw resistance wasn't too bad either, though I expect that filling the chamber more would have contributed to a higher resistance, though more time will tell with that.
After a few hits at 330F I decided to try Smart Path 1 (350-370) and found that after a stir of the herb everything was a nice golden brown. There was a little bit of green left but it was mostly a nicely even toasting of the herb. Wanting to really try out the Miqro to its full extent, I went for Smart Path 4 (410-430) and found that the vapor wasn't nearly as hot as I expected. I've tried other pen-shaped dry herb vaporizers in the past and on their hottest settings I always felt like I was going to choke on the heat. The Miqro wasn't like this at all, as the mouthpiece stayed warm to hot but not uncomfortable throughout all of these sessions and the vapor was a enjoyable and flavorful experience, even at the highest setting.
After about an hour and a half of playing in menus and taking drags the Miqro finally buzzed to tell me I had 10% left. As a side note, the haptic feedback was really nice. It's noticeable in your hand or from a few feet away that it's buzzed, but certainly nothing like the haptics on the Boundless CFX which are a bit loud for my tastes. It took only about an hour to charge back to full as well, which means that even without using my second battery the downtime between empty and charged really isn't bad. A second battery or a battery pack would solve this issue easily.
I have to say one of the things I was most impressed with was that I never felt like I got
too far gone in these session, which is exactly what I wanted out of the Miqro. Being able to easily microdose was my hope and it seems that DaVinci has been able to do this, as I was able to write a first draft of this First Impressions review and get a lot of thoughts down without the fogginess or "what was I doing again?" that comes with some other heavier hitters like my Sticky Brick Junior. That's not to say that I didn't feel good from the Miqro (far from it), but I feel like it's easy to avoid debilitation with the Miqro. I'm excited to see how this fits into my daily life of chores, writing, research, and gaming.
All in all I think this is going to be exactly what I was hoping for out of an ultra-portable vaporizer. It's compact, discrete, and has a lot of variety with individual temperatures or smart paths. The only real "concern" is the battery life, but I knew that already about the Miqro and with a second battery on hand I could absolutely get through a day or day and a half without issue using it as a primary vaporizer without recharge. The ability to use while charging is also a massive plus, as a battery pack while out and about (which I carry anyway for charging phones) means no worries about running out of battery if you come prepared.
While I don't expect the Miqro to become my sole daily driver, I expect it will have a very regular place in my sessions and in my pocket.
