Hello Everyone,
I have lurked on this forum for awhile now (this is my first post), but when I ordered my Cera I decided it was time to give back to the community!
I preordered a Cera on Dec. 12th, and it arrived last saturday (the 16th). Big shout out to Zeki for making sure it got out on friday so I could bring it to a friend's house and make some videos for you guys. I will also give my impressions after testing it normally, with glass, and with pipe and cigarette tobacco.
Before I get into all of this I feel I should describe my vaping experience. I have owned a Arizer Extreme Q (for just a few months before it got stolen, prompting me to preorder my Cera) and a Magic Flight Launch Box (was my "daily driver" tho i didn't quite use it daily, for about 6 months). I have also used both analog and digital Volcanoes, and a roommate's VaporBros.
So, the first thing I did when I got my Cera was bring it to my friend's house (medical patient w/ nice glass) unopened and make an unboxing video:
I apologize for the out of focus and lack of sound, but we didn't have time to make a huge production out of these. Anyways, after this I took my first hit. Having lived with a Launch Box for so long, I am aware of and used to the breath control required for fan-less vapes, and so I ended up exhaling a reasonable cloud. My reaction? I was extremely impressed. The best flavor I have ever experienced out of anything, and it started to hit me just about instantly. Frankly it made me feel bad for anyone who owns a Launch Box. Convection FTW! Call me shy, but I didn't upload the video of this- I can do so privately and post the password if people really want to se it.
Next, I hit the Cera with my best friend's Toro micro 7/13. This didn't look very impressive, and I didn't get much vapor, because frankly getting the O-ring to seal on a '14 joint is fiddly. You'll see what I mean in the video where my friend milks it. Frankly, this really isn't a big deal at all IMO. First of all, i'm sure one would get a feel for this with practice. Second, 18-14 adapters ain't exactly hard to come by. We had instant success with the '18 joint on my friend's Prototype Zobello perc Zob (prototype because he got it long before the Zobello perc was released)
This one looked pretty good to me, but honestly both my friend and I feel that the fact that I haven't yet come up with a latching switch mod held us back. Either way, after this we actually managed to milk the Toro Micro 7/13
I should mention that my friends, like me, were impressed by the quality and (to a slightly lesser degree) quantity of vapor coming out of the Cera. However, two of my friends who are seriously into dabbing both said basically "it's too much effort." I understand their position- there's a learning curve or two involved with the cera, and the lack of a latching switch is straight up inconvenient. However, they both wanted to try the oil version, as I suspect their views were largely colored by the fact that their tolerances prevent them from getting lots of return from anything but oil.
I have to get to work now, but really quickly, I also tried the cera with pipe tobacco and tobacco from a Nat Sherman Black and Gold cig. Flavor is unbelievable.
Cheers,
MPZ
