I do notice that ramp, and once it ramps up it hits pretty hard and fast! I have a very low tolerance, so if I’ve got a decent sized load and I don’t lift the showerhead soon after the vapor gets dense it can really take me out.
If the load is small and the temp is high though (666 and maybe even lower) it ramps up and then when the extraction is pretty complete it suddenly clears without lifting the showerhead. I know you know that, but other new users may not.
If I’m at a lower temp (usually 555 right now) I generally keep a steady slow-medium speed, or maybe start out very slow, and at high temps I start slow-medium and ramp up to fast with the vapor production. Of course capping for the first few seconds also gets it going faster, but I’ve only tried that around 600 and below. I remember people saying they’d combusted with the cap at high temps.
Considering that I often get more than I can comfortably take in a full draw though, maybe I’d be better off with a medium or medium-fast speed most of the time.
The “vapor bloom” is real though, and it hits hard!
Oh, and I think that at least at lower temps speed and maybe other factors are important here, because I’ve been watching a new user with it lately and I rarely if ever see her get to that density. Maybe just because her draw is shorter and it doesn’t start as slow?
i have used plenty different vapes...noob to the enail and glass world style of vaping and dabbing. normally a butane vape guy..elev8r, vapman, hammer etc etc
There’s a lot you can try to get exactly the results you want, but getting started is pretty simple, and as long as you respect the “HOT” stand and the showerhead, basic usage is pretty easy even for someone who has never used any kind of vaporizer before.
You’ll be fine!
In my experience the most simple perc I have (4 columns of 3 large-ish round holes, 1 column on each side of the downstem) with a fairly small amount of water gives the most flavor for me. Of course still less than using it dry though.
The huge things with several percs and and a lot of water - the kind of setup that looks like a Rube Goldberg Device - are the most fun to watch, but they’re probably not going to let much of the flavor through.
This is a good example that looks and feels nice but robs a lot more flavor, especially from micro-doses.
I still use it pretty often and I like it in most ways, but I tried a new strain through it last night and then finished a bowl that had been half used and sitting in my lowest diffusion piece for more than a day and I still got a lot more flavor from the small and simple perc.
I’m not trying to dissuade anyone from buying the stereo matrix, I think it’s great in most ways, but if you like the flavor of what you’re vaporizing I’d recommend having at least one simpler option, especially if you do a lot of micro-dosing.
