you'll need a gong (glass on glass) adapter too, 18mm (for the pieces above).. and that's it!
Thank you so much! The research begins.

Where would you recommend that I get a 18mm gong adapter?

New glass purchasers might want to avoid anything by Steve. He still hasn't shipped something I ordered at the beginning of February and the other item I ordered at the same time finally shipped and will get here at the end of March. Maybe. Two-three months for glass that I would have received already if I'd ordered from one of the other known sellers.

I dislike Steven but I don't think that your point is reasonable. CNY is just finishing up. Slow shipping out of China at this time of year is standard.

I placed two orders from him several weeks before the Lunar new year and both arrived in a timely manner. I've had slower from Kathy and Sunshinestore in the past. At this point, as long as I think it is actually in stock, I'm not concerned about posting from any of these commonly used sellers.

I think it's more complicated than that. There are quite a few people who ordered around the same time I did from other sellers who have already received their order or whose order is on the way.

It's almost always more complicated than that with Chinese vendors. Throw in CNY and it all gets a few weeks worse. Don't think it's right to assume much with these vendors - like first order in definitely means first order shipped. This doesn't seem to be the case often. They are probably calling items in stock when they get word from their blowers they are on the way (or earlier in the process). Those blowers may not even be in the same region as the sellers - in a very large country without the infrastructure most of us are used to. Probably many other similar circumstances, also. Then - the whole country shuts down for a few weeks.

Really hope all get what they ordered sooner rather than later, but timing is probably not best to base on what someone else received whenever. CNY could add 3 weeks or more to your order if it was ordered anytime in February through now (or later) - or it may not depending on how that order was handled. And, don't forget it is probably going to take at least a few days to catch up from the shutdown - from our vendors, to the blowers, to the guys that transport them around and out of the country, and probably others in the process.

Hang in there, and give the process 3 or 4 more weeks than normal. Such is how these things go. IIRC, was pretty much the same with glass from same and similar vendors last year. Haven't looked myself, but would guess the this thread then will show the same. Ordering from DHGate isn't the same as ordering from Amazon all year. Ordering in the 6 week period we're coming to an end of makes a complicated process we don't really understand that much worse.

I've been buying cheap Hong Kong and Chinese gadgets from places like DX.com since they first started the free shipping epackets.

It was just two or three years ago that these shipments routinely took 2 or more months to arrive. I recall one order I forget about arriving 4+ months later.

But since then, we've all become spoiled by stuff like Netflix's streaming video and Amazon Prime's fast free shipping that we start to flip out today of we have to make do without our prize from halfway around the world for more than one weekend.

So I guess my tolerance for less than prompt delivery is pretty high, and I'm a patient MMJ patient, but things are better than they've ever been in this regard.

However, if it is your first amazingly discounted order, I can understand the excitement and anticipation could be maddening. If you are this person, I suggest you begin ordering something from dhgate every week or two for the next few months to ensure a steady supply of fresh glass. Your spouse or significant other will thank me for f
this advice.

Doesnt make much sense to me how people that ordered from Steven WAY after I did already have their stuff and mine hasnt moved.

I agree something doesnt add up. Im not calling the guy dishonest or saying people dont buy from him but its been a month since my piece entered tracking, WAY before CNY and it hasnt moved. Id sure love to know why that is.

I order a piece about every week or every other week. Be it from America or China that way i always have something on the way. I never get tired of any particular piece this way. I also retain a certain admiration for all my pieces as well this way. I learned the hard way the waits can stretch from 7 days to 3months. Be it American or Chinese shit
happens and that shit can cause all sorts of unforeseen delays

I think it is hardest when it's your first time ordering and you really need that glass yesterday. I suggest a first time buyer order one piece from two different sellers just to play the odds that one will be quicker than the other by a significant number of days.

@ragnorak71 thanks for the update on the large pillar. I almost ordered it last night, but the 2 month wait for something that doesn't actually exist held me back. But I'm going to go order it right now.

While true, the Chinese New Year did impact shipping (pretty much every order in February was delayed).

It should be noted, Steven has done a "pre-order" several times recently where he takes orders before they finish making them. I don't agree with that aspect of his business. Though he does seem to ship eventually.

It also really depends on where you check the tracking number. I find the most accurate tracking information in the DHgate.com system while the package is still in China. USPS.com isn't really helpful for tracking E-packets until it hits the USA and USPS processes the shipment through the border.

I have had glass ship from Shinshinestore take 10 days on average, and one order got stuck for over a month with no updates. It happens, it's USPS.

Steven isn't the best vendor on DHgate, but he is listening to our requests for glass, and modifying his designs based on our feedback. I give him a lot of credit for his patience in dealing with us.

@PoopMachine I'm thinking our stuff is stuck in US customs. The first clearing of customs was for China. I would imagine they have to go through US customs once stateside. This probably happens before the USPS gets their hands on the package, so that might be why there is no tracking update. Customs, in both countries, would seem to be the real x factor in determining time. I would imagine steven's stuff is coming into the country and going through customs at the same location. Even then I would imagine it gets split into different groups and that is why some are processed through faster than others. Ours are probably in the same group, with some lazy dude at the controls.

I'm thinking that Steven needs to raise his prices a bit to compensate for bribing the right officials in China.

Actually I think the problem is that there is a black hole somewhere between Steven and the shipping facility, and sometime some things on the way to shipping drop in the hole and disappear for a few days to a month or more. Other things he ships skirt the hole and arrive at normal speed or even fast. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to what drops in the hole and what makes it past.
There used to be another hole near Kathy, but it either moved over near Steven or dissipated and Steven got his own...
Or not. It's only a theory...

tell that to steve,

In 1982 the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, along with Nova and a few other tv crews and teams followed the flow of packages back.

After 4 different continents and 3 moons, many tiring years and thousands of encounters with many hostile, cannabalistic, indigenous populations (both human and of unknown origion), along with Invertebrates the likes of which could kill. They finally ascended onto the precipice of what could only be described as you have.

As you may all have guessed, Steve was a curious cat, and as he leaned too far over the edge, a dhgate bub was caught in the gravity causing it to hurtle into steve disrupting his balance.

It was of grave misfortune that they were all harnessed together.

The only account of such incidents are the cameras they dropped. Much of this is classified tho. But sometimes on a dark and stormy night, if you are lucky enough to get a clear patch of sky and catch your bubbler in a complete ray of the rare full bluemoon, you can look deep into the reflection on your bubbler, and you can still see him and his team on the otherside....

Does anyone have a link to the Kathy Egg? Is this it? http://www.dhgate.com/store/product/2015-feb-newest-glass-bong-9-quot-inches/229098432.html I can't search "egg" on FC because the term is too short and dhgate has a horrible search.

I remember seeing an egg on here that looked interesting. I am wondering how something like this would pair with an EVO or a Herbalizer assuming I could get the right glass pieces for pairing. I already have some adapters so might be able to make it work.

Also, does anyone have a recommendation for various converters on dhgate like 18mm female to 18 mm female or 18 mm female to 14 mm female? Is the quality of these adapters good? I have bought from Oregon Mike before and his adapters are great but I'd like to get several male/female adapters of various sizes and lengths to deal with the slew of pieces that only have male parts. I also want to be able to hack together my own all glass paths from my herbalizer to the water tools I plan to acquire over time from dhgate. It would be easiest just to drop $30 or $40 bucks on a bunch of different adapters so I can "make" something work with the various sizes I will have.
