Not vouching for it, but this is the detailed report.

Just glanced at it, but it sure looks like THC-A outperformed CBG-A and CBD-A. It prevents entry of the virus for a longer time than both, and "covers" more of the cell than CBD.

Also, like Leafly said, this is a petri dish study. Who knows if it would work this way in an animal body, let alone specifically humans. Like, if this works by the cannabinoid "coating" cells exposed to the virus, what concentration of 'noids in the body would you need for it to provide protection? Guess there's only one way to find out...

This study specifically called out CBDA and CBGA in part because studying forms of THC is still prohibited by our dumbfuck government for some reason.
I've seen reports from biochemists about that and they are amazed, so many are not even aware of ECS research for some reason ( federal restrictions ?) .. quote from one of them - " The fact that both CBGA and CBDA are allosteric and orthosteric ligands for the spike protein is absolutely amazing "

Can't find any definitive proof that cannabis & THC has "health benefits" because the idiots haven't allowed ANY research into cannabis or THC for the last 50 years!!

No research, no proof.
have you researched endocannabinoid system ??? the one found in cells via research of cannabis lipids

But none of my stoner friends even got it......

Like I said 3 years ago, pulmonary administration of antiviral/antimicrobial/antioxidant terpenoids directly injected into the hard to reach areas of concern would be promising for treating PIC (pneumonia/influenza/covid)

But instead we have "scientists" playing with CBD on the computer (en silico) or in a petri dish......

Sigh.

That is a great article, bravo Leafly and thanks for post it @florduh

I was pretty pissed with Colbert's bit about the study. I swear sometimes he needs a slap up side the head.

No worries though some civilized country will do the needed studies.
I love him and his show dearly but whenever he does weed humor he comes off like every geek who never got high and tells the same jokes about stoners….yeah, munchies, we get it, Stephen….

I think what Colbert has become is kind of sad. I watched every episode of "The Colbert Report". Many more than once. As someone who grew up with Fox News obsessed parents, it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Stephen played that character to perfection.

I tried his new show, where he's not playing a character. The real Colbert seems like a very nice man. But the comedy never hit the same. And the reason all of his stoner jokes are lame is the real Colbert is a super religious Catholic nerd.

Oh well. I'm sure it was hard being famous for playing a goofy character who shares his same exact name for so many years. At least I have the memories.

IMO it's not just the cannibis industry that is somewhat corrupted.

Getting old now. Was raised as a brainwashed southern conservative, now seeing problems with our capitalistic democracy.

Seems like it's all about the money, and almost no one is looking out for the common good. It's as if the money motive is controlling everything, even to the point of eliminating regulations and health standards.

I wonder how much longer we can go on borrowing while being plucked by the military industrial complex, big pharma, Wall Street brokerage firms, the insurance industry, auto & fossil fuel industries, corporate agriculture, tobacco/alcohol, etc.

There are supposedly 15,000+ lobbyist in DC "contributing" to federal officials. The weed industry has been state by state, so the feds are coming in late. Hopefully they will settle for a reasonable excise tax (???) and not make the overall regulatory situation even worse.

The Third World War was devised to be totally different from all previous historical conflicts, an attack focused on the weak instead of the strong; to make use of “silent weapons, for quiet wars.”

Most will never even realize they are currently being attacked, right now. It was of course designed that way.

Most will never be able to psychologically accept the fact that “the truth is stranger than fiction.”

One of my favorite propaganda moves is when the US media says anything about "corrupt third world countries". How fucking funny. The US is so corrupt we have an entire industry centered around legalized corruption. Like, you can graduate college and have a legitimate career in the corruption industry.

Quoted for truth!

And the corruption industry funds the colleges and dictates what to indoctrinate students with so it’s just a revolving door of lunacy.

Like having literal domestic terrorists who actually bombed the Capital decades ago, like Obama’s friend Bill Ayers of the former Weather Underground, employed as prestigious University professors; or other positions of power.

My favorite is when they harp about the “cartel” yet American citizens can’t even make a phone call without an Alphabet Agency listening in. At least the Sinaloa cartel doesn’t have every phone line in Mexico tapped

Me and my lady friend were catching up on Ozark over the weekend. One thing that struck me is that drug cartels are companies like any other. The violence they commit is just a means to protect their profit margin.

Corporations will put out dangerous products or break safety laws all the time, knowing it will lead to "X" number of people dying. But paying settlements and fines is more profitable than fixing their dangerous product or following safety laws. So they'll trade blood for profit. Just like the cartels.

But cartels don't buy advertising from CNN, so they don't get the same cover from the media that corporations do.
