Thoughts on my FC-UFO? Steven thinks they are knife marks? Look like tiny cracks. Only my 2nd piece and the FC-187 seemed fine.

From Steven:

Your pic show that this is a knife mark.which is a normal situation when products were produced. In quality control terms,it called minor quality problem.

It is high quality piece and good function piece, pls keep it.

vyrrd5.jpg
That is NOT "knife marks". I got a puck-cycler from Kathy. It had the same cracks. I sent a pic and it was replaced. Looks like stress cracks. Maybe a blower can chime in here. @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd @yeti_house_glass

Looks like stress cracks to me, are there any other problems with your FC-UFO?

Mine wobbles on the table terribly, no way I'd put a nice vape on top of it without keeping a hand on the vape! Mine also had a stress crack, but it was much larger and more visible in the pictures.

So far Steven is 2 for 2 with me. I haven't had 1 piece built properly. I'm not even holding Steven to the standards of American Glassblowers, Just his peer's in China! The build quality I've seen on all my other pieces (CCG, Sunshinestore, Yingmin5) all surpass Steven's work with one exception - glass thickness. Steven's glass is at least 1mm thicker than anything else I have.

Still, We'll see how my replacement FC-UFO turns out (if he ships one as he promised)

This too shall PAX...
Thanks for the quick replies... I had a feeling and did not want to complain about a relatively inexpensive piece, but still kind of crappy when it's the first thing that jumps out to you. I admit I did not read this entire thread, but thought that Steven was a reputable vendor prior to purchasing. His packaging and glass thickness is a great selling point.

@Ratchett - I did check for the wobble as I read your previous post about it. Did not seem to on mine.

Just received this 8 arm piece from Kathy http://www.dhgate.com/product/2015-...-percolator/235105412.html#s1-4-1b|3557384459 , nice quality (THICK glass) for $30 and great diffusion. Probably the best "two function" rig out there. First time I've hit a tree perc with the arms sealed to the can and man its such a nice hit, definitely gotta pick up a gb-194 now. Polished joint on the banger doesn't have a perfect fit but close to it and functions as it should.
G56em9x.jpg

Exceeded expectations and everyone should pick this up, I'm sure it'll be killer for my e-nano/underdog but I don't have flower right now and will be using it with erl for a while.:clap:kathy:clap: 666

What is the diameter of the base? Looks nice and wide for a smal piece :)

I've had this one in my cart for a while now. Looks like I need to buy it :D

A bit pricey but they are getting there with the wig wag:

Glad you like your egg!

Welcome & cheers!

Wow! You guys deliver fast! I like to see that they're already working on the wig wag idea. Hopefully one of the original manufacturers will start incorporating it their design. I don't really trust the added glass on this piece to hold up well, as I've seen this kind of "glaze" crack and break off of pieces.

The word GLAZE in the title of this item kinda worries me that it is just painted on. Not that I am gonna rush to buy one either way.

Yeah, that and the fact that he's using a chinaaaron bulk photo in his listing worries me about the quality of that added glass, or whatever it may be. I've definitely seen cosmetic stuff like this that's added after the fact crack and/or break off.

Thanks. I sent Steven a second message.

By the way... Ordered 3 of your adapters from your site @Oregonglassblower awesome stuff.

Good call, those cracks definitely make you eligible for a replacement in my opinion. I think a lot of these sellers like to test the waters with new buyers to see exactly what they can get away with, but most will try to ensure you're satisfied as long as you're firm with them on your quality expectations (within reason of course).

Glad you were happy with everything!!

Just checked out your site, and I'm definitely happy with those 14mm replacement mouthpiece prices! I can finally get my sheldon six-shooter back in working order without having to feel taken advantage of by all the price gouging I've seen around for the genuine replacements. Thanks for your services sir, I'll have to place an order soon!

Yeah, I've been off of tree percs for a few years now. They're way too brittle at their bases. Broke wayyy too many :bang: before I found affordable scientific glass, so tree percs have left a very expensive sour taste in my mouth. Someone needs to inform the DHG vendors that tree percs are outdated and the shrub perc is the way of the future! :brow: Weld those arms down guys!

Diameter of the base is 4" and the can is 65mm. It's 8" tall so yup, super bottom heavy piece that pairs perfectly with my 14mm female gong and enano / perfect enail piece for sure.

Agreed, the regular tree percs with open ended arms are bunk and don't function at all. I have a showerhead to regular tree perc straight tube and only like it because the tree is worked (and reinforced so it won't break), diffusion wise it's pointless and adds a lot of drag. The "shrub" style perc is a drastic change and has a unique hit that I find more enjoyable then most of my favorite percs (showerhead, gridded inline, matrix), doesn't stack as much as those but diffuses as smoothly and has better flavor.

Indeed. Traditional tree percs have to be perfectly level to function properly, which often isn't even possible when you're hitting it off of a desk, and especially isn't if it's being passed around. And the chug introduced by multiple trees is too damn high, imo. Shrubs are more durable and have a better function all around, they make lots of little bubbles instead of just letting big chuggy bubbles out of one side.

I need to pick up one of these yingmin rigs: http://www.dhgate.com/product/hot-sell-glass-bong-glass-smoking-pipe-with/191000259.html

I was looking at a similar one a while back but didn't want it to say Roor, when it so clearly isn't remotely related to them. Also, I don't really want to associate myself with their brand, as I see it as yet another excuse (really, the original excuse I guess) to sell ignorant people overpriced glass. Though it looks like they've actually restructured their pricing now that there are a billion better blowers out there. Still ~500 for a straight tube is insanity as far as I'm concerned.

As for DHG sellers putting Roor labels on pieces that don't look remotely like Roors, why? I mean, if you're going to go the counterfeit route, at least slap a Toro tag (or the tag of whoever the design was taken from originally) on there, that would at least be a bit more believable. All those counterfeit logos do is make me look elsewhere though, I'm on DHG because I don't like paying for a brand name. /rant

Have some cool news for anyone interested in getting a female d-cycler. I've been checking out this d-cycler with a wigwag slapped on it from Ephan. We had some trouble communicating at first, but I sent him this photo and he said he's down. I think I'm going to order one this week or next and will let you all know how it goes. Sounds like he'd also be willing to do 18mm joints and standard female d-cyclers without the wigwag, though you might need to photoshop an image to convey what you want to him.

ruIHMqd.jpg

Mannn. There are way too many promising pieces out there at the moment. The matrix pillar looks amazing, as do the new vids for Steven's straight fab and taurus clones. :o And it's all so affordable when you consider what American manufacturers are charging for more or less the same rigs! Also, I'm really tempted by these wigwag honey buckets, but the manufacturers still haven't gotten the memo that borosilicate != good nail material. Back in the day :myday: we had no choice but to risk hot borosilicate in our laps, but those days are long gone, and I'm sure not looking to bring them back. Also, if they're making a worked honey bucket, I think it only makes sense to offer a matching worked ofz cap. Just my :2c:. Still, I'd be very happy to buy one of these (or 2 if necessary) provided I could find a good quartz or titanium swing arm to replace the boro one.

VCcjbIz.jpg

Has anyone seen any vendors actually selling these titanium swing arms, or are they just click bait?
I asked CCG if they could source titanium or quartz arms and they said no, at least for now.
Anyone know if these Hyman swing arms would fit the new CCG worked buckets?

Got a new piece in today from the seller hfy_glass.

I love it  good quality overall. A couple bubbles here and there. Nothing major.

14 female!!!!

Small chamber (narrow, outer diameter is 50mm)

Base is 5 inches in diameter :freak: this baby is never tipping over!

The 6 slit donut perc is a huge flavor savor, especially with some restriction since only 2-4 slits fire in that case. It has a nice chug to it (less when a nail or vape is being used) that reminds me of a beaker bong.

Water test with no restriction and with a domeless Quartz nail

E-nano (it also works fucking amazing with the Lotus. So damn tasty)

This is the same bubbler just with a showerhead perc. Looks like it might pull smoother since it has 8 smaller slits. I might get it later on but I'm actually liking the chug and great flavor from the 6 slit donut perc.

All my days in a daze...
I have had my Cnmeng fab egg for a few days now.
Quickest a piece has ever come for me, 7 days.

I am extremely impressed with this little egg.
The function is totally on point.
It has a nice size 11 slit showerhead perc.
All the slits are very cleanly cut and evenly spaced.
The impressive perc means this egg only needs a tiny bit of water to shred.

I wasn't very impressed with the pull on my early pinhole perc CCG fab egg, so I am very pleased that this other egg functions so well.
The Cnmeng egg has now replaced the FC-710 (diffusion pump) as my enail daily driver and I didn't think anything would be doing that.

Much thanks to @GSH for his review, video and recommendation.
I pretty much know if he says it's good, it's a safe buy.:D;)

I like it because I was looking for a 14mm female minimal diffusion piece that had some chug. I have so many smooth hitting percs including shower heads I really didn't want another one at the moment. This donut one has been really nice for a change the past couple days (it's funny, I used to hate any piece that chugged when I first started buying off DHgate, and now I have so many smooth hitting pieces, I am going back to the old school chug! Ha)

I havent done a side by side yet with the diffusion pump, but with herb, the donut perc sure makes it tasty as hell. I think the Showerhead may not be as flavorful compared to the donut.

Couldn't agree more. I love this egg. The tiny amount of water needed makes it perfect for dabs.

It has replaced my FC-710 too, I just can't stop hitting it.

You're welcome for the review, it makes it all worthwhile if people such as yourself get some use from them. Plus I enjoy all the testing :science::nod:

Cheers!
