Cory Glass Designs re/incyclers - high function and affordable?

If all this is being discussed, what is the other thread for? @Deja Vu, let's not forget that I am not waiting for a piece to be created, just for it to be shipped.

I'm just curious why you make excuses for Cory? Yes, he's an artist, but he does not seem to be the super sensitive poet artist that we see in movies. You could make the argument that any person that creates something with their hands is an artist, but that doesn't mean they're allowed to ignore their paying customers. There is no excuse to ignore your paying customers.

I just want a fucking text message letting me know what the hell is going on. I am patient to a point and then my patience goes right out the window and I become extremely impatient.
In the end dude, complaining here does absolutely nothing. End of story.. You payed, so be trusting and wait, or be untrusting and wait.

It's fucked, but we don't know how busy he is or how he operates / his workload. In his position all you can do realistically is wait. Why make it a stressful experience for yourself? End result is waiting and just being patient, right?

I'm only sticking up for the guy because I have been chasing a CGD piece for a while now and was finally lucky enough to get my payment through to him and confirm my purchase order. I am not HAPPY to wait, and those who expect outstanding customer service are missing the point. Cory doesn't care what you want in terms of social consistency and making you want to trust him. Trusting and paying him is your own prerogative, so once you allow yourself to do it then it's a personal battle you have with yourself if you decide to start getting scared or anxious.

I am happy to wait long after my paypal 2 month safety-net expires with no communication. I have no expectations other than a final product eventually, and all other customers should share that mentality because it is realistic and calm and other people don't want to hear negativity. (as far as I know)

Weren't you just worrying the Glass Fairy Godmother wouldn't do a chargeback for you if asked nicely?

Upon sleeping on it; I realized that its not that big of a deal. I payed under the assumption that Paypal wouldn't support me if something went wrong anyway. That 2 month thing was new news to me and although it would help for some transactions (like eBay), there are a few customers in this thread that have received outstanding glass from Cory already, so he is confirmed to be legitimate :)

This is always good to hear. It's exactly why he'll miss out on at least a couple thousand more of my dollars and also why I could never recommend him to another person.

To someone who has become used to some sort of professionalism when it comes to business, I can't understand not only standing by, but happily standing by while a glassblower jerks you around with disappearing acts, silence, and delays when there are literally hundreds of blowers out there that are dying for work.

Edit: Again, excuses are given with we don't know how busy he is, operates, workload. It's all bulllshit. He wasn't too busy to get back to me when I said I had money waiting. He wasn't too busy to send me an invoice. Hell, he wasn't even too busy to actually make my dropdown in a timely manner! Now that it comes time to put all that shit in a box and ship it out he's too busy, or his workload is too much, or something else happened? If that's the case, fine. Get on the phone and just tell me!! If you don't want to deal with customers and the social aspect because you are too busy then get an apprentice in shop that can help with that shit. I'm just done with excuses that aren't even his excuses!

Again, that's just you complaining to absolutely no effect :)
Why even be that type of person to complain in that way and further jeopardize your chance of getting your piece sent to you? Someone could easily show Cory that and he would assume that you are a jerk and keep your money for whining and saying that you are going to slander him to others.. Be patient. I honestly don't understand why someone can go on so much when they have already paid and agreed to trust him.

Confirmation Bias.

It's like saying because Caligula wasn't a d*ck today, he can't ever be one. No offense to him, I just thought if I picked someone else the analogy would fall apart.

Trust is trust. It's something you have to allow yourself to do. It has to be more than wishful thinking that I am actually going to received a piece of glass from Cory. He sells glass, I payed for some. Why would he rip me off? According to the many happy customers on his Instagram and the few customers here on FC, i'd be the first to get scammed.
My luck can't be that bad.

Because it makes me feel better to get it off my chest. Because why the hell should I just keep all this bottled up? The person I contacted and spoke to seems to be a completely different person than I'm dealing with now. Communicative and professional has done a complete 180 to incommunicado and unprofessional. The professional is who I gave my money to. The professional is who I thought I was dealing with. I'm a jerk because I want what I paid for? That's how business works nowadays? Jeopardize my chance of receiving what I paid for? My chance? Him keeping my money and product for me speaking my mind? Wtf?

In this case, it's just the way it is. I had to deal with it during the initial attempt at contacting him and when requesting an invoice and asking simple questions.
I am not being a dick by the way, I'm just not empathysing correctly. I know what you are experiencing. I felt that initially, but I payed the guy knowing full well that people on this thread are kicking up a bit of a fuss about his customer service, and myself and a few others believe that it's worth it for the final product and we are adamant on that. I'd rather wait longer and be left in the dark if it means that he is being given his space to do what he pleases on his own time at his own leisure. That is what I am paying him for. Isn't something that I pay people to do every day, or EVER for that matter, but that recycler is going to be cherished so it's worth it in my eyes.

Hope you understand where I and some others are coming from when we bluntly say 'Deal with it' because really it's what we signed up for. Remember, the price is phenomenal and he is a professional glassblower after all. His people skills are not great, but the expectation is that it's all worth it in the end.

Apparently Cory is like God and Deja Vu is the angel who speaks to us and tells us what God's plan is.

You is if God were to talk to us directly our heads would explode.

Thank you for letting us know that the good Lord does not care and that he may see fit to strike us down for our blasphemy

Hahahahha. Just saying, be patient and respectful. No need to badmouth the guy for being slack. For whatever reason; that's how he is operating.
I have a great deal of respect for what he does, and for his work. When it comes to his communication skills, he sucks. I am working under the assumption that anyone that has payed money forward to him has accepted that and come to terms with it. Maybe I am wrong to assume that. Some people thought they were dealing with an outstanding business man and those people are now left with the harsh reality of putting their own expectations on him and setting themselves up to get let down.

Have you seen how intricate the latest pieces are that he's posted? Is he really going to step back into little recyclers? Are his scientific days long gone? He's getting over 200 likes a post...

I'm screwed.

Just a suggestion: If you paid by credit card, dispute the charge on the basis of not receiving your item despite repeated unanswered attempts at communication. In most cases, pending an investigation by the cc company, a provisional credit is issued back into your account. The vendor, in most cases does not respond to the cc inquiry and the provisional credit becomes permanent. This will either light a spark under the vendor's ass, or you're back to square one with money back in the bank.:2c::2c::peace:

I guess we have completely different views on goods, services, the purchase of either, and the expectation of professionalism when doing business. I do not tolerate bullshit and, to me, I'm dealing with unnecessary bullshit. I paid someone for an existing product three weeks ago and haven't even received a shipping notice yet. When I try to contact him I get crickets. Why is this acceptable? The last thing he said to me was that it would ship last week. He said nothing of Chalice, shows, heavy workload, a hurt finger, hurt feelings, a death in the family, or even a sick pet.

"Is it going to ship this week?"
"Yes it is."

To make extra money I offer a skilled service to people and they pay me upon completion of that service. If I asked for money up front and then waited three weeks to do the work with no communication, I would not have any repeat business nor would anyone recommend me? Is that slander or just honesty and business sense?

@Snappo Thanks for the advice. It was a PayPal invoice so I'll ride it to 44 days if I have to.

Ya know, this man man has brought any talk of his unprofessionalism upon himself. A simple Kik with the words Minor Delay would have sufficed, but to completely ignore your customers is unacceptable to me.

Very good advice. I seem to remember that paypal with throw a royal fit if people dispute the charge with visa. Unfortunately with me, I did a debit transfer. At the time I was thinking the paying in full as early as possible was securing my place in line. Live and learn.

Still I am familiar with consumer affairs agencies, federal trade commission, a few folks with fingers on the buttons at paypal, and a dude named Luis.

It's only been a month though. I wouldn't give up hope yet if I was in that position.

What a bunch of whiny bitches. I mean no disrespect, but there is so much hostility and aggression in this thread that I need to go elsewhere just to avoid absorbing this negativity and getting an ulcer. Some of you guys really need to learn yoga or zen or TM or something before you seriously hurt yourselves with all this bad juju...

Hope it works out for ya'all., See ya later...

I"m so glad I was hippy dippy about this

I'm pretty sure my glass took 2 months. I had other shit on the go, placed an order, got caught up in life, and bam. a piece 2 months later :D

i'm just saying, I think it was 2 months to get my piece, i'm pleased as punch. I just kinda.. did things while I waited since I had other glass and forgot about it:p

ALSO:
Have to say this because I just kinda rolled with it too, recycler came all sexy no scratches perfect in bubble envelope... but yup. envelope. A tad bit shocked when I was like "the fuck is this envelope in my mail" when i'm waiting for a box to be dropped off, and its a glass piece aha :D but it was marked glass and all safe and sound. If that gets your balls up ( for a custom bee piece, i would be balls on the inside aha) def something to look into, but worked out for me since i had no clue thats how shipped.
