Carta by Focus V

After waiting months for the official app release I figured what the hell and opened up my brand new replacement Carta I've had sitting here for weeks on end to try again with the stock settings.

Two hits off this one before the power button got completely stuck in the unit and it's now bricked. Not sure how it passed QC, I noticed the sticky button as soon as I turned it on. I was planning to sell this Carta to someone who could get the app working, but I'm glad I opened it as I can already imagine the PayPal dispute drama that would have happened if I sold this. I guess I'm just out $250 bucks on this one no matter what.

I will never order another product ever again from VapeActive.com with their lame ass service.

I definitely wish Puffitup would have had stock when I ordered, at least they'd work with me and maybe let me pay the difference for a Peak.

Ok inkust got on board with this and then i read the thread?? Did i make a mistake? I see atomizer issues? Are they better now? Are there new types.coming out still? And is the app working good now also? I just wanna get some dabs on the go..the last one i had was a dabber booat..lol..

Why are you out $250? You'll get a warranty replacement in all prob. & sell that one if you wish.

And what if that warranty replacement is defective just as this warranty replacement was because the quality control doesn't match the QC sticker on the box?

PayPal hates vaporizers so it wouldn't take much for a sale to turn sour. I have to hope the end user deals with Focus V instead of taking it up with me. Key word being hope.

@subway13029 something to keep in mind when reading the forms about most product. unless the overwhelming majority is negative. i would take the few outliers that have constant issues as the outspoken minority. I can tell you that we have over 5000 units on the market and the vast majority have had great success.

for those who do not there is and always will be the warranty option.

For those of you who are in the beta program and where asking about the character limit. it is 11.

Today is the last day to get those in to me. I will be submitting them to the factory line today to get them going.

I can't think in recent times of a company that tries harder than @FocusV to fix any problems with their products that customers might be having. :nod:

They seem determined to try and give every customer the best experience possible. They listen to customers voicing both positive and negative comments and then move forward with fixes and enhancements as quickly as they are able to.

After being burned by numerous company's that didn't live up to expectations, or downright ripped off me and many other people, @FocusV and NewVape are breaths of fresh air, and I am an extremely happy customer of both of these company's. I wish them both a very long life and much success in this industry.:tup:

Agree 100%. I went to the NewVape factory once just to pick up an online order, and wound up spending a couple hours there chatting with Edwyn, getting a factory tour, and learning all about the company. Just one of the best customer experiences I've ever gotten, and earned my business forever. Exact same when I met the FocusV team over a warranty issue. They customer serviced the shit out of me and really convinced me that they care about 2 things only: their products and their customers.

Btw the FocusV site is looking nice these days :tup:

We will have the separate heating plates available soon! just waiting on the final packaging to be done.

Thanks for posting the link! We totally support Helix and there endeavors! we are currently working on a glass/accessory market place for all the glass artist and people like Dab Wraps to be able to sale there items directly to you, verified and handled via our company directly. this way everyone can feel safe knowing we will be there to back the accessory / glass top incase of any issues!

One more question @FocusV i bought my unit from creamcityvapes..if i have issues with an atomizer or anything so i habe to go theough them for that or does warranty juat kick in through yall? And are things like the subscription service still a thing? I read about in thread

I second this. I bought my Focus V purely on a whim after reading up about it here. I don't dab and the Carta is my first concentrate dedicated device. I was such a noob that I honestly had no idea how a device like this would work (an atomizer, a bucket...wtf?) but thankfully you can teach an old dog new tricks. That said, I was feeling nervous about using the Carta so I messaged Randall directly and asked if he could walk me through it. He offered to get on a vid chat to help me out. I was blown away by that. In effort to save him time and myself the embarrassment, I went ahead and figured it out on my own. It's that easy to use although I do think some improvements to the user manual could be made for newer folks like me (very minor gripe here). But still, Randall's offer was there.

I also did see that there were folks who were having issues with their bases/atomizers before I purchased but I also saw the responses from the company and the feedback from those who went through a RMA. That's what actually sold me.

My first base was a sticky button RMA. I was so bummed to find that out but I filed out the form on a Thursday...new Carta on a Tuesday. Do electronic vapes sometimes have issues? Of course but does every company respond to those issues in a relatively quick fashion and also live up to their promises made under warranty agreement? Unfortunately, that answer is no. There are vapes that I like but can't recommend due to trash CS. In the end, I am a happy customer that has zero issues with recommending this vape.

I bought mine from Cream City and filled out the form on Focus V's website when I had an issue. To Cream City's credit, I did contact them and they did offer to reach out to Carta if I had an issue but they reassured me that a problem with honoring the warranty was not going to be an issue. Honestly, I wouldn't want the retailer to handle my issue if the company is doing such a good job at it.

FocusV did a live giveaway. i was the first to guess the correct answer, they said congrats to someone else even though multiple people were agreeing that I was first which got their attention. they told me to take a screen shot which i did but theyre still giving it to someone else. Which is shady because that dude is a fake profile with 0 posts and 19 followers.

Wish I screen recoreded it with everyone else agreeing i won because the screen shot i guess isnt enough proof

That’s unfortunate. I’ve bought a Carta and some other items from them. I have nothing but good things to say from my experiences. I’m guessing there was some lag and they are going by what their screen showed.

The Instagram profile could be fake but, I wouldn’t jump to conclusions. I might only have 10 followers on my Instagram account. I only use it to keep up on new local product dropping from concentrate producers I like and to watch Carta live-streams. I don’t have any other use for Instagram. I don’t even have a profile pic loaded on it.

I don't see what's shady about what happened. It was clearly an honest discrepancy. They saw one thing on their screen and you saw another thing on yours, but they can only go by what's on their screen. It's silly to think they should give an extra unit away. What's overlooked is that they are giving away so many units in the first place. It sucks that happened to you, but also kinda smells like sour grapes.

I am guilty of making an IG account to enter a giveaway a few months back but I tune into the @FocusV Streams because they're always really informative and while I can't fault people who are only around for the giveaways, it is a bummer to see that so many people tune out the second that they announce they'll be doing it later on the night Live Stream or another time.

This is just me spouting off cause I know you were there for the unannounced one (if this is the same situation I'm thinking of) but wouldn't be surprised if something didn't come your way based on their history of generosity & willingness to go that extra mile and and an inch. They also give away more product (not a cheap one either) than any other company of recent that I've seen and it's in a particularly unique sector of the Vaping industry that they could really just say that funds needs to go back into R&D or for testing for the many things they have in the works instead of giveaways and product replacement like them mentioning that if you got some really bad Quartz buckets to let them know so they can get you new ones.

Aren't the live streams viewable for up to 24 hours after so fans/active members that miss them live can still watch them for the informative value or in this case for evidence?

I completely forgot that reviewing the livestream was an option until after the 24 hours was up. Besides I already had a screen shot showing I was first and a bunch of random people on their live backing me up.

They saw the other people commenting i should have won and said they couldnt check it anymore so dm them a screen shot which I Did and i thought that would be good enough but it clearly was not.

It was a giveaway so im really complaining about nothing. its just really disheartening the way it went down and was handled.

I don't want to spend to much time on the topic but to address the giveaway we can only go based on what is on our screen. everyone is going to have different lag times etc.. Case in point, after you mentioned you had a screen shot showing you where first. we then had 3 more people send in screen shots showing they were first. (again just going back to the base that each of you guys on your device was likely first in there own regard but not on our stream when it feeds into us, we can only go based on that. )

Mine is out for delivery..im so ready for it. I need this in my life. I just need some accesories now..is there a better carb cap? Or is stock the best? I need one of those leashes. But anything besides rebuild kits and atomizers?

Awesome! You are in for a treat. I cold load the quartz bucket using the third heat setting. In my opinion the stock carb cap is the best, I've tried the stock peak one and another peak bubble cap but nothing milks like the original. I use a peak tether (blasphemy I know) and it works great. For my use case I ordered some extra batteries and quartz buckets. I like to preload the buckets and just switch them out when I'm on the go. The hot Florida summers are hell on trates, so this is the most convenient method if found. Good luck!

I'd try level 1 or 2 first, mine works really well on these and 3 is WAY too high. Also if you run the same lvl back to back it's about 50 degrees hotter each time, so there's that to consider as well.

It depends. I'm down to my last 2 quartz cups. One of them works pretty well at level 2 in most of my atties. The other one gets poor, wispy hits on every single atty at level 2, and requires level 3 temps to milk up. So it seems to be bucket-specific. I think the one that doesn't work well is an older one.
