That so dramatically flies in the face of facts that I believe are obvious on the face of it, that I question your mental state.
I agree with what you posted which is why i asked the OP to clarify what they meant by "confederate ambition" and what group of people held said ambition. Ive never read or heard anyone use that term in a modern context.
How many times does somebody got to repeat stuff to you ppl. Am i being "trumped"? I dun said confederate "sympathizers". I dun reworded the survey questions. I dun put the original question in bold print and giant letters.

Is answering the question of what you mean by an obscure term like "Confederate Ambition" so unreasonable? Or asking what group of people are holding these Ambitions?

If I re-ask this in BIG BOLD PRINT will it help you to understand what I'm asking you?
I know what you call yourself doing. You're flooding the thread to make it as obscure as possible. Didn't i Just answer your question about "what Confederacy?"? No, I don't require your reply. There it is in 2017 just as rebellious as ever...and @CarolKing there's you feminism thing just as well

Lo and Behold! The transformative power of Vapor.
Please remember, at this point in our history, states were truly sovereign political entities about which we mostly give just lip service these days.
There was more state and local influence and not a lot of the federal institutions. If you wanted to stretch that point further.

Its just too easy to paint with in just black and white when reality is all sorts of shades of gray.

Oh...most of this is just my musings and not pointed back at you or anything you wrote!! LOL Sorry. haha
If you don't mind me musing over your musings.:D I agree about there being different shades of grey (or gray) for that matter and there are several ways to delve deeper into a subject and find more chromatic shades of grey. ;)

One aside - Pre Civil war, There were some representatives that were all for the Union and for/against slavery but believed in the Free State - Slave State model in order to keep the Union together.

One other thing I often think about in all of this recent kerfuffle over the Confederacy, is that very few people in the south, as a percentage, actually owned slaves as they were VERY expensive. Approximately 1 M southerners fought at one time or another in the Confederate Army and very, very few of these boys owned slaves or came from slave owning wealthy families.

Of that 1M, approximately 600,00 died and many more were wounded.
There was a large black population in the south and fear of retribution from southerners, if they become free.
And some politicians did the math also. Remember 3/5 ths compromise? of a person? That was a shift with it being cheap labor with things like the cotton gin and the emergence of farm machinery. Slavery could have become obsolete merely
as a matter of course. Unlike the sad point of there being more slaves in the world today. :ugh:

I dun said confederate "sympathizers"
As in "Do you believe that Confederate sympathizers (and their movement) are holding up National Legalization? I wouldn't say directly.

RUDE BOY

Space is the Place
Didn't i Just answer your question about "what Confederacy?"

No I asked what a "confederate ambition" is.

How is asking a question making it more obscure when you're the one avoiding the question ?

...so I'll just have to believe you don't know the answer and you're just using obscure/made up terminology you yourself don't understand or have the ability to define.

your survey question makes no sense to me since there is no such thing as a "confederate ambition". so if you could explain what you think the term means it would help with others understanding what you're trying to say.

I think the term Alt Left is offensive. The Alt Right is referring to KKK, White Supremacist and Neo Natzi groups. Is the Alt Left people that are against racism and is that a bad thing? Fox makes it appear so.

Edit
I am offended when I hear it on Fox News which I think originated the term and from Mr. Trump.
This president is embarrassing and he makes me worried for our safety. He needs to shut the fuck up with his rediculious tweets. He's going to get this country in a mess that they can't get out of.

I'm not sure what this thread is about?

I say the question is still so murky that it is impossible to answer, until we understand the question.

Just one element as an example:
what is meant by "confederate sympathizer"?
Is that someone who believes in the 1860 Conf ideology or someone who believes such a rebellion should happen today or who believes in the slavery element or someone whose main issue state rights trump fed rights or???

--I see question was changed to confederate ambitions----but WTF are those exactly???

Confed ambitions? States rights, slavery, succession, you want to open a Popeyes Chicken ;) ?

I believe both are to refer to haters who use violence to further their hate. It just depends on which side of the aisle is getting their hate on.

You're doing a fine job hanging in there for not knowing what the threads about. And alt left is just something Trump made up but changes nothing

I don't think its offensive nor do I think of them as being very different from Alt Right in those things that I think personally think count.

Nice little violent attack by Alt Left in that bastion of free speech, Berkeley (well, if your speech matches what they think you should say).

This explains it how I think of the terms ALT left and ALT right.

The New York Times. Watch in Times Video »

  • “What about the ‘alt-left’ that came charging at the, as you say, the ‘alt-right

Both phrases are part of a broad lexicon of far-right terminology that has become important to understanding American politics during the Trump administration. Many of these terms have their roots in movements that are racist, anti-Semitic and sexist.

Here is a brief guide to the meaning of those expressions and others used by white supremacists and far-right extremists.

    Alt-Right
The “alt-right” is a racist, far-right movement based on an ideology of white nationalism and anti-Semitism. Many news organizations do not use the term, preferring terms like “white nationalism” and “far right.”
The movement’s self-professed goal is the creation of a white state and the destruction of “leftism,” which it calls “an ideology of death.” Richard B. Spencer, a leader in the movement, has described the movement as “identity politics for white people.”

It is also anti-immigrant, anti-feminist and opposed to homosexuality and gay and transgender rights. It is highly decentralized but has a wide online presence, where its ideology is spread via racist or sexist memes with a satirical edge.

It believes that higher education is “only appropriate for a cognitive elite” and that most citizens should be educated in trade schools or apprenticeships.

Alt-Left
Researchers who study extremist groups in the United States say there is no such thing as the “alt-left.” Mark Pitcavage, an analyst at the Anti-Defamation League, said the word had been made up to create a false equivalence between the far right and “anything vaguely left-seeming that they didn’t like.”

We would be fools not to have friends because we care more about their politics, religion or race then we do about the actual person they are. Sometimes its hard to make the jump across the differences but that it is a small price to pay for real friendship, unless the cheap bastard doesn’t return your power tools.

Quit PURPOSEFULLY posting incoherent information. Why are you posts about Vaporizers normal and coherent?
Yet you start 2 non-vaporizer threads and act all incoherent/confrontational/angsty.

My thoughts are you are doing this for NO other reason than to cause a fuss and ruffle feathers.

I had a disagreement with a friend once pertaining to prayer in school. She felt that a Christian prayer should be allowed every day at school. In fact she pulled her kids out of public school and put them in a Christian elementary school. Then she never paid her bill that she owed at the Christian school.

She and I grew apart. She was republican leaning but I don't think she ever voted. She just liked to complain. Her republican views were her business. She just turned out be he a hypocrite, she had an affair on her husband whom I really liked. I couldn't stand her after that.

Yep, we are all flawed and even our friends fail us and themselves but disappointment and failure are part of life. Sorry for your loss.
