Can I tell you guys the story of some american glass...?
It's that minitube i mentioned before...
There are cracks all around the joint. It was like that when i brought it home from the shop. The cracks spiderweb and wander, so they're legitimate cracks, not just funky scratches. I can't get a picture of them. They're too fine, I need a flashlight to get it to be noticeable in pictures. It's a 2 person job, i'll try eventually.
Does anybody here have any experience with fine cracks like i described in your glass? Do they spread quick? I'm asking because I wonder how long the tube will last...
So the story begins about a week ago... I was tired of my china glass, so I bought a minitube for $89. When I got home, I noticed it had a crack on the weld by the joint. I called that night, and they apologized right away and said return it for another tomorrow. So the next day I went to get it exchanged for another tube at $145, thinking by upping my quality i would never have this issue again. I paid the difference and ran out the door with a nice worked little minitube. I felt i got it for a steal.
I got home, and as I was looking it over carefully I noticed this tube has worse cracks than the first. They're finer cracks, but they spiderweb and surround about 3/4 of the joint. I emailed the shop with my phone number, they called the next day saying they would see what they could do, but there were no apologies this time. I hadn't even used it yet, so I don't know why they wouldn't just say bring it back again. I gave them my number in the email hoping I'd get a call saying just come on down and we'll figure something out, It never happened.
I was done. Since I had already spent $60 in gas getting there, I said fuck it and kept the cracked tube. I didn't wanna make that $90 just in gas. They obviously weren't going to help me this time. then to top it all off, the brand new quartz nail I got cracked on the first heat-up. I couldn't help but laugh. And also, when I got home I noticed the minitube was lighter in weight than every other piece of glass I own, yet taller, meaning it was thinner glass...
I sent them another email with my experience at the shop, and that i would take an un-cracked tube to keep my mouth shut any day.
I never got a return email I guess it's fair game...
Fuck Primal of Wilkesbarre PA. Every tube they have is cracked apparently, they don't have a care in the world for their glass or their customers. On my first visit I was kept from looking around by an employee pushing for a sale. On the second I witnessed an employee, who i found out later was that stores manager, throw a flux nail into a piece so hard it made a noise I still hear ringing in my head. I'm not surprised their glass is all cracked. Then one employee just wandered around aimlessly on both visits. She knew nothing about glass too. She couldn't even pick a 14 mm quartz nail from the bins beneath the counter. She had to ask for help. Then the person she asked for help was almost just as bad.
I have nothing good to tell you guys about my visits to Primal. They have some nice glass to look at, but know it's all cracked, you can only look. It's a waste to buy anything. You'll get pushed into a sale. You will not have knowledgeable employees. And if you happen to buy something it's gonna be cracked, or at least it'll crack soon.
So, does anyone think this tube will last more than a month? Will I atleast get my money worth?
***And i'm posting this here because its great proof that american glass is overpriced for the quality or service. Steven would have just sent me another both times. Headshops suck. Fuck em' all.
