That sounds really nice.
I've been eyeing these for a while, but have been trying to declutter and simplify my life. With so many that don't get used already, I've been able to withstand with that mentality.
Now I'm about to send in my Evo for a loose bamboo, and I'm really regretting not having one to jump into it's place. Hmmmm, seems like shipping has been pretty quick....
You say she hits as fully and smooth as an Evo?
The one thing I haven't heard and maybe it's still too early, is the differences between how the two stock units hit? Was there a different design goal with the bandit? Just aesthetics and art?
I could hold of sending in my Evo for a week or so...

huge heater with this shpere ..
just the volume ..and the weight! of this shpere .. makes it so much powerful comparing to the herb inside the chamber..

What's up @bleak !?! I love this vape. The only downside so far for me is the taste. It seems to mute a decent amount of flavor. It never tastes bad, but when I throw the same herb in the Herborizer I taste things that never showed up in the vapbong.
But what's so dope about this thing is the airflow. It's unheard of. The only thing I have that is in the same ballpark is el nino, and that doesn't count. This vape delivers the easiest hits I've ever taken. It's like breathing in vapor.
I also wonder about the heater. I'll dig up those videos @Shit Snacks was talking about.

Help me out! What settings do you use? I've been between 9 and 11, and usually settle on a stabilized 10ish.

Honestly it's a tough comparison to an Evo since they're so different, I will tell you that it's got plenty of power so no worries there, and then when you get your Evo back it can be quite complementary! These are uniquely beautiful pieces of art, easy to forget the fact that they rip vapor like legit bongs...
As far as bong versus bandit, I did talk a bit about the difference in my earlier posts, and yes they actually do hit the same. Both are smooth vapor bongs, the bandit is just a different form factor, I do think it pulls a bit smoother, whereas the standard bong does chug a bit, like a straight bong should! But either way it's open air flow and a smooth pull... So yeah would just depend on what form factor appeals to you and your set up?
I will say I am very happy with my purchase of the plum jelly bandit, and I don't really plan to sell my woodland fantasy vapbong either... But the bandit is my preference honestly, and what I plan to do a special fancy animal custom order of someday!
My man! Are you stirring between hits? Or are you saying even the first hits just are a bit more muted than others? Coarse grind just loose filling up the little ceramic bowl within the ball? Have you tried hitting it without any water in it yet? that may give you a chance to get more of a flavor baseline... And the usual clean screens etc. I was using my plum jelly bandit dry when it arrived and those were some thick tasty hits!
sticks, the VVPS that comes with it is fine, not great but works fine, I think you've got the right power, I also settle around there

I haven't used an herborizer, so I didn't think it unreasonable that he felt it had a more pure taste for him since all I know it is a top tier vape? His settings actually sound pretty correct to me, so that's why I suggested other things... Comparing flavor between different vapes can be quite tricky!

@stickstones – The water has a bit of a muting effect on the flavor I guess and I agree that the VB does not show off terp profiles as detailed as for example a Tinymight, but I also recommend using a coarse grind, it makes a huge difference. It might take some time to find the perfect voltage setting since the meter is a bit shaky, but once you found it, the flavor should be enjoyable too. I agree the cloudsize to smoothness ratio of this thing is incredible.

Here is the heater core inside the shell, see it is just kanthal wire wrapped all around a plain ceramic tube, which connects to the power source cord on the other end:
But that in turn heats up the entire glazed ceramic sphere to become the full heater!
And yeah those tasty first hits do surprise me, even through the water, right now enjoying some delicious toxic punch!

Is there insulation on the lead wire that goes up the center of the ceramic tube? That's directly in the air path. I also wonder if a glazed interior would improve the taste.
I would be surprised if so, based on the coil winding It looks like the ceramic tube itself is the insulator.

I have no idea anything more than I said, how do you know the wire has lead? I don't really know about these things so I have no idea... But I know about ceramics, and glaze would not affect the taste really at all, it just helps with the cleaning really, especially since the heater is not the vapor path, I don't see why it would make any difference at all... And I mean, I sure hope the materials and air path is all safe, kind of just assumed here!

Oh haha confusion from the same word with different meanings! Yeah the heating element is the kanthal wire, the other end of it goes down inside the side of the vapbong and out the cord to plug into the vvps... So the air path actually comes in through the heater ball holes, right in through the middle of the heater core, so I don't even think fresh air travels over the rest of the wire much if at all? I think it just flows over the glowing kanthal wire through the hot ceramic...

Both I guess? The tube is more or less just the insulator holding the kanthal wire, what it is wrapped around, then the whole thing is just loose in the core of the ceramic heater ball... so air comes in through those air holes all around inside the big heater ball to get heated, passing over, through, and around everything in there? But the actual cord part is further inside the ceramic away from the air path intake holes I think... So it seems!

On the calibration video, it looked like he snipped enough insulation for the crimp. That leaves insulation on the length of wire running inside the ceramic tube. In the heat zone, and possibly in the heated air path. I didn't go back yet to confirm. Did I see it right?
