Hey @Ratchett I’ve enjoyed your products for years (we did some work on the Herbalizer adapters. *so close* to perfect!

Can you clarify the maximum temperature your products can be in direct contact with? I’m not sure at what temp I may be risking either the lifespan of the material or if I would risk producing anything unsafe for the airpath.

This completely depends on the material. Most of my 3D printed stands use a corn based biodegradeable material which is heat safe to temperatures around 300F, but my designs keep them far away from the heat source intentionally.

Whereas my 3D printed stainless steel scoop tools are heat safe to temperatures over 600F (which is why tools like my Scoop-n-Stir were designed in stainless steel so they were safe in a hot oven).

I'm also working on releasing a line of Nylon items which will be heat safe to around 400F, although again these will not be in the airpath because many people vape beyond 400F.

My Silicone rubber products are FDA compliant and heat safe to around 500F which is why I use them for the vapor path.

I'm quite a stickler on this point. I see a lot of other people making "3D printed" mouthpieces and WPAs for their vapes. But they have no concern over the material safety. Most 3D printed plastics aren't FDA Compliant safe for contact with food (I always shudder when I see people make a "3D printed straw" or "3D printed cup" because I know that person is likely using it themselves using standard home 3D printer plastics)

Currently FDA Compliant silicone rubber is the only material you'll see me use in the air/vapor path for the reason that I know it's safe to use with our dry herbal vaporizers.


Later this year, I'm hoping to begin experiment with Ceramic 3D printing. It'll be a very expensive setup for the experimentation with no guarantees it'll work for my needs. But it's necessary so I can finally have a directly 3D printable high-temp vapor safe material. Once I have the basics of Ceramic 3D printing, you'll be seeing a lot of new items which I've already dreamed up, but cannot cost effectively create until I have the proper machinery.

In other exciting news, today I'm running my first tests with a new 3D printer which will replace my old aging fleet. Hopefully this printer will be capable of the speeds I need to reduce manufacturing times while increasing finish quality (trying to eliminate all ridges from those dang funnels)

I've already got a few inventions already designed for the new capabilities of this printer. As soon as I get the settings dialed in, I'll be publishing a few new items (hopefully later this week)

?? do you no longer offer your open face/ generic funnel?
I'd like that with a flat spot on the bottom, instead of all curved.
Flat spot to keep it stable when used on the vape table, loaded with some hand plucked calyxes,
and then funneled into whatever device. All round is not stable. Thanks.

Lol it's a byproduct of the layering process, trying to use a new printer with higher resolution to decrease these ridges to extremely thin layers which are almost invisible.

How much challenge does it pose for you to alter current designs? I’ve gathered how busy you are so I’m sure it’s quite a full plate. We’ve worked together on the Herbalizer adapters and I’m considering sending my Herbalizer to @herbalizerrepair for calibration but I just think the bowl design is very faulty. I think vapor leakage could be improved by shrinking the adapter a bit to where the cool-grips around the Herbie chamber could be eliminated entirely or perhaps even eliminate the need for the top chamber altogether with some clever screen placement.

I know @MinnBobber does some good work with his adapters and a flex-cone basket. I have had trouble finding the larger basket screens so I’m only able to use smaller basket screens which hold less than what I’m after sometimes. I also don’t have a hydra tube any longer so my use scenarios are a little different.

Absolutely the inability to directly 3D print a vapor safe heat safe material cost effectively has hindered my capabilities dramatically (I can design a million different cool things, but making them safe for the market is a completely different story). I mean I could 3D print an herbie adapter out of pure surgical grade titanium if you wanted to spend a few thousand bucks on the part, but that really doesn't make sense

Right now I'm still trying to get manufacturing under control with my 100+ 3D printed products on the storefront. My current fleet of 3D printers are still working, but their technology is based on a decade-old open source design which is really slowing me down at this point. My newest printer (just arrived this week) is capable of substantially higher volume production so I can finally catch up on my workload and start manufacturing in bulk most of my best sellers so I can have them ready to ship for same-day shipping. I'm working on flipping over my fleet of 3D printers to this new commercial grade printer design over the winter so I have the time/money to invest in the technology for ceramic 3D printing this spring/summer (completely different printing technology and material)

The tough part about 3D printing ceramic is that I'll need to use a kiln to fire the part post-printing which affects the dimensions of the finished part. This printer and material are so new to me I will need to spend a few months mastering the processes before I can even begin to fathom the capabilities and limitations for low volume mass production. I'm still uncertain if I want raw ceramic for finished parts or if I'll need to glaze them in a second firing to produce a glass finish.

Alas, ceramic 3D printing is still a pipe dream for me, that's quite an expensive pet-project for the future

As some of you have been asking, yes, my new printer is up and running very well. I'm slowly migrating many of my most popular prints to the new machine so I can reliably increase production rates while reducing wait times. (Planning a sweet instagram Photoshoot this week showing off my new printer in action).

With my new printer comes an extended range of new exotic materials not compatible with my old printers. Some additional sophisticated printing technology enables me to create some more exotic designs I previously wasn't able to recreate on a high-volume production scale.

Enough with the boring details. After over three years since it's inception, with the help of this new printer, I'm proud to introduce my new and improved Storz & Bickel Dosing Capsule Loading Tray (V3)

Unlike the OEM massive 40-capsule loading, this tray conveniently loads 8 capsules at one time (although I will be open to suggestions for smaller loading trays if 8 is too many). This tray is printed with a Polystyrene plastic which is FDA approved for Food-Contact - a new lineup to my store.

In addition to this new in-house printer, I'm also working with a new Nylon fusion printer capable of producing extremely high strength high detailed prints which I have utilized to produce a new line of Nylon tools! In order of publication, allow me to introduce the.....

my scoop and poke and my 4 way are still my best scoop tools and i have tons..i like a few others but they all fail to the scoops on these..i want a scoop but i need it a lil longer than past. and also @Ratchett get with me bro so we can hopefully do what we were gonna do before..i totally dropped the ball timewise and wasnt sure if you ever even came into town but we can def make some things happen bro..just get with me.

1. Are these the nylon guys that are temp safe to 400+?
2. Are the steel guys ferric or magnetic ? (sorry, don't the proper way to ask but basically, will they stick to a magnet?)
3. Do you have toothpick-only (no scoops) in steel or nylon?

These nylon parts are solid all the way to the core and are heat resistant to 400F. I wouldn't test them with temperatures exceeding that, nor would that be covered under my standard warranty.

My stainless steel scoops are magnetic. However due to the porous nature of the material (result of the manufacturing process), it has a weaker magnetism than an identical item cast from a solid piece of steel.

If you were looking for something more like a stainless steel toothpick that could certainly be arranged (perhaps a point on one end, and a flat-end on the other side so it's a poke-n-scrape kinda tool?)

Great to heat about the magnetism. Not looking for anything super strong, just enough to be held to free up my other hand.
With regard to the nylon temps, perfect! I cant see a situation where it would be inserted into anything hotter than 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

I was thinking of circular scraper that conforms to sides of tubes and provides an edge that is set like umbrella unfolding. It would be universal due to "umbrella" activity. One of those picks with adjustable top that you would expand and scrape.

If I am understanding you correctly, it seems like an inside-out umbrella would be even better. (Meaning it would close downward instead of upward). That way, when you collapse it, the gunk (or good stuff) would stay tucked in the “umbrella” to keep the glass opening clean when removing.
