OMG, I knew you had some wood bro and an addiction but I feel that this far surpasses an addiction, might be time to undergo a detox! One of my favorite blades
This is called Intarsia. My father does this as a hobby. All natural colors of the wood, no paints. Lots of work. Each piece is cut separately and hand sanded to make fit. I did a small fish when i was around 14, only 20 pieces or so, still took forever LOL
He made this one for me. Its my logo elsewhere.

Ok so I have been wanting to post a little wood here myself, this maybe be half and half related and unrelated. So these two masks are hanging on my wall in the shop, I researched it and found that they are Polynesian I wanna say, its been a while. I found one on ebay just screwing around searching, the guy wanted quite a bit for it, I started watching it, he would list it for 5 days and after a few listings with no one taking the bite I hit em up and asked him what he would take for it, he told me he didnt have much in it and he was just trying to get rid of it, he told me $50 plus a little for shipping, I jumped on it, its rather large and is a solid piece of wood, wanna say its almost 30"L, its well solid and well made and looks cool on the wall!
This next one is a little smaller but not much, started to looking for others on Ebay and found this one, same deal, guy couldnt sell it so I hit him up and told him I just got a larger one for $50 and he was like, Ill take $50 so there ya go!
Now below is an investment I spent quite a bit on several years back, its 50lbs. in two chunks of two tone museum grade amboyna burl, I immediately got them in and waxed the heck out of them, they have been laying in my private stash for a while now and I am yet to figure out what I am going to do with them. Its not that I couldnt make stems and such but cant bring myself to do so with either. To actually get two chunks this massive is quite a task, sure yeah you can find amboyna all day long in smalls and all sorts of sizes and shapes but how many blocks are out there with the eyes and figure these have, not that many, and if you do you are going to pay a hefty price for it.

Also those masks are badass!! Id love to have a couple hanging in a man cave, pure awesomeness.
I got these 2 that i have no clue what ill do with yet... They are thin but they just look so badass i had to own them. Pure impulse buy there. May be one day i can figure out a way to inlay them into a table or something.
33″ long 12″ at the widest/tallest and 1-1/16″ thick
27″ long 10" at the widest/tallest and 1-1/8″ thick
May end up hanging them on the wall like pictures once i get moved. I love wood.

Wow those are..... I'm speechless.
I'd leave them as is and use them as a live edge shelf as a platform for more beautiful pieces.

That would be sweet... Especially with a log collection on top!! I can only imagine a collection like yours sitting on a shelf made from these.
I got them for what i consider a steal. $84 for both shipped. Just couldnt say no.

I don't think I could either. I've been on the look out for some nice live edge pieces to use for a shelf. I just haven't found the one that tells me to buy it yet.

Depending how u make it, you can still use it down the road if u ever wanted to piece it out.

I picked up a couple additions to the buckeye collection. Knife with buckeye scales, scales for my S&W 1911 and 4 drip tips for my box mod. Here's a quick pic for ya.
