I just found some of the ptfe oil slick sheet that i saw in your picture i may get a roll and try it both ways.

See a picture where the guy made almost like a box to the widest point of his chamber (square) and sat in his pyrex then sprayed into that looked like bit less hassle
But to be honest I’m going to try winterising as well the same day just a different run into a pyrex measuring jug then once butanes almost gone add the ethanol and freeze for 48 hours before filtering off through the buchner funnel into the flask. then do u pour from the flask immediately into the slick sheet and wait for some alcohol to evap or eval most in the flask then into slick sheet?

So no word yet from Pollen Master on my order after 10 days, still waiting on an email update from them. Their website is static and not really updated, if you're planning on ordering from them I would make sure to call/e-mail first to check their stock status. They don't charge your card until they ship so there's that anyway. I did some searching and found this reseller in BC that has them in stock (with inventory listed), so despite costing an extra $100 or so I may just get it from them instead.

Curious about some new material I just got, not sure what to even call it.

It looks like chocolate. Dry to the touch and breaks up super easily. Was in a slab form when received. It is not shiny like shatter nor is it wet like oil. What do I have?

I made a "live resin" run....from Killer Kush....really impressed about yield (I was expecting a very low yield) but not so much about flavor and harshness....flavor is really special but something kill it(it taste as when I'm cutting grass in the garden...) and it's absolutly harsher than my traditionnal runs!

I want to try another time with a non-freezed run (except the butane)..

It could be nice to be able to make it with trim just after trimming to avoid to find large surfaces to cure your trim...but I'm afraid a trim only run is not a good idea (too much wax and fats).

just wanted to add something about slick sheet and ptfe sheets. not trying to be preachy or anything but that stuff does not biodegrade. so please try to reuse as many times as you can. that shit in landfills is no good. i stopped using slick sheet because of this reason.

having said that i am working on a DIY rosin press and when this is complete scraping and purging will be a thing of the past.

Thanks DieHard, it does melt fully leaving no residue on my nail.
It does leave a little sticky on the end of my dabber, but I primarily drop these as they are easily handled.

In a pen, it turns to oil consistency as it vapes, sticky icky icky.

Oh man, this is part of why I'll never completely go from solvent concentrates to rosin. I love bhombing dabs onto the nail by hand, without needing a dabber. My absolute shatters are all easily handled by hand without melting to your skin.

Rosin on the other hand is a no go in this regard, even when shattery it is still stickier.

Also @2clicker I have never used parchment or slick sheets in my solvent extraction process, ever. However, I use slick sheets for rosin and will until something else comes along which is one, single substance whose deformation/damage which risks stuff getting into my oil is easily spotted. I'm not heat squishing anything with a silicone coating (like an oil slick mat or raw parchment etc), whether platinum cured or whatever - the safety of my oil is more important to me than the problem of non degradable waste (which is a legitimate problem for sure!).

Still, remember everybody that we can wash teflon sheets in iso or ethanol with no problems. If you use it, reuse it. Don't fill landfills with this stuff unnecessarily! However, especially you squishers - DO NOT REUSE SLICK SHEETS THAT HAVE DEFORMED/TORN IN THE SQUISH! Don't risk dabbing teflon!

A big incentive to reuse it is the cost, that shit is expensive! I just got 6 "rolls" for QWET and future rosin use and the cheapest domestic online source clocked in at CAD$19.99 each. I'm planning to be extra careful with my cuts too.

After 2 weeks of waiting for my Pollen Master to ship they still couldn't give me a solid ship date so I cancelled and ordered from Valley Indoor in BC. I already have a tracking number and with any luck it should be here Friday!

You could use it, however ethyl acetate leaves behind a bit of toxic residue which vac purging doesn't grab, I believe. I think it is commonly used in extractions, just not sure if safe for ingestion type extraction. So... if you have a way to separate the ethyl acetate from the ethanol and isopropyl, that would probably be best for this type of extraction.

I agree with @herbivore21 in regards to extracting with parchment or slick sheets. I'm glass only until my final 30 minutes in which I finish off with a flip which is for aesthetic purposes only. As much as I like rosin I always revert to BHO. I like the flavor and I'm yet to yield anywhere near what I could squeeze with tane. I guess after all these years of running that's become my control. I feel like I could limit my variables a bit better and with the inconsistencies with flowers locally I can can control my outcome a bit better with the tane.

Unless of course I get stuck with decarbed crap that drops a load that taste like pickles! lol

My most recent run was Tokyo Diesel I used my normal process. Didn't forget anything. This one came out as green as a pickle. For some reason I pulled a lot of chlorophyll. Can taste it too. Yield was 3.4 from 12 g flowers... How much does chlorophyll weigh??

Word on the yields brother! Still, I have yet to perfect my bubble tek and will revisit this with whole nugs that are properly broken up and heads exposed to agitation soon.

I have lately been somewhat more frequently using rosin, but this is because I have really only been dabbing at night for insomnia lately.

However, my anxiety and depression are getting ridiculous during the day and I have a heavy 7 day workload at the moment in my scientific duties so I'm gonna have to do some runs soon and get used to medicating with THC as well as CBD during the day again (haven't really done THC during most days in a long time).

Started with an AM dab of some Cluster Bomb rosin squished out of 90/120 micron bubble. Super creamy and fruity orange notes. Sure has lifted my spirits too! Requires much caffeine though! Backed it up with a dab of winterized ACDC <0.2% THCA/THC, 80+% CBD containing shatter and some caffeine to wake me up.

I really want to check out some legal nootropics actually, since I work more than is humanly reasonable and need something to stave off the physical symptoms of fatigue which can be compounded by dosing THC/THCA during the day (I know, not sustainable but welcome to post-modern labor standards - or lack thereof). I don't wanna touch any amphetamine type stimulants/narcotics though or anything addictive.

BTW, I made sure to have my day prepared and planned out before I took the AM dab, something I recommend to anyone who is very busy and also medicates with THC during the day. Nothing smooths off any potential anxiety after meds take effect at the start of a busy day like knowing that you are prepared for all you need to do.

I'm also looking at finding bulk CBD crystals to recombine with THC meds, because I think this is the way forward for the best medicine for my needs. I like the idea of retaining my favorite terp/cannabinoid profiles but just boosting the cbd for the anti-anxiety antidepressant effects (also to take the cumulative risks of long term consumption of high THC out of the equation)!

Whoa, I drifted all over in this post lol.

you can alway rewash in alcohol and deactivate the chlorophyll with light.... it will still have an off taste, but at least it wont be bitter.

It would be next to impossible to weigh the chlorophyll, almost like saying what does green weigh? The taste or color has never really bothered me, what drives me up a wall is when you get decarboxylated flower and your run taste like pickles.
I have an underlying note of "lawn clippings". And a little extra harshness. But otherwise it is quite nice. Pictures when I get home.

Just so Dab HAppy!
So I am completely new to concentrates and I have some questions. I know some of my questions have been asked and answered in this thread before probably, but I would appreciate if we can go through those questions again.

So all I have access to is wax. I am told it is from a dispensary. It's on a folded piece of parchment paper in a small yellow envelope that claims it is Headwreck. It is very sticky and sappy like at room temperature. I can barely handle it because it will stick to anything/everything. If I freeze it, I can make it break like a hardened taffy or similar to what it sounds like shatter would be like (breaks into shards like glass). Within seconds that shattery type wax will turn to sticky sap even if I work in the freezer with the door open. I only use the wax in two methods currently. Method 1 is to use my V2 Pro Series Wax Cart which is messy and sometimes leaves a really darkened resinous looking wax that does not seem to fully melt. Method 2 is to top off some flowers in the Daisy. I have been using Method 2 more often as the V2 seems to be very very messy.

Now for the questions:
First off...should I even be wasting my time with this wax? Is the stickiness a sign that this wax is not so great as I have seen others mention in this thread that if you can't handle it, then something is wrong.

What would be the best method of freezing/storing this wax? I get it by the gram and that will last 2 weeks probably.

What would be the best tools for handling this wax?

What would be the best way to get the wax from the parchment paper to a container and will an acrylic container like the MFLB ABV containter be sufficient to store the wax in? Or should I be leaving it on the parchment paper?

Is my Method of use/extraction considered an efficient method for wax? If not, what should I be looking into for equipment? I don't know that I will regularly keep wax on hand so I'm not looking to become a full on dabbing convert or anything.

What sort of extraction is the wax made from, if you don't mind sharing?

Rosin and live resin for instance, have more of a sappy quality, but can be some of the very best in quality.

When you encounter that taffy-like/sticky consistency with normal solvent extractions, it likely means there are impurities in the form of plant waxes/tar, chlorophyll or excess solvent which has not been fully purged.

First off, don't let the consistency put you off. It does not have to be easy to handle. I have many silicone wax containers, but always go back to the parchment. Freezing will help make it manageable. You can also use a reusable ice pack on your work surface to keep it cold.

Just so Dab HAppy!
I am not sure of the extraction process as I get it second hand unfortunately.

Is there a good way to check for impurities or unsuccessful purging?

I'm finding the best way for me to use it now is to open the freezer and allow the wax temperature to raise for about 5 seconds. I then use a stainless steel dab tool and I press down on the parchment paper to get my first little shatter to start forming a dab. I then use that piece (which is by now increasing in regaining it's sticky adhesive properties but has not turned to goo yet) to dab or pickup more from the parchment paper and I keep poking at the somewhat frozen sappy material until I get a good amount on the end of the dab tool.

Now getting it from the dab tool to the top of the flowers in the Daisy was proving to be quite difficult as well as messy and sometimes wasteful. The key I found is to refreeze the dab. It's an extra step and it becomes an extra few minutes, but after 2-3 minutes in the freezer the dab will refreeze to a hardened frozen taffy again and I can use another dab tool to just snap it off the first dab tool and allow it to drop right onto some flowers!

The process is getting easier as I experiment and practice, however I don't see how I could dab on the go easily...unless I always carry around a cooler. I have some no goo fingertips and a no goo vape scrape tool from Vapornation and they should be here tomorrow so I can see if they help at all, but I am already feeling better about the wax now that I realized I could refreeze a dab so quick and then snap/break it off easily.

For on the go loading, I do prefer to use a non stick silicone container over parchment. Also I hate carrying around sticky dab tools on the run. Instead I will load my pen with a toothpick and toss it, I keep a box of them in car...
