Tracking on my 187 says it made it to San Francisco on the 15th, but I haven't seen any updates since then... Anyone experience delays like that? A little worried because my D020 was delivered 2-3 days after it hit SF.

Same experience on some items.
Looks like the end of this week.
I have a piece as well in SF.
Some stuff I used twice and haven't use since?
I like it however I use the latest instead.
I'm kind of out of control!

Is it just me or are others over collecting as I am?

I'm even looking at buying more vaporizers?

VAS & GAS I guess?

I'm guessing it's USPS.

With my last two SunShine orders they where at my local PO the day after hitting US soil. My GB-187 has taken five days this time. Out for delivery as we speak,.

I expected this around x-mas time. Strange it is happening now. Maybe it's the summer heat, prioritizing frozen/cold items,

They should know how much I need my newest piece of glass, geez

So guess who came up with a cool (h)idea and didn't bother researching it?

This guy!

As it turns out glass etching compounds and boro don't play well together. I'm not terribly discouraged though. I have been doing some research about sand blasting glass and I think its something I am totally willing to give a shot once I round up equipment. Sorry to dissapoint for now but hopefully I'll have some cool stuff to show off in the near future.

What are you using for an etching solution. I have some hydrofluoric acid etching solution used for etching vin numbers in car windows...if I can find it...I wonder if that will work? It is really NASTY stuff though.:science:

Edit:
Tracking for my 186 has been stuck in Jersey City since 5/19 at 2:20AM

Its hobby lobby stuff. I THINK hydrofluoric acid would work but I'm not sure how comfortable I am working with something so toxic. I am pretty sure I can convince SWMBO that we need a sandblasting setup so hopefully within a month or so I will be up and running.

I will see if I can find what I thnk I have.. It is in a little plastic vial with a sponge dabber like a tiny bingo marker thing. It was done by dabbing over a stencil. Nasty stuff with a fairly safe application.

im going to have to say that a crack is not an imperfection - if your piece is cracked, it's broken. on glass trading groups, a cracked piece is a broken piece and those guys are the true glass connesseurs. it's kind of bullshit that they would send you a cracked piece.

At least it was cheap? I mean that's the point of this whole thing, isn't it?
Hey @Caligula I know the NANO works with everything (I Found)!
Now the SOLO the smaller bubblers work better. The D020-T I use ever since I received it. For the SOLO get one. Trust Me: OK it's simple & basic however it works very well. just before lunch.

Having bought several pieces from different vendors (both domestic and foreign, all Chinese made). It seems like these are made in a factory, then immediately wrapped up and tossed in a box.

I doubt anyone looks at this glass once it's been made and wrapped up. Hell, I just bought a piece from thickassglass, and it was wrapped in fresh bubblewrap, but when I dug into the box, I found the inner layer of bubblewrap was a very familiar nasty yellow bubblwrap identical to the stuff on my Sunshinestore pieces.

Yea but even Dave Goldstein sells seconds? I know it's not he same but... i mean common... 30 bucks. Hard to be mad if it's still 100% functional especially if you know the risks of ordering this stuff beforehand.

I have domestic ($300) and imported frits ($30).
Not overly impress regardless of were it's made!

Just my shatter dabber!

I've had the same exact piece. It was at a local headshop for about 100 bucks. It's actually a Jedeye clone, I have both. Here's one that'll shock ya, I actually like the clone better! Granted it doesn't funnel as well as the Jedeye but it is such a smooth piece. Cools very well and as you can see there a double reinforced weld on there.

Nice pick up Ataxian!

Anytime you guy's are shopping recyclers the main thing I personally look for is how your water is brought to your funnel. If you notice with the piece that ataxian has pictured you can see the water is directly injected into the bulb. To me that was a red flag as most functional recylers come in at an angle like this:

_timthumb.php

This almost guarantees a nice funnel. With that being said I have learned to appreciate just the cooling effects and draw without the funnel. Shit, I have a few fucking expensive pieces that don't funnel either! It's because they don't have to. To be a function cycler all it has to do is exactly that - RECYCLE! lol

Don't let anyone tell you different! Doesn't matter if they funnel (or vortex), if they're doing the job than I say go for that shit!

got my (Kathy) recycler today, it is the one in the picture that I originally ordered, got here pretty quick too, even beat the 187 I ordered a few days earlier. :D it works quite well for the size and even fits the Lotus with a bit of silicone tubing as the adapter... The "extra" pipe they sent is a tiny dab rig (pendant) but is sooo cute. 10mm connect. I took pics right away, next to my (cloudy) D020 for size comparison. I don't know if they are still offering this exact model recycler, as the one on the same link now looks slightly different. I didn't notice any major flaws, welds look pretty good, feels like at least 3mil glass. Over all, I'm happy.

Here's a vid using the Lotus, I'd say this one puts it about as close to my face as I can stand and is very similar to the way the "infamous $40 pipesdaddy" bub works w/lotus. I like the way it recycles. I'm not getting any splash back with all this water. I used silicone tube to connect the lotus to the male joint.

Here's the Pendant rig... does work... doubt I'll ever wear it around my neck, but it's cute and a nice souvenir of the times we are in right now. Also my first 10mm mini piece :D

still messing around, I stuck a low-pro reducer on top of the male joint using some silicone to hold it in place, feels pretty stable. Keeps the lotus at a reasonable height for seeing the top.
