Got a D020-2S in the mail today from Sunshinestore, seven days from date of purchase over here in the US. It was wrapped in 5-6 layers of bubble wrap. Arrived safe and sound, fully functional, no leaks.
Pros:
- The frit disc fires rather evenly. Tons and tons of tiny little bubbles.
- Diffusion and filtration levels are off the charts. You're not going to have to worry about particulate or irritatingly hot vapor with this piece. Hits are as smooth as possible.
- It's physically impossible to drink water with this piece because the turbine perc functions perfectly as a splashguard.
- Drag is actually minimal. I didn't expect this. I guess it's a coarser frit than I expected.
- 95% reduction in flavor is wonderful for vaping reclaim. This was the primary motivating factor behind this purchase. I wanted a piece that would reduce the undesirable flavor of reclaim as much as possible, and this piece succeeds wildly at this function.
Cons:
- 95% reduction in flavor is undesirable for flowers or concentrates.
- Downstem is chuggy. Doesn't bother me, might bother some.
- Can't use cold water with it without clogging the frit quickly.
- It needs frequent cleaning. The frit is going to clog eventually, and because the frit cools the vapor so efficiently, reclaim is going to build up above the turbine perc more quickly than with other pieces. I've already got about a half a centimeter round little spot of blonde, condensed vapor stuck to mine after only two small 1/15th gram or so bowls of flower, with room temperature purified water in the piece. I suppose this piece would benefit greatly from something like Rezblock.
- Mouthpiece is a bit curved to the right, downstem is a bit tilted away from the piece.
- Most will need an adapter for the male 18.8mm joint. I just happened to have a spare Arizer Cyclone bowl laying around, which is essentially an 18.8mm female to female adapter, so I'm covered there.
I'm very satisfied, as the piece excels at the primary function I purchased it for: reducing the undesirable flavor of vaped reclaim. I would not recommend it for use with flower or concentrates unless you have respiratory issues, as the flavor reduction is entirely undesirable for these uses. For those with respiratory issues who don't want to give up vaping, the diffusion and filtration this piece provides may be of benefit to you, particularly in terms of reducing respiratory irritation from particulates and the temperature of vapor.
I suppose this is also a useful piece for vaping poor quality flower or concentrates if you're unfortunate enough to be stuck with such things, but I'd definitely advise finding a better source for your stuff if that's the case, for the sake of your health.
