RIP Chris Squire. This Yes fan for 40-plus years is devastated. FUCK.
It's been, what? Six weeks? Eight? I've been wearing a Yes shirt EVERY DAY since then. (Yes, the same one. Yes, I've washed it. Is it tie-dyed with the butterfly logo? HELL Yes.)
I hadn't actually thought about it, but, with all respect to so many fallen musical heroes and their families these last few years, Chris is the first member to pass in a long time from a band, I really really love. (May they all live forever.) Like you, I've been a fan for well over 40 years, and I can't wrap my head around him being gone.
If I'm vaping to Yes, the album I reach for is
Going For The One, but both for the video, and for Chris Squire, allow me to present to you an 11-minute run through "Yours Is No Disgrace," from Germany's Beat Club, 1971. I'm tellin' ya, yer gonna feel like yer vaping simply from the crazy-ass vintage video effects they laid on this thing. Actually, you might feel like you're on acid.
Anyway, Steve Howe's first TV appearance with the band as far as I can tell, and Chris is of course on fire.
