Cool Music to Vape to - Part 2

Depth isn't a measurement of time, at least with folk music... fusion jazz, jam-bands, funk and Chicago blues, maybe...
Sorry I'm not confidant I understand this, I can interpret it a few way. Maybe it's profound! :hmm:

Man Man - On the Mend.

Marcus is making me happy this evening, very happy.
Intro is about 2 mins long, I didn't know he spoke French too.

and a touch of HARD RoCKING Doug Rappaport. hell yeah!

Ha, you're quick...! Thus the omission in my edit and trying to explain... ok, I think I was referencing the "31 minute mark" comment in your reply and how to me, folk, or primarily the "depth" in folk, is mostly about the lyrics and less about structure... something along those lines anyway...?! Please forgive, I was barely awake...

anyway nevermind that ill-conceived "profound" bs...

Here are a couple of vids from Man Man's (Honus Honus', really) masterpiece (imo), 'On Oni Pond':

Loot My Body

And this beautiful ode to self-preservation:

Head On (Hold On To Your Heart)

Ha what we post is forever or until a solar flare wipes all the 'puters out! Also I missed the edit... err ops.

Agreed, for example if one goes back to early blues (folk music) when it was primarily one man one guitar the structure is much more elastic. When groups took it up there was a need to firm up the changes so that everyone was on the same page. Socialism in music! :o

Some structure is needed though to avoid that noise labeled free jazz. Without repetition there is no music imo. A performer needs to play the idioms that define a genre so the listener can feel comfortable with something they know and like but also include new ideas to keep it interesting. Tension and release.

Perhaps no human endeavor can be judged for merit without boundaries defining that endeavor.

I'm so full of crap it's astonishing.

Lots of variety shared. More newer/recent indie here.

I shared these psychedelic/interesting song videos in another thread here, and they were well received... great songs too.

More Billie Eilish here too (older). Much kudos on the thumbs up for her earlier.
Advisory, potentially disturbing video.

More Father John Misty. Excellent & u may know the woman in the video ...

More The Lumineers, an incredible live song & SQ.

To finish up the newer indie women artist posts, it's hard not to pick Florence + the Machine. She can really belt it out 👍.

More newer indie rock music and bands.

Lots of excellent newer music out there, and across all genres.

Keep 'em comin' @CANtalk ...nothing wrong with new. I'm old school, see my avatar? However, the band I've been pretty much exclusively listening to since 2018 is a jam band named Goose from Connecticut...I love seeing how they just keep getting better and better...and I would say they are a newer band.

Nice and thx! I try to support the local scene too. I like older music but lots of people already know all about that, so I'm sharing recent and indie artists instead. I find it's never been better for music! It has grown huge, global and very accessible. It's nice to see what everyone posts as well.
