Please excuse me if the following question has been asked before, I didn't read the whole thread...

Is the above bong that @LesPlenty linked to recommended? I ask because I've seen a similar bong in Troy's videos and therefore just naively assume it's good. Also i just like the looks.

If recommended, are there any other versions of it for sale on DHGate? Unfortunately JCGlass does not ship to Switzerland. I have searched DHGate, but have not found this bong on any other store (although DHGate's search is not the best, so I may have missed something).

I do see the same bong at lacentralevapeur.com, but it is clearly too expensive for me there.

Yes that is a solid looking straight fab, instead of FOL or ratchet fountain perc it has a fountain honeycomb disc, as a result there might be a little more restriction hitting it at first, maybe similar to a frit in that way, but still nice diffusion and airflow I'm sure...

However it is made by JC Glassshop and they are the only ones who sell it on DHgate (it is resold by cannabis hardware for much more money) so you would have to go to the aftermarket, sometimes they pop up on the exchange etc.

They are technically designed as dab rigs, I prefer other styles for dabbing though, I think they are pretty perfect for herbal vaporizing primarily and that is how I use them exclusively

All right, thank you. Unfortunately, I'm not yet so happy with vaporizing the TM2 through glass. I have a 14mm glass stem with a fixed glass screen from SneakyPete and don't find it particularly impressive.

I'm curious to see if I'll like vaporizing herbs better with the glass pipes from DHGate and the tinymigh.t_bowl WPA. --> EDIT: I do now, the right combo (TM2 + Honeycomb from DHGate + Tinymight.t_bowl) did the trick.

If you put the water level low and it becomes a lot less restricted and better for dabs in my opinion, but the swiss perc becomes nonfunctional. I have other pieces I like better for dabs so I never use it for that outside of experimenting with it.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I don't have the opportunity to buy proper concentrates for dabbing (illegal EU country). I would therefore probably only use it for herbs (and possibly homemade rosin using a hair straightener).

She fixed my broken Sherlock Shredder, AliExpress cheapo Swiss perc ash-catcher and tried to make a flower injector bowl, but unfortunately made it to accept a 14mm head and not the requested 18... oh well, still happier than a ("toxic" ) pig in shit...!!

I had never seen a recycler with a removeable mouthpiece before, tho I admittedly never really searched for one specifically either, just figured I'd ask her if she'd be interested in producing one... she didn't want to do what I had envisioned, citing a risk of failure, and I dont blame her, stick with what you know... I can dig it. I wanted a simple female joint just above the maria, centered ON TOP of the can, or a sunk dewar would (might?) be even better...! She didn't want to do it that way and I can understand why, it's a 'Sherlock', afterall, duhhh!

And I LOVE Sky Glass, always have, all their shit, too, but it's more than I like to spend... I paid THG $210 with my personal "indefinite" 30% off code and then she charged me $60 to fix the swiss perc ash catcher, (fixing the Sherlock Shredder was FREE!), make the injector flower bowl and the redesign/custom work for the Sherlock Recycler... and I made her take an extra $20 to cover the shipping... so, under $300 for everything... I'd call that cheap!

Was time to upgrade from the old HiGuy big bong and mega globe and nice to have options.

You're not wrong. 18 to 14 isn't so bad with the little reducers and I do have some laying around. Much more elegant than the 14 to 18's. I just can't get over hitting the buy button KNOWING it's 18mm, so I couldn't do it with that particular piece, but like you, I'd adapt if one showed up mistakenly.

Oh I think you would have been fine to get the inline honeycomb with slits facing down in 14 mm, still would be solid enough, however I of course recommend getting the 18 with the side slits, and then getting some 18-14 dropdown adapters, not only do they make it easy to switch sizes, they will keep your water cleaner, add a little extra cooling, help keep the vape bowl etc out of your face lower down and off to the side as well!

Thanks! I will follow up with my thoughts after I've tried them. That one does look very similar to one of your links doesn't it, but like you mention, slightly smaller. I plan on keeping that piece in my locking hard resin case I use as a vape kit as sort of the main one always with my main kit, so I needed it to be max 9 inches to fit. Those ones you posted are in the 9-9.5" range according to their 23-24 cm height, so I was right on the line. I try to keep most of my stuff in those hard waterproof cases as it really cuts down on the smell in the house.

They're so cheap in general that it makes it easy to just go for it. I've always wanted to try one of those big tube ones with the honeycomb in there so thought what the heck.

Good idea on the drop downs too. They definitely go a long way towards keeping your glass clean. Was thinking I could use the wpa drop down I bought with water connected to one of the others without any water.

Best thing since sliced bread (except I am an 18mm fan so use 14-18mm on the few 14mm rigs I have).
These are also great as fuses, I have broken quite a few el-cheapo drop-downs instead of the bong...the only reason I have not got a decent version drop-down from glass blowers on here.

In my opinion, it doesn't look particularly pretty in the pictures on DHGate. In real life, however, it looks super cool, a very unique, straightforward design. Also very sturdy. So I'm more than positively surprised by the look.

So far I've vaped the TM2 on the Tinymigh.t_bowl WPA and the DynaVap Helix tip on a Titanium WPA (14mm to 18mm with an S adapter). Both work great, especially with the TM2 I get huge clouds with very smooth vapor and good taste. I really like this thing!

Pretty sure that’s the Fc199 MP. Sometimes I’ll use it with the Mod and yea, really wide open. Need some good restriction at the source and/or adapters to make it worth it imo. I luvs it, comfortable lol. The small SAML flared & dimpled MP with the Mod is great too

It just goes to show how personal mouthpieces are...I really like the FC199 version pictured above and also prefer minimal restriction and have only used the OG straw-type mouthpiece that comes standard a few times and did not like the restriction.
