Hey Everyone,

New owner of the Flowerpot here. I received my order over the weekend, and have been using it as often as I can. It's absolutely beautiful and efficient. I am using flower exclusively on the SH, and the high is very clean and clear. My only complaint is that I bought this device for maximum terpene extraction, but so far I am getting muted and dull flavor. Prior to purchasing the FP Starter Kit, I have mainly been using a Da Buddha Vape and a Firefly 2 portable. For the moment, both seem to be giving me better flavor.
I've tried no water vs water; different load sizes; different temps; and different draw speeds. I'm not getting the lip-smacking, lingering flavor that I desire. There must be something I need to tweak, and I was hoping for some suggestions:

Hardware: 11'' glass bubbler, Ti SH/bowl (Should I switch out for glass?)
Temp: 650F range (Have tested between 585F - 680F)
Load Size: Using the NewVape loader, which I believe is .05 grams? (I usually load up .05-.10 g)
Draw Speed: Slow to Medium Uncapped (I am not milking because I like to micro dose)

Try a faster draw. I find a fast draw works best for flavor hits.

I don't think there is much you can change if you aren't happy with the flavor and have already gone as low as 585 other then maybe a coarser grind or a larger load. I don't think .05g is really enough terpenes to begin with for a true lip smacking hit IMO.

@adambigsky I suspect if you give it time you will find what you are looking for, not much different than discovering your favorite run at Big Sky. I own the FF2 and it does deliver unrivaled flavor, but is a pain in the ass to use as it requires stirring and herb gets everywhere. The FF2 does not extract goodness in anywhere close to the same league as the FlowerPot. :rockon: Respect! -YaMon

@NewVape420 any discussions with Edwyn on a smaller bowl or insert for the FP to match up with the air channel on the WA head? I don't mind stirring but with all these different bowls for aesthetics, it would be nice to have a more functional bowl for us micro bowlers.

Would it be feasible for you to make a Ti "Insert" for the bowl? You could make it the same thickness as the current lip, and it would be incredible for micro dosing IMO and just rapid blast execution type hits with the heat barreling straight down the bore. Kinda of like a Ti washer I suppose. Should be fairly easy to manufacture i'd guess, and reasonable cost.

I dunno, just thinking out loud and throwing it out there! :)

EDIT: This Ti washer insert would also change the heating dynamics and add more element of conduction potentially. Super simple, removable, and adds even more versatility to an already extremely versatile vape.

Any Australian flowerpot owners here ? Did you go with the Newvape EU/UK enail controlller ? From my very limited understanding the controller should be 240v 50hz and all I need to do is swap out the power cable ?

Hey YaMon. Thanks for the reply. I agree with you that the FF2 offers amazing flavor, and that's about it. I've bricked out 3 devices in 3 months. No kidding. All 3 did the same exact thing. I had 5 months left on a 2 year warranty, so I decided to sell my replacement and buy the FP. I'm very happy with my decision.

One thing to try is bumping the temps up to the 725+ range while keeping a medium or faster draw speed uncapped with roughly .1 g loads. I found the flavor hit on high temps to be superior, but be warned that this does come with increased harshness (compared to lower temps). I don't do much if any pre-heating with those temps.

I got my glass unit setup so perfect now for the flowerpot........

Draws are so smooth now....much less blow back on the bowl by adding the drop down
and there is less splashing inside the chamber. The carb hole I drilled now has even better
function by allowing a very precise release of the vapor on the end of the draw. This part is
important to me. I usually follow up the vapor intake by going further just a second or two
and get clean air on the back end of the draw. So if I take too big of a draw, (accidently of course)
I can regulate the draw to smooth out that big ass burst into my throat and lungs.

The glass "taste pod" bowl with SS screen. I can 1 hit, or get about 0.13 in it for multiple draws.

So last night I was in a little more pain than usual.. still experimenting with the FlowerPot, I grabbed my NV scoop and two of my best herb stashes... carefully leveling a scoop (0.05g) of the dryer herbs, I spread them out covering the screen of my PanHead bowl... then I measured another level scoop from the second container, the contents were pungent, much more sticky and carefully layered over the first scoop, like frosting on a cake.. Still on 760 F the glass milked out quickly, with the ShowerHead back on it's stand I pulled the goodness deep into my lungs and held it for a bit... a slow exhale through my nose and the terps were so strong it felt as though i had just laughed ginger beer into my nose.. instant high, exceptional, love this thing! two more glass fulls and still no popcorn taste until draw number four.. a quick stir and another draw set me straight and prime for a great nights sleep.

I do't have many other vapes that allow me to layer different herbs on top of one another.. . certainly they could be mixed, but in this scenario I knew there was a good balance of vapor from both varieties.. and I received the best of both in the process. With other vapes I certainly could mix the same amount of each, but not with this access to the bowl, fast extraction and this quantity.. at least I cannot think of anything. Time to rock this thing some more! #FlowerPower! Respect! -YaMon

Gotta love on demand vaporization @YaMon !

I been hitting my WA setup with lucky 7's, may be able to go higher, I am not coming close to charring my herb doing approx .07gr loads. Still gotta give her a stir, it may just be my lungs or my rig but my ears are ringing as I post this :whoa:
