I'd rather go thicker than the film and thinner than a plate that's y I'm looking at the pad sized ptfe that's way it's still flexable to be a liner but stiff enough not to crease. IMO a pad sized thickness is a one time buy also.
do they have any with a .030" or .040" thickness? ive also been waiting to hear from you on the grainger site cause it was a little typofilled and you had been in contact with them.
unlike PTFE film which has a very short service life and is not cheap(its also very bad for the environment, very very bad).
not exactly this... but I would be looking for something like this just for storage.I honestly just want to find the cheapest PTFE replacement for parchment. I don't blast or purge, just store and transport.

indeed they do! when you search on graingers site you have to click on the item and then the description will have the actual size. using the search drop downs makes it look like they only off the thick shit. EG... a drop down selection that says ".300" could actually be .030 or .003. you just have to view that item individually and you get the real thickness. im going to order some of the .004 and .005 to see if it holds up better than osSS.
what do you consider a short service life? i have had pieces of slick sheet last months with repeated use before it needs to be tossed.
i do like the idea of the dish though. i am very interested in how the freezer trick will work with it.
I am just going by what others say as I am new to the PTFE sheet craze and havent tried it. But, either way I would like to find something that isnt consumable as unlike parchment paper, PTFE is not something we want to be filling our landfills with.

So these dishes are big enough to blast/wash right into and evap from there? I didn't get to check their sizes?
well, do that then... I was only trying to help. That looks way too deep and narrow. Would be a pita to get oil put of that I'd think.
Besides, I can store a dozen different grams in a single large Jyar by using PTFE sheeting as parchment style storage.
is the same brand as the ones I linked above.... at least one, I know ive seen it on amazon too if I didnt link it... ive looked at alot of ptfe products today. How about this?
http://www.capitolscientific.com/Dy...ith-Pouring-Spout-PTFE-350mL-O-D-x-Height-130
Holds 350ml. A soda can holds 355ml.
Just over 5" diameter. 1.34" high wall.

I think a .005 or a little thicker would probably be thick enough to origami an envelope out of it that might stay shut like parchment does when creased. I notice the .003 of the oss does ok though so anywhere you can find .003" thick ptfe film for cheap you should be good to go if you are looking for generic ptfe sheetingto be just like oss for cheaper.Sorry, I wasnt trying to discount your effort to assist. I was just explaining why I wanted the sheeting versus a "container".
I was reluctant about that dish you posted (its not the first time ive seen it posted either)You guys must not look at my links, lol, j/k...I posted back there a couple different 400mL dishes, two different brands, nice that we have a lot of places to get this from, even though it is all pretty much one or two brands.
Oh ya...calling out @herbivore21 again...no tek secrets bro! lol
This discussion is going in a great direction...has made me not think about the evap chamber, lol.
@Tachead, do you have an approximate time frame where you will see your friends results? If it's gonna be awhile, a might just get one these dishes to try
