Da buddha dab kit (nail ? )

does the little bubble in the stem really catch oils? I would hope the oil's not dripping into the stem to begin with.

cool. I really want to get a set up for the ssv, but don't want to spend 60 bucks plus shipping and be disappointed.

We're here to fuck shit up.
I do not think you will be disappointed. It's a nail that's always ready to go.

I dont use the disk. It slowed down the "dab"... it would be good if you wanted a super slow hit, but it also stuck to the dab tool a couple of times, and I was left with a crooked disk in my hot nail. (easy to remove with a hemostat)

just ordered a kit, hope I like it. I love dabs but hate using a torch, too dangerous while drinking lol. even sober its scary. also ordered a green baseplate to replace my blemished red one and a shirt. Gold housing with veined silver inner plate, dark green base, 2 standard wands, 1 fatty, an oil kit...gonna be so sick! glad I ordered blemished cuz I got a deal on color!

i own the one for the DaBuddha and i am VERY happy with the oil/wax hits i take on it. i have a nail and torch as well and prefer my Buddha. Sadly i am back to my torch and nail temporarily cause my 6 year old Buddha had to go back to Colorado for a tune up. i cant wait for his return

So I received my oil kit and the first thing I noticed is that my oil cover seats high within my Da Buddah. It sits high enough that the wand just *barely* fits through Da Buddah's "insertion point". The nail sits pretty far from the top of the new heater cover, and appears to be much higher up than what I saw in Vitolo's video. Maybe they went with a new design so you don't have to force the element down to make more room for airflow.

As I made it abundantly clear earlier, I know very little about dabbing. What's the proper effect I should be looking for? My first hits consisted of very wispy vapor and a not-so-great taste. Should I be aiming for "flash vaporization" instead? I tried turning up the temperature but I'm nervous about combusting (and not being able to notice if it's combusting with such a small amount of material being combusted).

temp should be at the very top.
make certain the HC is making contact with the inside base of the DBV

The heater cover is indeed making contact with the inside base (or more specifically, up against the screws of the clip). I'll try taking a dab with the heat all the way up. Not to say I don't trust your advice, but I could've sworn I saw some ember with my temperature knob at even 3 o'clock. Maybe it's due to using kief on my dabs? Or perhaps I'm just having a difficult time grasping the physics behind a flash vapor hit. Reporting back shortly after the test dab.

EDIT: The entire dab was consumed pretty quickly, and it tasted better, but I still saw a couple of embers. Perhaps I'm just using bad home made hash.

EDIT 2: Tried again with quality bubble hash. It didn't taste very good and it looked like towards the end of the hit I was hitting ember off left-over hash residue that was on my nail.

Anything besides bho or well made full-melt bubble will leave some residual stuff that will smolder and burn a bit at the end. "Dirty dabbing" as it's known. It isn't because your keif or hash are bad quality, they just aren't refined enough to boil away entirely.

Well, I bought this 4* full melt bubble hash from Fweedom, which is a dispensary well-known in the Seattle area for their quality hash. Their description off their site regarding the hash - "4* bubble hash is fully dabbable leaving little to no residue on titanium nails, and once exposed to heat the hash will curl upwards along the edges then pool out into a puddle just before full combustion occurs." It even says in the description that there's full combustion - is that really "fully dabbable"? Or is there always going to be combustion in the equation with bubble hash?

I have Ak-47 BHO Wax from them as well, and I'm afraid to test it out because I want to get my technique established before using my better stuff. Also, I wanted to say thank you guys and that I really appreciate the help because aside from this thread, I can't really find any information or tips regarding dabbing (especially with Da Buddah, which is much different than a normal nail setup, right?).

1337Dude,
I don't use a a Da buddha, so I'll let someone who does offer specific advice. I can say too much heat is not your problem, I doubt the vape is even capable of getting too hot for dabs. I think the description the dispensary gives of their product says it all. It's not truly full-melt if it leaves burning material. I'd say try a teeny dab of your bho at high temp and see what you think. Do you have access to a traditional rig for comparison?

The people who work at the dispensary don't seem too bright (or at least the people who run their site). And from what I've read, you're right, the vaporizer doesn't seem like it gets too hot for dabs. It's just confusing to see embers - even if the bulk of what I'm getting is a vapor hit. The taste just doesn't seem quite right to me.

I'm about to attempt my first BHO wax dab (and first real BHO dab I've ever done) with the temperature at full heat. I might have to go to the store and pick up some tweezers or something because this stuff is rock-solid.

Edit: Pretty much the same result, except the wax gets me a lot higher. I don't really see any combustion or residue, but the taste reminds me completely of combustion. When vaporizing hash in a bed of herb, I get more of a delicious hash taste than when I'm dabbing it through my Da Buddah. Something isn't adding up.

thats no longer possible for me :( my Buddha came back to me "upgraded" (my heating element was switched from shims and spacers to the clip style) and now i have screw heads that cause all my heater covers to sit higher (on the screw heads) and do not sit flush on the base anymore :(

Dabs are not made for concentrates that have residues in them as a rule of thumb.... although there are many people that do use nails etc in that manner.
The Dab/nail kit is for clean full melt concentrates...
Oil... BHO... and their solid cousins that turn completely liquid upon exposure to heat. (wax/budda/putty/earwax)

I think the ssv kit can get too hot to dab...at full temp when I try to dab the smoke hits a flash point or something and forms a fireball in the dome. I achieved this effect with mid quality bubble hash too. keep the knob 3 to 3.5 hours earlier than full blast and the fireballs disappear.

most folks dab at 1100 degrees if using a torch and nail.
the SSV gets to 880 or close.
The flareups mean that you need to modulate your breathing more.... keep a steady flow of air coming in... and use smaller "dabs';... keep the ball (stopper) in your hand to help slow the hits.

I worried about the slant of the nail on the SSV so I have the DBV kit.. but I do not see that this could contribute to flareups.

Happens with the DBV as well when fully preheated. I have found simple blowing into the top of the dome before doing the dab to cure the flare ups, where drawing through the wand before dabbing was not a 100% solution. My oil soaked brain tells me that the heat below the TI nail gets hot enough to ignite the mist/vapor of the oil, blowing from the top down mixes the lower air temp.

I've had very good success following your tips Vitolo. Temp maxed, consistent inhale, smaller dabs = quality hits. So far I've really been loving the kit. A couple of wax dabs and I feel like I'm the most 'medicated' I've ever been. Even some home-made oil that my friend brought over hit me incredibly hard.

I was having troubles with fireballs at temps above 3'oclock until I started cutting my dab size in half and rolling it up the dab stick a little so it slowly melts down onto the nail. I also got my reclaim wand to work pretty efficiently after your advice Vitolo. Thanks for being so knowledgeable.

I kind of go around the inside wall of the cup with my dab....
then I drag it up the wall so it melts down on the nail.
I believe the technique is similar.

Folks misinterpret the reclaim wand... thinking it will relaim for you...
We still have to do the work...
We just have a built in resevoir we can work with!

I just picked up one of these kits this weekend. So far, I love everything. There is one problem though, my tube is too big to fit inside the wand, but too small to go around it. Any suggestions?

you must carefully moisten the tube at it's tip....
then you slowly and surely, force the tube inside of the DBV wand until it is in there about 1/4 inch.
Everyone has difficulty with that the first time~

This is 1000x easier if the end of your tube is cut on an angle as opposed to a clean flat cut. like a 45 degree clean cut.

Also anyone who wants to dab with this, it is functionally identical to the SSV version, so here is a video demonstration with a water pipe to show it's capability. Totally worth the 60$.

It's low end QWISO so the smoke emitting from my Ti after the dab could be combustible material, or perhaps my dab was slightly too large. Heed Vitolo's advice when he says split pea sized dabs are a max, while this attachment is amazing, its only drawback is that is lacks enough heat to flash vaporize a dab in the same way a torch heated nail would.

EDIT:

I have, and will continue to always dab at max temp. This is highly recommended (by me) because it's the closest your going to get to a torch heated nail. Just make sure you don't dab anything too large.
