Cheap High Quality Bubbler

At the top of the mouthpiece, 9 1/2".

Wow that's perfect. I'm not sure if I'd want something bigger right now.

As for the the whip, I'd suggest switching to some silicone tubing. I'm guessing the stuff from Lowe's is clear PVC, and according to vaporpedia, "Do not replace whip tubing with off-the-shelf tubing from your local hardware store. Replacement tubing should be food grade and rated for high temperature use."

Not sure if you knew this or not, just want to be safe. It's also much easier to slide on and off the adapters and stretches to different sizes much better (silicone).

Its only a temp fix. Because of the size, I have an insert on the MFLB side. Heat shouldn't be an issue. The tubing I bought is food grade and rated up to 175 degrees. I'm going to order some actual size 6 (same size) whip tubing this week.

I have also enjoyed this thread. Some interesting options for people low on cash what want to try a few things. Also I imagine you could resell one of these cheap pieces for pretty close to what you paid for it.

Would love to see a video from SD_Haze with what that hand held blubber does! Some photos would be awesome too!

Update. Decided to try the new bubbler with a 2' whip. Holy vapor mallet, Batman! One hit of God's Gift, milked 1/2 the trench on single pull... feel like someone hit me with a brick of STONED!

Found another bubbler, I think falls into our "cheap" category. The OP defined it as sub $80-100... but, I think we can let it pass. Plus, I like their stuff. Kulture has several larger water pipes, I'd like the pleasure of owning. Though, I'm not particularly fond of the female end on the draw tube, with this piece. Makes it look sort of unbalanced to me.

How long was the whip you where using?

I could tell a difference right away switching from a 36" to 18" whip. I wonder how short is too short?

I was so ready to pull the trigger on the $40 bubbler, just to find out they only accept CC, :ugh: . So I ordered a:

hydrator-clear-vaporbrothers_lg1.jpg

Vaporbrothers CLEAR Precision Glass Hydrator™
For only $120. From what I hear it is 5mm glass. It looks just like the $40 bubbler but uses 18mm instead of 14mm for the downstem. Not sure if that makes much of a difference or not.

They also have a CLEAR Mini Hydrator for $100 (OOS at the moment though), w/ no removable mouthpiece.

Don't know minimum. I started out with 1', which worked fine... just a bit unwieldy to shake the trench. 2' is perfect and the whip wraps nicely around the bubbler, between rips.

Yeah, the Vaporbros is niiiiice. If not for my $$$ shortage, it would been my preferred choice. The fitting on mine, is 18mm btw, not 14. The two $40 and $120 are the same... just the difference in glass. Mine isn't 5mm glass.

Pics when you get it. I really want to see that diffuser.

Got this one in the mail yesterday, from Amsterdam, after like 2 weeks or so:

It's sold out now :( but it was like $55. Hits really nice - virtually no drag, stacks a bit too. Not all the arms fire, however. I have to say - this alone, makes the best bubbler I've bought, and tried so far (not many, and all cheap).

I bought some super expensive glass a week ago, while waiting for this thing, but I have a feeling I might stick with this one instead. It's big enough to be a bubbler, but small enough to hold.

Hey all, I've been watching this thread the whole way to see what cropped up.

I'm considering getting the same type of setup as BigDaddyVapor—seems a cost efficient way to try water filtration with my mflb. One question though: does the 1/4 I.D. tubing fit the adaptor that came with the bubbler? Or were you talking about the ALT adaptor posted earlier?

Also, where can I get that size (1/4 I.D.) of a vape-safe whip online? I found a few things but I was having trouble getting the right size of just tubing.

Longbones,

@BigDogJunction
Just get silicone tubing. Its harder to find, more $$$... but its safe for humans, can handle the heat and is very pliable. Look for 1/4" ID silicone. The stuff I was looking at today (wrong ID), was 1/16" wall thickness. So, it will fit over the 5/16" (whip side), of the 18mm fitting that comes with the bubbler and the 1/4" of the MFLB stem

This stuff, will work. LINK

I just have a feeling that both would be pretty hard to clean.

I picked up PV's Tree Perc bub and have no issue with cleaning at all (and I combust as well), with just 99% ISO and some salt.

Oops, you were right SD! Sorry about that.

Sorry collegerower, I'm not much of a media type and don't usually post personal pics/vids. Maybe in the future, but I'm comfortable where I'm at at the moment.

How do you fill it up and clean the upper portions? How do like it in general with vapour in particular?

I just fill and swish on its side and its done fine.

In general, I find it a little large in volume for the Solo to work efficiently. However, I'm hopeful with the release of PV's new styled stems (and hopefully a GonG of the same design) will take care of that.

Really? It's such a small bubbler though? Guys have milked bigger glass pieces on here forsure. Would you think the 14mm inline PV carries would be better?

I havn't picked that one up yet and prob won't since I grabbed the hand bub mentioned earlier. At the same time, I don't vape at high temps and prefer to dab with them or combust kief hits.

Hey all! BigDaddyVape, thanks for the response. I was all set to get that same bubbler, but the site requires your billing address to be the same as your shipping—fixable by sending in a photo I.D. to them, which I don't really want to deal with (I go to college in a different state than my card is registered to).

I ended up getting this guy: http://www.grasscity.com/us_en/black-leaf-sunny-afternoon-inline-perc-scientific-glass-bubbler.html

which I think belongs in this thread! It's $88 but I was able to find a 20% off coupon with a quick google search—shipping was obscene, of course (E.U. glass), but it came out to be the same as the normal price w/ free shipping after the coupon. Neatly fits under the $100 mark.

Black Leaf isn't the best, but is at the upper end of china glass, from what I've heard. Seems like good glass for less than the price of most others—it's even inline like the headford bubbler, which I've heard is great for water diffused vaping.

Also got the 14mm whip adaptor off of ALT, and the tubing BigDaddyVape linked. From the earlier discussion, it seems like they'll fit together. It was this or get the MFLB water pipe adaptor, but one thing I don't like about the MFLB adaptor is that to use it the box must be at a certain angle, and stationary—and that angle won't be horizontal with the bubbler I ordered. I like the idea of the whip because I can keep the box completely horizontal, and even shake it around while heating (which I sometimes do to keep temps relatively low and even while building good vapor).

Haha sorry for the essay—really excited!! I've spent way too much money on vapor equipment recently, but if it lets me toke with no to minimal irritation so that I an be at 100% for my sports, that's all that matters. :D

Great news Longbones! That looks like a nice inline, for those who can't afford a Headford, hehehe. How was the feeling of vaporbonging with it?

I come from photography as a hobby, talk about a sinkhole for glass, :D.

I here you there. I started with a minimal budget just to get "started" in vaping. Had no clue what any of the jargon meant, then I joined FC, :).

For me its all worth it. A couple hundred bucks now can save you thousands later on meds, medical bills and your health.

I :love:vaping. Can't wait to try a bubbler.

Ah sorry—I haven't received it yet, just finally placed the order. :D I'm a little worried because it's not guaranteed to be well-made, but I think the gamble's worth it considering it's so cheap for an inline.

Was tempted by a few other things as well. Speaking of which, I tried to order the bubbler BigDaddyVape got from gogopies.com, and was blocked because of differing shipping/billing addresses. BUT, I found out this morning that they charged my debit card anyway! Bad business practice—they seem willing to make up for mistakes, though, so I'll keep you all posted on the resolution. Just be careful, all.

Well, that's disturbing to hear. I wrote the admin@pipesdaddy.com address. Whoever responded, is the one that apologized for the delay (he claimed they were out of stock, on Saturday, were getting more and would ship on Monday or Tuesday. he held true to that). He also refunded my shipping costs, of almost $10. So I only paid $39.95 total.

I would hate to see my recommendation, lead to someone else getting ripped off.
