Bought a $20 ceramic at the LHS the other day, pic below. Still looking to get my hands on a replacement quartz domeless (banger, castle, etc) and have ad in the classifieds if any of y'all have one to dispose of.
First impressions of the ceramic are okay. It was cheap ($21.xx with tax), required no seasoning, tasted better than expected and it works.
Cons are:

- No obvious ways to tell if at operating temp without thermometer. I love how the slits in my quartzcastle would glow.
- Requires LOTS of time to get to what I think is operating temperature. Using a torch the size of Vector miNitro. 3-4x the time of my quartz, and it leaves far more puddled and not vaped.
- Also concerned breakage is in near future, based on all the ceramic failures I have read about.

Mine fits okay - it rocks slightly. I believe this is dues to "mold marks" on the sides.
I'm still calibrating my Mark I finger to judge temps, need more practice. Different nails require slightly different surface temps - for instance the castle needs to feel hotter, to have the center at the right temp.
Mine (same design as yours) does require more heat up time, but retains heat like a big dog. I have no problems getting full vaporization - in fact, I have had better results with this one in that regard. The castle is probably worst for me so far (I am a newb
).This is probably my least favorite material - but not by much. Durability is a concern, and I haven't used mine much, but it didn't break as quickly as I expected. Initial testing with Ti surprised me, I can't really tell the difference taste - wise, and Ti is just cool!

Like walking into Mordor, once does not merely "obtain" the grail. It is a lengthy endeavor and search.
Once you do find the grail, there is nothing else to do, but melt it down and make concentrates out of it.

I don'know if The Aardvark would qualify as a Cheap, high - quality nail but it's quartz, used for dabs and is under $20 if you contact theyoyokid1 directly. So if you already have a Pinnacle water tool you can turn it into a Nectar collector style Dab tool. If you don't have a pinnacle water tool you can buy the Pinnacle water tool / Aardvark combo on E-bay for $90.00, or check out the PNWT knock off's in the cheap glass thread. So... I'm really medicated on some fresh DIY shatter so excuse the pot thought.
I looked through every listing on ebay under the search "Domeless". There are so many shapes and sizes. I think it would be cool to have a Chess set with some of those nails as the pieces.

You need someone with a kiln, you could put one set in there just until it turns blue so you could have identical sets, one blue one silver. Or you could just try to free hand it with a torch but then they wouldn't be very even for the one set.
