@biohacker please let me know when you find the dropdown that matches that mobius clone. I cant hit concentrates at all on that rig and I like it for the high diffusion when necessary. Need to drop that halo down a good 4 inches to see in the dish!

I'll take a picture of the one i'm rocking ATM for you!

Looks like you need a Dewar joint drop down, that is why I linked the Grav Labs one.

How do you know it's for dewaar joints? Can't see any reference to it?

Almost there...
How do you know it's for dewaar joints? Can't see any reference to it?

I thought the Dewar joints were the ones not level with the top of the WT, so I thought you needed one that had a longer joint to attach to the WT.
Seems like I am wrong, so will leave this up to the pro's and stop searching.
Never had a need for one and don't see the need for my use. Just trying to help out!

This is the reason I called it a dewar... recessed joint

This one work?

I use these two, not sure how much it will help though. I'm assuming this has been brought up at least once in the past 1000 pages or so? I'm guessing it's either one of the Z or N adapters, hopefully Steven gets back soon! He sells the one mobius clone I use so I specifically asked him which of those two adapters would fit it.

Just based on what I perceive as common sense, I think a "Z" adapter would allow more clearance?
Easy man. Just want to check something. Am I imagining it, or do those 2 different coloured CCG bongs look different? To me it looks like the greenish (or blueish) one has a noticeably shorter neck, and it looks kind of crimped a lot more as well.

For me the attraction of this piece is the height and length of neck. Any shorter and it would not be the same. So if I end up getting one of these I would certainly contact them first to check.

I cannot buy anything from Dhgate atm. Had to cancel a bank card and the system is refusing to allow me to add a new one. I have been testing out the good and bad of Dhgate customer service and problem resolution.
2 unanswered messages, unreturned email to safertycenter, on advice.

3 live chats over 10 days later and at last I have some advice. I need a letter from the bank tp say my old card is invalid.
What a PITA just to update a bankcard. I need some glass too.

@biohacker would this shape give enough clearance?

Unfortunately, impossible to know.

Are these worth the extra money for the seed of life perc over the standard matrix perc, or should I just get one to find out for myself?

I find the matrix perc purrs! So smooth.... I love that water tool, especially the mouthpiece. The SOL perc is awesome too, but slightly more chuggier IMO. The matrix piece has slightly more flow.

@biohacker would this shape give enough clearance?

I had high hopes, but sadly they didn't work either :(

I wanted to try that so bad?
Many said it was too dangerous 4 me?
My DOCTOR said: "no problem"
I guess bloger's know more than DR.'s?

@Alexis I like the top one better.

Might have to grab one! Only problem is that I can't stand those "flat" style mouthpieces, they feel so non ergonomic. But is does eliminate my dewaar drop down dilemma

With my SOL rig, I find if I put both lips against the flat mouthpiece, it takes more pull to fire and I don't really like it, whereas if I shift my lips down a bit and put my bottom lip slightly under the mp it forms a seal a lot easier IMO and doesn't feel like I'm breathing through my nose.

Got a pink one on the way - will certainly report. Ordered without their new gold logo.

Bitchin! Let us know how she purrs! Looks like a great vapor tube!

Fuck! I broke my rare and prized dewaar fitting drop down last night! I was just putting my glass piece away (with the drop down on it) and it clipped the lip of the cupboard and that was that! (also paper thin) Guess i'll be checking if that HS restocks, otherwise it's time for some GAS shopping again! Non Dewaar! Still crickets from Stevenlmz79 regarding what the difference between N/Z adapters are. The only things that he doesn't show pictures of are adapters?

Item description: "All same as pictures". There are no pictures!

Biohacker....I use a clone can matrix....here is how I got around the fitment issue with these types of water units.

First off, you can just go this route for the easy fix....WIDE SIDE DROP TYPE
There are some drops that have a real wide gap at the top...but normally they are made with way too small thin glass tube sections. I broke a couple way too easy. So keep that in mind if you choose those.

I got one and use it on wider topped units. I would like to have it actually drop down....but it works to fit and moves it away from your face anyway.

I just add another 18 to 14 adapter and then the drop downs to give enough room to fit.

Then I did some minor glass cutting and used a much narrower 18mm downstem inside the main downstem. I always wanted to make the intake a much smaller condensed section that will give a bit more tighter draw/bubble. Now it hits so smooth and works better for my flowerpot and elev8r.

And it clears the main section by more than enough. Other dropdowns I have come closer but still fit.

And then my final tweak that made this piece work unbelievable (it always does though)......

A CARB HOLE This hole position is awesome. Makes cleaning easier too as it drains faster and such.

And I really like the real drop DOWN's that Thickassglass sells. But they do not have enough gap to fit the wider topped water units without a lift from an adapter....but the joint is super close to the main body.

Breaking the drop down was a blessing in disguise! Now I go direct and I swear there is an increased flow! Bit up close in the face but not so bad. Just need to clean the water tool more frequently. Liking it so far!

I would think most water units would get less draw resistance when you remove the drop down. It is the reason I like to use a drop down in the first place. I wanted some resistance on glass pieces that were too free flowing. By adding the drop down, I get slower action with just enough added draw resistance that is countered by not having to draw as long to get the same result.

So I shorten down my draw time per hit......and the cleaner main piece is the icing on the cake. I just love quickly cleaning out the bowl/screen and down stem in a couple mins. I only change water when it starts to smell bad. That can be from 1 to 5 days pending on what I put in it....lol

But if you still have strong lungs and want/like less draw resistance, adding a drop down may not be the best for your use.

So far, using the knock off matrix clones....single and stereo... are the ones I use drop downs all the time. Others I do not need them, (they are smaller units) and still like using them as the cleaning process is much better with the drop downs.
