Hi boys and girls.it's been ages since I needed to visit the forum because the showerhead is thAt good.I have a question in regards to my coil,will it just stop working or will it degrade in performance gradually?I ask because my bowl of weed doesn't seem to vape as evenly as it used to even after i gave everything a good clean.
Hey bro welcome back. If your coil is defective I would perhaps expect to see some blatant performance differences with the set and coil temp, time to reach temp and stabilize, temp drops during hit etc. I mean once the SH is heat soaked and up to temp steadily, I dont see how the coil itself could be the issue.
Im only assuming this but if everything else in this sense seems just as usual, that doesnt point to the coil being faulty but I dont know anything about coils really. Have a good think though and see if there could be any other factors. The guys here will have some better ideas no doubt.
Maybe your herb is all much drier atm- mine is from the heat. This could slightly alter the way you are extracting from the bowl so that it may be slightly more uneven due to the reduced moisture content in the herb? Just a thought.

Just got my Vrod. Any temp suggestions for just weed,Twax and for dabs with the quartz dish? Or all around the same temp?

When you reassembled everything, it may not have come together as tightly (or just the same as it was)
I always make sure the head is hand-tight after cleaning, and I usually recalibrate my PID after taking off the head. Also check and make sure that tightness was retained after heating. Sometimes it gets loose, and if I jiggle the handle, you can hear the coil nut shaking. I just grab a (DRY) dish towel and tighten it til snug
I've had my OG coil for 11 months now, went from Wraparound to Showerhead to Vrod and its all good still.

I'd recommend 700 to start out at with the vrod. I settled around 715 but I only ran a few loads thru it.
I had absolutely 0 luck in being able to take a dab off the stock quartz dish, even at 777f.
I prefer to do everything at 1 temp so I spend less time clicking buttons and more time enjoying being baked

Actually the only advice I was given in this thread was to just buy the SiC dish lol. The convective air at 777f was enough to launch me into a bad coughing fit and my dab barely vaporized. I was able to see vapor build in the can after dropping the carb cap on butit wasn't enough for a milk/solid hit

If you torch them clean they may not last nearly as long. ISO soak may be better. Some people like to leave the screen in the bowl and soak it all together because they have found that frequently removing and replacing the screen can cause a bit of wear and tear.
I had to wonder Baron. My own herb is drying out so fast now with our hot UK summer (Autos are loving it!
) and is vaping differently with much better extraction. So it seems logical that the change in the extraction process could simply be highlighting whichever aspect of the setup as a whole is responsible. Or something like that possibly.

Agreed, most times instead of cleaning with a solvent I use the S&B Mighty cleaning brush and just push into the bowl and twist and grind a bit. It does a remarkable job cleaning the thing, if you start by looking through the bowl and can't see through the screen, this method will open it up, except for the edges near the bowl sides.
This keeps me from having to clean it that often, and i don't waste reclaim by dipping the whole bowl.

Speaking of coils what lifespan on average are you daily users that have yours on most of the day seeing? I just got my first controller/coil set from Nv for Sh use.
I've only had my dhgate enail & coil since october, but I'm hoping it lasts a good while longer
I have it on a smart plug for the scheduled timer
during the week it's usually on in the evenings from about 4:45pm till 11pm
Over the weekend, if I'm in the house, it's on until I go to bed, so around 16 hours or so per day.
