Rough tests are better than nothing. Having somewhat of an idea makes thing much nicer for me, no reason why.

Your labor is much appreciated. Hope it paid well :p

I'm just surprised at how 'accurate' my guess of 560f as a temp to stick at was, and how close it is to getting most of the temps on usual vape device temps, or thereabouts. My surprise is why I'm going to recheck a few times and make sure I'm not somehow seeing what I wanna see :D

Holding it there as long as I can, and inhaling as long as I can! I have quite a long inhale tbf, so its useful :) Its a bare wire in the air path, seeing how the numbers bounce around, and getting an idea of where it is. Trying to make sure the probe wire is only in the air path and not touching the metal of the bowl or screen, but its unlikely Im not hitting them at times.

Its all very inaccurate and FWIW, but I've been using the same k type probe to measure air temps in my house as Im in the process of getting rid of some crazy drafts, freezing air, and trying to get the ambient temp up to 'normal' with draft proofing and insulating. I've got thermometers all over the house that I'm cross referencing, and I can tell from flower results, in my lungs/abv etc roughly where I'm at. And shoving the probe under my tongue (I know thats not air temp but just cross referencing temps :D ).

That being said, its still all FWIW, and a pinch of salt. Not the healthiest of 'science' diet. I should check dish temp as well to see if it corollates to others readings at 560f. Edit coming up...

EDIT: Dish temp tops out about 500f.

Thanks for the info. I have taken temp measurements of my D-nail SIC Halo when I first got it and discovered that the TC in my coil wasn't very good. But it took some couple of minutes for the TC to stabilize at the final temp and its also a bare wire type (bare wire at the very end that is).

You must really have good lung capacity! LOL

Thanks again.

You must really have good lung capacity! LOL

Thanks again.

Honestly, not trying to blow smoke up NV's arse, but with each vape (hopefully each one a personal upgrade to me, the only reason I buy new vapes) my lungs improve, the less I irritate them, the stronger they get. Sadly, that also means the more irritable they get to the slightest annoyance, and consequently, more irritated by vapour :/

Maybe, I'm just having a good day today, but my lungs have never felt better since staying in the 500f range and only using the SH.

Thanks for the thanks!

It actually lowers the pressure I think.

The carb cap is exactly what it sounds like, a carburetor for your rig. It restricts the amount of airflow to your nail, allowing you to collect the last bits of your oil to punctuate the end of your hit. By capping the nail, you restrict the airflow into the rig through just the small contact area between the carb cap and the edge of the nail. While inhaling strongly, the reduced airflow places the entire rig under low pressure, including the oil that pooled on the nail without vaporizing.

Under low pressure, every component of the hash oil suddenly has a lower boiling temperature—what once boiled at high temperatures can now do so at much lower temperatures, giving you a bloom of thicker, better tasting smoke. The carb cap lets you actually finish the dab, instead of wasting it in a thick, sputtering puddle.

Thanks for the post, I learnt a few tips!!

Do any of you dual OG wrap-around and ShowerHead owners ever still use and appreciate the OG head for flowers? I'm debating purchasing a wrap around kit for a backup, but unsure i'd ever use it for flower and I don't need a SiC or quartz setup because the Ti tastes more than awesome enough for me and my minimal dab needs.

I'm kinda interested in the the (slighty?) more restricted airflow. And i'm planning on buying previous bowl designs anyway.

That new 2 piece bowl looks pretty cool! I'm planning on buying 14mm for now and use with an adapter like some of you because I can't take this joint sticking anymore lol My 18mm new style bowl is really bad for it if using the carb cap, or even just having the head on too long.

I can't believe I want a SECOND FP setup INSTEAD of another different vape that i've had my eyes on!?!?

NVAS represent!

The carb cap increase pressure(lowering the boiling point of the cannabinoids/terps) and lowers the airflow

Not trying to be a smart ass but the cap 'decreases' pressure in the bowl and results in boiling point depression.

Sort of like why you can't get hot coffee on the top of Mt Everest....the boiling point of water is too low for it to be able to get really hot.

P.S. - ooops, I see this was already talked about. I'm redundant yet once again! LOL

Cheers

Wakey! Wakey! Bakey! Bakey! Unfortunately I can't enjoy a nice quality fresh ground coffee (ruins my sleep) but a nice sativa AAA strain called UK Cheese is a good replacement! (STINKY CHEESE!!!)

Please note the temperature (590f!), and the milk and resulting clouds from 0.1g! This vaporizer continues to deliver and impress!!!! Convection bliss!

I was reminded of one of the limitations of the FP last night. I was hoping to impress my buddy @Terpstar and am pretty sure I DIDN'T.

Some rigs work nice with the FP, most don't in my experience. Even tubes are not that great. It wasn't until I used the fab egg that I saw the true beauty of my FP.

The smaller rigs will milk up and look decent on video but you get a smaller hit because of the can.

Tubes are angled wrong and it seems to take too long to build up vapor.

The fab egg seems to create some sort of vaccum that helps with vapor production. I'm pissed I didn't bring it with me for last nights sesh.

You get the best hit when it's one big hit. Taking a slow long hit from a small can is not a big hit at once IMO.

I'm not trying to dampen the mood but I can't recommend this vape to anyone unless I try the FP with the rigs they already own.

It's just too hit or miss.

EDIT: It hurt to post this, but these are the facts IMO.

I bought a Vapecode enail from dhgate and it got here today. I plugged it in for the first time and there was a spark and smoke started coming out from the back of the unit near where the switch is. My guess is that the coil caused a short circuit. The coil in question came with the enail. The seller is Sweetcigs_factory, here's a link to the enail. I messaged the seller but there has been no response yet. Anyone deal with this kind of situation before? Is it likely that the seller will cover the return shipping costs and exchange this defective unit?

@emmdeemo had problems with his dhgate controller/coil... as far as I remeber they end him a new one...
but I am alos not up to date I was busy the last days and could kot read this thread... sorry if you answered already but did dhgate solve your problem @emmdeemo ...

also @Omphilreal please keep us up to date how dhgate solves/solved your problem...

I only once checked my dhgate controller and nail, if it works... I am still waiting ( for my fp it is in the customs msince 26th september) to receive my fp it is still in customs.... fu**

This is a relic from the past. Pictured here is a coarse. The teeth were just not perfected yet.
Trust me it looks better than it performed. We learned that fine grinding will never be finer than the passages thru to the multi stage. Hence the current 2 - piece.

Is UK cheese that sativa dominant then? I always believed it was about 60% sativa. Maybe misinfo, but probably a number of varieties.
At least the UK has made a useful contribution to the cannabis world though!

Amazing vids Biohacker. Please keep em coming whenever you feel like it. I have missed them actually with all your moving and lifestyle modifications this year. I am definitely getting that bubbler, and the new bowl design Newvape is proposing...maybe it will work perfectly with zero downside to eliminate the sticking.

If so, I may never have to tussle with joint sticking myself, but too early to predict yet. Would be nice to save a few pounds on a claissen as well.

enjoy your breakfest :-) i love UK Cheese, although many people around here say it s just a good commercial strain

UK Cheese a Sativa? No way if you don't have the OG cut which is mostly (~60%) sativa. Most Cheese as seeds are hybrids, mostly indica.

Anyone perfected DIY rosin cartridges with terpenes instead of glycol? I'll be away from my FP for the weekend.

I have been using raw distillate with 3 drops of terpenes per gram and it is WAY strong in the flavor department. I would think rosin might even be able to get away with 1 or 2 drops. I use a 510 tank with a ceramic element. No weird dilutions just cannabis products.

Sound advice ^^ that's exactly what THC Scientific (UpTech/Blue River) told me the other day

Not sure but 2 drops per gram is a good starting points.

0.25ml should get you about 4-6 refills

My only concern with the rosin in the tanks is the decarboxylation process occurs at the heating element so the oil is going to bubble up inside the tank. I dont know what the side effects are but when terpenes are introduced into the oil it creates a LOT of offgassing and pressure created. You want to be careful not to overfill the tank, I would go under the limit to start with.

My tank is the liberty v9 amigo or wahtever it's called, I found them on ebay.

Yes i use a company called holy terp - http://holyterp.com/ , i usually mix a gram with just a few drops so it is nice and thick , my method is to fill a frying pan with shallow water and wait until i start seeing bubbles , than i take one of those glass concentrate jars and place in the water kind of like a double boil and mix until dissolved , suck up with a syringe and insert into my cartridge. The key is to do this while the concentrate is still warm , i like to make it thick and potent so only 1-2 hits are needed for on the go to feel the effects. The carts i use can take very thick liquid rather than the cheap china carts that cannot. For carts i use max vapors - https://maxvapornail.com/products/glass-cartridge-with-ceramic-core-and-preheater-coil , they have a preheater built in to warm your oil if you like to make it thick and potent . I have also heard these carts work well but have not had the chance to try them yet - https://www.vape710.ca/?product=5-distillate-cartridges-with-ceramic-atomizers , another tip , if you make your liquid thick and the cart is glass , you can take a lighter to it for a few seconds to get the liquid moving better.
