CERA, the wait & gibberish thread

I personally received this email yesterday after a question from me: (preorder on 24/12/12)

Orders have just begun to ship, but I still do not have an exact date for your shipment. I would still expect it to be shipping before the month is over. I have included the last email update we sent to our customers last week; some of the questions from your previous email were answered in this update.

Thank you sincerely for your continued support and patience during the Cera preorder. We know you are anxious to receive your Cera, and we want to make sure everything is perfect when you do, so please take a moment to read the following updates.

First, there has been some confusion regarding the type of batteries that will be used for Cera shipments. To clarify: orders will be shipped with 2250 mAH 18650 IMR batteries as opposed to 2900 mAH 18650 Protected Li-Co batteries. As a token of our appreciation, we will be shipping one additional 2250 mAH battery to everyone who ordered at least one 2900 mAH battery. (For example, if you ordered one 2900 mAH battery, you will instead be receiving two 2250 mAH; if you ordered three 2900 mAH batteries, you will instead be receiving four 2250 mAH, etc.)

Secondly, we will initially be shipping momentary switches in place of latching switches for all Cera preorders; the latching switches are delayed, and will be shipped once they arrive. When you receive the latching switch, you will not need to return the momentary switch. The illuminated switch will no longer be offered and everyone who ordered one will receive a refund. Refunds for this will be processed beginning next week, and an email of the return transaction will be sent for your records.

A number of you have modified your orders since they were placed, and we encourage you to confirm your final orders with us before they are shipped. For those of you who have not amended your original order, we also recommend you confirm your shipping address and any possible changes before orders are shipped. Cera pre-orders are expected to ship as early as tomorrow, so please check in with us regarding your shipments as soon as you can!

All orders will be shipped in the order in which they were placed. (Orders with titanium parts are not yet ready to ship but will be available shortly.) Pre-orders placed before December 25th will be upgraded to USPS Express Shipping free of charge and tracking will be sent to the email addresses provided when your order was placed. If you have not received any email updates from us since your order was placed, please add noreply@thermovape.com

I think you guy's may be right...it was confirmation e-mails and not actual shipping e-mails I saw, but if I remember correctly, it was said that after the confirmation e-mails went out the Cera's would be shipping shortly after.

Personally I don't think TET has actually sent any Ceras, or we would have heard about it on here, but their FB page says they started shipping on Saturday.

If they started shipping over the weekend, then with the free upgraded shipping I'd expect the first units to be delivered tomorrow. So I guess we'll know for sure then. But I doubt they would lie and say units have shipped if they haven't. They've missed a fair number of estimated ship dates, but they haven't done anything that would lead me to believe that they'd flat out lie to us, even if it would calm the herd.

Last info I heard (from TET) was that I was about 20th on the list. (ordered Nov. 16th) The first group was supposed to leave late last week and I was supposed to receive my order later this week. (probably)

Not because I don't still want it. Out of principle and lack of trust with the manufacturer.

Seriously, how does TV justify popping in here, making a comment, then removing the comment, and then doesn't even give the slightest update!

Fortunately TET can resolve my negative feelings by simply following through on their commitment to get these ceras shipped this week.

Lets go TET! Get it done!

The comment was mostly directed towards one specific customer, and I think part of the reason they posted was to show they were working yesterday, as someone early in the day had suggested they weren't.

Argh I was really hoping to wake up to find some tracking details in my inbox today :-( guess I'll just have to suppress my excitement again. I'm just getting so anxious. I'm gonna have to postpone my vape party on the weekend for sure now and won't be able to squeeze it in for about 3 Weeks now.

At least I'll get some time on my own to get to know Cera before I have to start sharing, it's just one of the guys coming was gonna bring some bubble and I'll have to wait for that now too.

We need a new cera thread! The updates from OF and the TET guys were the only thing that kept me hanging on all these (2) months otherwise I would have broken down and gotten a pax long ago

Agreed on the cancellation AirDru... Very sad.

I ordered 11/29 - no ship notices other than confirmation email (assume I'm in the first 30ish). I'll probably be cancelling Friday, and calling the credit card company Monday if I don't hear anything. Quite honestly - I almost have to cancel to save my own ass (disputing charges w/in 60 days) in case these guys are just going to continue stringing us along for another 2 months.

When I ordered early December, we were persuaded to have it before Christmas, or at least the New Year ... a month has passed since then and is still at the same point. I canceled my order about two weeks ago (and still no refund ... in fact TET bank refused to pay the last moment, not a good sign ), and the more time passes the less I am excited .. .
It all started with a piece of roof falls (and I still don't understand how it could be compared with a delay of the Cera assembly, because at the time TET told us they had all the parts) .... then the creator of the Cera (it was him the brain of TET, right ?) leaves TET (and I'd like to know why, because it is very problable information that might interest all customers !). It is quite rare that a father abandons his baby ! Folks can says that it's not our business, but I think it would be useful for us to know why ! )
So before ordering a Cera again (it is still likely to always please me), I'll wait until users have tested it well and do their reports..... and be refund before too !!!

Then I'll be a bit naughty and cynical, but instead of spending so much time to make videos to make us dream, they would have done better to go to build Ceras !

Well actually - I did. When I got the confirmation email, I replied confirming my order and address and asking about timing - yet heard nothing back. No reason to further waste my time - look at Bluntcrush's post above. He's before me - and despite asking has heard nothing definitive. If he's going to get it this week - he'd have to hear something by tomorrow.

Again - sad that I'm forced to play CYA. It's as much about protecting my 300 bucks with via the credit card dispute mechanism as anything.

You were never told you would have anything before Christmas, you were told that was the projected date for the first round of shipments. You agreed to the terms that dates could change without notice when you placed your order. Remember the asterisk right next to the preorder button?

This is not a new thing to happen with preorders, it happens with almost every company, in every field, that does preorders.

There have been many setbacks other than the roof falling in, all of them have been out of TET's control. They have been very honest with every one of you.
They told you they had all the parts they needed to build the Cera's once the outsourced parts started coming in, such as the bodies and switches for instance.

The company that makes the ceramic bodies for the Cera had some issues with getting them correct on large scale so TET rejected them. TET wasn't willing to sacrifice quality for any one of them.

Then came the issue with the company that makes the bottom switch, and them not being able to get them done in time. TET then had to find a temporary replacement(the momentary switch) just so they could still get Cera's out to everyone as fast as possible without sacrifice again.

The whole Noah leaving TET issue is his business and only his business. Apparently Noah has a lot of family things going on and felt his time is better spent with family. He had already given TET everything they needed to finish without him.
He has given many years to all the projects they have had since the beginning of ThermoVape, and he did it all without a single dime of compensation! He and others there have said already that Noah was not a paid employee, he did it to try to better all of your lives not his own.

All of this was already explained in the Cera thread before it got shut down because of people whining, all because they can't handle the terms that they agreed to when the purchases were made. TET is non-stop busy building, they don't have time to worry about 1 or 2 people right now.

You guys all want to cancel just days before they actually start going out, that's just fine! It means the people that have been patient will get them all the sooner! Have a nice day!

Ps This is not directed towards one person,LeTchen, it is directed towards everyone who complains about absolutely nothing.

Eh. We were told several times to expect it by this date or that. Clearly nothing firm - but lots of continually missed ship-date promises.

People have been making the same arguments on both sides since around Christmas - and it looks like the people that cancelled were the ones that made the right call - despite the torrent of excuses/reasons. We can always re-order. As someone else said - what's another month at this point.

Again - it's a CYA game at this point. I'm just as worried about it dragging on another 2 months as I am that they've decided to take my money and shut down due to "insurance claims not covering repairs" or some such nonsense.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing about it being multi-user. I saw the original post, it wasn't anything of interest to anyone besides leT, not Noah or anything sketchy. The reason I was thinking its a Multi-user account is because Noah always signed off (cheers, Noah) and that wasn't there for a bunch of other thermovape posts around the same time. So I think it may have been multiple users before he left, but I'm just guessing I guess... ya know...jibberish.

I ain't cancelling my pre-order, I'll tell you that much. Need cera, make vapor good, make fake happy...

I agree with people's frustration in this thread. I cancelled my order last week and at the same time I ordered a Pax Ploom. I received the pax in under 2 days and am VERY VERY Happy that I decided to get it instead of the CERA. Someone else mentioned it felt like we were funding a kickstarter project and that is exactly how I felt as well. "Pre-Order Now For pre Holiday Delivery" <---HAHAH YEAH RIGHT. I agree, read the fine print and policies but they were definitely misleading people by promising dates that they couldn't keep. I'm glad I cancelled my order.
