Me too. I have wanted to try this style since I saw the Quave Club Banger. ($100++). I can't see where I can go wrong with the knockoff for around $22. I will report when I receive it.

I don't believe anyone has bought that, the consensus here is that there is not enough clearance above the birdcage perc and water will hit your mouth. If you want a stacked birdcage, some have bought the GB186 and have been positive about it except for a couple defective units.

Since the D020 is a little too small for my use i think (want to primarily have a group piece to mate with my LSV, replacing a bong so want to get closer to thats size, prefer something only a little smaller than it) I was leaning towards that D021 piece but that was my exact fear. I guess this one http://www.dhgate.com/store/product/g18-two-functions-glass-water-smoking-pipe/184857976.html is designed more correctly for the birdcage? Though it might be just a little more money than I wanted to spend, and at that price maybe the G23 is a better piece (though it doesn't come with the male male adapter I would need).

but $20 shipping brings that one above 40 total as well. Is it worth it? Anybody tried this WP-010 before?

I can't quite figure out how he perc works exactly in it either... Its different honeycomb than I'm used to seeing. It also doesn't have an adapter since it is already male 18mm which would directly connect to the LSV, but maybe that's not so good? My GB187 arrived yesterday and I was able to do some washing and testing. I requested one with no logo and that's what I received. Perc is straight and centered. Dewar is a little warped from the weld but it seals fine. Super clean weld on the mouthpiece and it is straight. Two parallel scratches down the length of the tube. Doesn't go all the way through and is barely noticeable. Some small scratches on the top and sides, but other than that, pretty clean. Now for the important: It hits nicely. Nice smooth pull with my cloud and even the solo. The base is solid. I even went so far as to put a Claisen on the 187 with the cloud inverted on the outer female joint and it held that heavy vape with no issue. I don't know that I'd walk away too far but it's not going to tip easily. Overall, I'm pleased with it, however, it just sucks that some have received faulty ones.

Has anyone received an outright replacement from yingmin? I feel like his typical form of compensation is a discount off your next order (didn't someone get half off their next order because they were sent the wrong thing?)

If shipping estimates on dhgate are accurate, shipping typically is the equivalent or close to the piece itself.

I'd say take a shot and ask for a replacement. But IMO, considering our expectations of Chinese glass and the price we paid, you might need to meet him "halfway" and accept a discount on the next order (I agree 10% is laughable though.)

If I paid 400 bucks for a mobius piece on the other hand, I'd be b*itching til the cows come home.

I feel your pain though, you unfortunately have a blemish that's not functionally a problem but can turn into one later. It's a more Grey area than a big fat crack that renders the piece completely useless (maybe you shouldve just busted it open before showing yingmin )

It seems like many of us have received pieces from China with small defects. Bubbles, scratches or similar. Parts not lined up perfectly, etc. My D020 has a small crack in the dewar area (someone else had one here too). I think of these more as a "fracture", because it appears stable. I'm not concerned about mine, heck, I've gotten my money's worth already. If it breaks, I'll order a new one.

I think it's prudent to expect some of these flaws, and not be too critical. It just goes with the price we are paying. I suspect that folks who haven't noticed any of these in their China pieces aren't looking very closely NOT being critical of anyone's decision to complain a bit or return your piece. I'm just saying, if you want a reality check, walk in to your LHS and check prices on similar pieces. This stuff is a TENTH of the price you would pay there. Can't reasonably expect the same level of QC IMHO.

yeah unfortunately a couple of my china pieces have small cracks that don't seem to impair function now, but not sure how long it will take for that to change. If it makes you feel any better, I have a higher priced american made 5mm thick bubbler that has a HUGE crack running under the perc where it was welded to the bottom of the can, that I have used for almost 2 years now with no issue, just looks bad. I had expected it to leak or fail by now, but it's still holding on. I imagine if I were to drop it or bang it too hard, that might be the end, but so far its still a cosmetic defect that I just live with. It is an unfortunate side to buying cheaper glass, but if you can live with it, I'd move on and just enjoy the bubbler anyway. Shipping back might be more expensive than buying a second piece at a discount. If it leaks water, it's not cosmetic and that would be a deal breaker for me. DHgate does offer you the option to claim your order isn't correct, but as they mentioned earlier, it's a holiday, and will probably slow down response time until middle of next week.

I would first try to decide how much diffusion you want and also how big of a piece are you looking for? More diffusion will give you a smoother hit at the cost of flavor. The choices you are asking about differ in size and diffusion. With the LSV are you more of a sipper or do you take big hits?

The WP-010 is alot bigger than the other pieces but does not have very much diffusion:

Some of your questions are better suited for the LSV thread IMO since there would be more people to help you. Buying the D020-K does not sound like a good strategy, sure it has a male joint and would directly connect with the LSV heater but are you really going to try to pack a bowl in the bubbler? This is based on my understanding of how the LSV works, I could be mistaken.....

I think a few people have ordered the D020-T but size wise its more in line with the D020 (12.5cm can vs 12cm can in the D020)

The G18 also has a similarly sized can as D020-T. Nothing wrong with this size if you like it. Many of the sunshinestore pieces give you the size in the pictures.

Seems like with yingman5 you would be taking a bigger risk than sunshinestore of getting a less than perfect piece, but design wise I feel like the GB-187/GB-186 is superior to the G18. The G18 should have the joint coming in at the bottom so its not obstructing bubble stackage (kind of the point of a "birdcage" perc).

How big is your bong that you want to replace? The WP010, GB-186, and GB-189 (review here) seem to be the largest volume bubblers. Whatever you decide on let us know how it goes!

Does yours work with the cloud without a claisen? @Stu pairs up with the cloud but another I tried had the joint too recessed for a decent connection. Might have to roll the dice lol

Straight up demand more! Just say that 10% is nowhear near reasonable. You purchased from him specifically over other sellers because you were told that he had great customer service, and now you are being served with a defective item and some sort of sideways incentive to give him MORE money? Why should you buy from him again?
I'd go nuts if someone offered me 10% off my next purchase.. In fact, I did recently! The fucking bastards.
I got a USB Hub from Satechi and it was faulty, so I demanded a new one and they offered me 10% off their store.. In the end I got them to send a new one and let me keep the old one in the meantime, and then after the replacement was scratched slightly I emailed them for 3 weeks until they fucking sent ANOTHER one.

Don't give up and don't let people fuck you around. Say that FuckCombustion is boycotting him as a result of this and just get a replacement!

After he tried to low ball me and explain how common it is for glass to be cracked, I ended up getting a $11 refund. A bit unhappy on how long it took to get, but its alright. Ended up paying $35.60 for the piece which is fine by me.. lol

The 187 is great. There are pic and vids in this thread within the last 20 pages, keep looking.

I am loving mine. The perc came a little crooked but I really don't mind that, I can just tilt the piece a bit to even it out. I find it works best with my Solo but the Nano can milk that baby up.

@Aaron My GB-186 was packed very well but the box was kind of flimsy. I posted a video of the unboxing several pages back. Tons of Bubble wrap and a little bit of 4/20 Chinese newspaper(the movie times and a Soccer Story I think). The entire box was wrapped in bubble wrap and the address label was stuck to the bubble wrap. A sturdier box would be better.

I have received 2 replacements for. Yingmin. No problems.

I guess I find no reason to complain. This would have cost me at least $250 if it came from my LHS and at that price I would be upset about the tilt but at this point, for <$50, this thing rocks. Since the only other bub I had before this was the infamous, this thing is light years from what I was used to and well worth the risk and small price.

Grav labs has some nice stuff. And, there are many others out there who do decent stuff at a reasonable price, too.

Buying cheap Chinese glass is just that. Cheap Chinese glass. I agree with what most said here about the cracked piece from YingMin. That sucks and shouldn't be like that. 10% off is a joke, and IMO $11 refund is fair.

But, keep in mind this is always going to be a crapshoot with pieces this cheap and bulk free shipping via cargo ship.

Don't get me wrong... I love my cheap Chinese pieces and have been pretty much lucky with them. But reasonably priced higher quality US glass is out there. It's not $30-$50 a piece shipped, but there are a few places to get stuff in the $100 - $150 range that is superior. He's got some other nice stuff on his ioffer site, and others post their glass on ioffer. My jhanpixel is solid, has much better workmanship, is larger and functions without a hitch.

Go back and troll the first 100 pages or so of this thread for many more options. Search on a brand name (or website name), or just scroll through and look for pictures and links.

On the other hand, if you'd rather spend less than $50 on inferior, spotty QC'd, nearly slave labor created glass - go for it! I have and enjoy a couple pieces like this regularly. But, please don't be surprised about long hard to track shipping times, spotty workmanship, inconsistencies between pieces, and crappy customer service.

It's the same with this stuff as with anything else. There are exceptions, but pretty much you get what you pay for. To expect different is like expecting a burger from McDonald's dollar menu to be as good as an organic buffalo burger at an upscale restaurant. Or, to pick up a 1/4 of schwag for $20 and expect the same flavor and results as a fire hybrid that's been well bred for a few generations. I'm not saying the McD burger or the schwag aren't good or worth it - only that top quality for cheap is a rarity. Top quality for a reasonable price is tough enough. Go check out ALT compared to jhanpixel or other reasonable US blowers and you'll see what I mean.

Maybe we need a new thread for "Reasonably priced, high quality bubbler??" ?

Zero question. I want this piece bad. But, I'm not spending $150 on a piece of glass (at this time).
