No you got me wrong. I get that you personally want minimum diffusion. I was stating my opinion when I said that you don't want minimum diffusion for vapor. And I didn't mean just you but more of a generality.
And no one said that a line was crossed but the ten slit inline did spark a lot of comments about killing flavor and too much diffusion while the eight hole inline is being praised as the champion of cooling and flavor. I am just a bit confused
I was looking at efs sandblasting pictures and had a moment. Anyone play M. Bison in street fighter?I'd love a worked EFS incycler. Kicking myself for not also grabbing the one @mlo4sho was selling along side the double donut I ended up buying off him, even tho it was scientific.
Even if you have to pm me im interested. To drag this back on topic:
Today is the last day I can/will wait for a package from Cory I am reasonably certain won't come. With only 2 response s to my half-dozen KIKs over the last 60 days, there is no comfort factor in trusting that this artist will come through with my custom piece. I need the protection, and intend to use it.
I also intend to inform the FC community of how this resolves. Depending on how the dispute goes, paypal may freeze his account. People that are about to send money in for a piece might want to wait a little bit. In my experience when an account gets frozen, payments coming in are redirected to those who the account holder owe money. Considering what I know already, if this occurs, it seems unlikely Cory would complete work he won't receive money for, so buyer beware.
Can @Stu or a mod chime in and let us know if there is any rule violation if I post the phone number and physical address of the business (public record)? Also I would like to post a timeline of the comunications without direct quotes, as an objective record of the transaction. I know you all prefer those kinds of questions be asked in PM, but I think the answer deserves a wider distribution. In the last few months, the Glass forum has been blowing up with threads about 'up-and-comers', 'hot shots', you name it. With so many new blowers, I can see the need for delineation about what we can say if a transaction goes south.
Back to the topic, I can think of no better summation than what a formerly active member of this forum said about the situation, that Cory is ruining his brand with this behavior, and it's sad.
From this thread, we can guess that the majority of transactions with CGD pull off OK. I think I'm the only person so far that didn't receive anything for their money or any explanation. Odds may be in the buyer's favor, but it is a risky transaction, and if there are problems I wouldn't expect Cory to do anything.
Even sadder, some of the posts in this thread about my situation sounded like blaming the victim (both me and others). I lost a lot of respect for a few folks that I perceive as enablers, and had to drag out the ignore button for the first time.
Good luck everyone. If people don't want to hear any more from me about the subject please let me know, but I thought it could be a good learning experience. for all. I've logged 2500 paypal transactions as buyer and seller, I've had to file disputes maybe two dozen times. The only transaction more sketchy than this one involved acquiring intellectual property from a seller in an Eastern European country. Even that seller, who obviously spoke little English and must have been using Google Translate for emails, communicated far better than Cory. I find that telling.

I did not need to hear your experience to sway me away from this guy... Your story is not unique. He has strung along a bunch of people and has customer-confirmed awful communications. He is just not the sort of guy I like to send money to.
If he has done this to a lot of buyers, it will not be long before he gets brought to a small claims court.
Smart man. It's interesting how things devolved from who Herr_Dampf was getting daily pics sent as updates.
Small claims is a possibility. I have a friend who's learned to skirt the line between nuisance suits and activism. In a way it's unfortunate for him that he chose me to give me the impression of fraud, but if I have to be the instrument of learning, I am OK with that.
When I get done with this post, I'll be filing the complaint and elevating it to as dispute. If there is a pattern here, the people who file complaints once the account is closed are the true victims. I'm headed for the life rafts. Let someone else re-arrange the deck chairs on this Titanic.
I'm interested to see how this plays out.
If anything, that should illicit a response I'd imagine.
I should have bet on this shit! The bet is "Will FCers continue to buy and enjoy Cory pieces"? I think they will and I'm willing to bet on it. Has nothing to do with your new guy or anything else other than CGD and FCers. Wanna bet?
Look how quickly a good artist with good communication can gather a followingOh, you want someone new who has no following yet. Each to their own.
I should have bet on this shit!
I tried to tell you guys but nobody wanted to listen. I cannot believe how far some of you went to defend his shady business practices. Shame!

I get where you are going but to compare vaped&confused is crazy. Even if v&c takes longer to make something you can rest assured that he will answer your messages within a day or two. Sometimes within minutes!
Joda is actually working on something for me right now that I paid for like a month ago. My steam roller gong combo designed by @2clicker . But even though it has been a while he still keeps in touch and has sent some progress photos. We have even talked about non glass related stuff. Very cool guy.
If it were not for this fact I doubt people would be telling him to take his time and wait for inspiration. @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd is a beloved member of our community. Him and Cory are like night and day
I should have bet on this shit!
I have never defended his bad communication. I think it is unfortunate. I just don't really care about it very much. I want his work, I'm not interested in swapping spit with him.I tried to tell you guys but nobody wanted to listen. I cannot believe how far some of you went to defend his shady business practices. I think that's great, and I hope he does well and creates great glass. I also hope he has good business and communication skills. Would the latter be necessary for me to engage in the former. Not so much... For me. YMMVLook how quickly a good artist with good communication can gather a following
