PTFE coated tools should be here today. Review to come... now I need to get some concentrate, lol.
Edit - tools came, they look good. Waiting on meds now. Delivery FTW.
Disclaimer: I had to test these. In doing so, I obviously had to do the dabs I played with. I am currently writing this from the dark side of the Moon. OT: Contrary to popular belief, there is nothing interesting over here.
But I digress...
Yeaaaah buddy! This kit is win! Behold my Teflon coated paradise (work mat included, however scissors not so much... those also suck balls are are getting the heave-ho once I find a good non-stick option):
The fit and finish (wait... can these have a "fit" if they are single pieces of metal?) of these tools are heads above the $9 "Amazon.com special" wax carving tools I was using previously. The edges actually have an
edge (instead of being a 1-2 mm thick, flat, blunt "edge") and the points are actually pointy! ALso note that the tools, minus the tweezers, have octagonal shaped bodies. No rolling around anymore!
Amazing, right? I know... BFD. But wait, there's more!
The Teflon coating on these tools is pretty badass. It makes these units slick, both literally and figuratively. In order to test this, though, I ordered up some of the stickiest stuff I could think of. That, being Clear Concentrates... clear concentrate. This can be seen in the above picture.
...and here it is on the end of my tool (heh). Looks like molten glass
:
Wiped cleanly off onto the bud for a nice GDP sammich (note awesome new tweezers are also Teflon coated!)
And the tool?
Only a barely visible (in direct sunlight) coating of residue remains!
Now if only that special case I ordered to house these gems in would get here.
