So...

If the reduction in airflow that the showercap provides means the temp of the air hitting the flower is more in line with the temp of the head, I potentially could still be getting vapour in the mid 400f range. I'm now at 510 and still getting clouds.

Fuck it, I'm going straight to 480f :) I expect to be back with an edit saying 480 was way, way too low :)

That’s pretty low , try some dabs that low also I wonder how that would work . Cool you can take this vape to such a low temp and still be getting vapor , a full bowl may last awhile. I still like a bit of a higher temp for the effects it provides .

wolf like ears with a big happy smile in between. Everyone of these ideas will be implemented as soon as possible. Ti screens with certs are in the works. I hope to begin the rev3 body within several weeks and have them available before Christmas. I'd like to take some time and collaborate as much as possible with the cult on the rev3 flowerpot body. Ti has also been ordered for new carb caps. I'm committed to do everything within my ability to make this the best desktop vaporizer on the market.
Yes I was meaning to add also that I see clearly how you find motivation to do all of this out of love and passion for what you do, that is clear. It is like it really is NO effort to you, mountains will just continue to roll like fresh turf!
Which makes it all the more pleasurable for customers to be on the receiving end. Not only are the products you are designing so special and cutting edge, but the energy you put into it makes it all so much more. Extremely well done sir and thoroughly deserved success. I am an admirer for sure!

@Alexis as always I look forward to reading through your eloquent dictations. They always evoke many welcomed synaptic tingles in the vast grey matter that is housed in my brain bucket.

I can feel the brush strokes of your perfectly thought-provoking words gently massaging images of glee and wonderment into my psyche. You're one in a bazillion and HIGHLY appreciated and revered in my little world.

I'm right with you on this journey and you've been in my thoughts as I've also battled with a few health hardships in my past. May many blessing be bestowed upon you and your lovely soul.
My dear friend, I can't thank you enough for your heart touching and inspirational words. Believe it or not, I am in fact a very sensitive soul. Despite being incredibly strong and individually minded, I still battle with low self esteem and am forever questioning myself, although I have to reason that this is an advantagous quality for character building and developement, rather than being more "fixed" but more emotionally robust and on "auto-pilot" consciousness wise.

So it is always very nice to be appreciated, especially by somebody who I feel exactly the same about. I have thouroughly enjoyed your re-emergence here recently. At first I thought, "who's this fellow who is making all the right noises and seeming right at home?"

It didn't take long to realise that you are the real deal, if I was more of a vape "officianado" I would emulate to be more like you as a member. Contribution wise to the forum I mean, but with such style, depth and personality, plus compassion, respect and... (damn, I had the perfect word next, but a sizey edible dose is sneaking ahead of me and removing words that were formed in subconscious advance - no joke! ).. well, just a really decent and refreshing attitude towards others I feel at all times.

I quickly began to love your infectious positivity and missed it each time you have been away.
I am losing my words now as this edible dose hits me- I finally started my vapor break yesterday, was meant to be on friday for 30 days for a homeopathy course to treat multiple infections, during which time it is impossible for me to vape.

But I vaped the first 3 days of the medicine, really not in a good place mentally or physically and pushing like mad now to hammer down infections ONCE AND FOR ALL with the electrifier as well, whatever it takes- and it takes some suffering believe, in the name of progress albeit!:uhh:

My head is so not together, but the prognosis is indeed very good, IF I can just keep my head together and keep taking the die off and not do anything stupid.

While I continue to dream about finding the vaporizer of my dreams that I am able to enjoy to the max. (I gotta have SOMETHING to focus on right?;))

Day six of homeopathy tommorrow. It will ease up by day 10, always intense at the start, and I have never hit the respiratory infections nearly this hard with electricity, possibly the greatest and safest weapon we will ever have against pathogens when employed correctly.

So @ichibaneye thank you for all your wonderful positivity and warm vibes in this forum, and you do it without detracting one bit from the content, always so insightful, relevant and bang on for all. This is what I mean when I say I would emulate that to be a better menber, but I can only be me and leave you to be you and do what you so well!

Not as many more as I was expecting tbh. I was kinda expecting it to be an endless chore trying to finish a bowl off but its quite the contrary, and when I up the temp after a bowl seems finished, its not really producing anything more than a whisp of spent flavour. If those temp and vape charts are anything approaching real, 430 or so is the cut off boiling point. I wonder how close a capped showerhead bowls airflow temp is to real temps that the coil is reporting? Wish I could get this temp probe I've got into the bowl without compromising the air seal :) EDIT: I JUST FIGURED OUT HOW TO DO THIS!

480 is only the tiniest tad too low, but I'm STILL getting clouds, the taste has gone through the roof, and my lungs have finally hit a point of not getting irritated.

I guess I have a new morning temp (mornings are the most likely time for my lungs to be screwed).

I'll try a dab at this temp but I'm definitely back to expecting the temps to be way too low for that. Fucking thing keeps proving me wrong tho so who knows?! :D

Nice , it may be pretty hard to find a actual temp of the air passing over the flower since this is convection . Easy to know the temp of the coil and nail but the air traveling through, around , over the flower’s is a different story . Good to see it extracting fully at such a low temp , I wonder if you through that in a different vape , if you could get any more out of it. Most likely not. What a beast the fp is .

Yeah, Im stunned. The end ABV is only a bit lighter than my usual ABV at 630f! 480 def seems too low to finish the load, but 510 to 520 seems to be getting pretty much everything! Its a pretty full load I'm using tho, not sure a micro dose would give enough satisfaction in terms of visible vapour at these temps. I'll try that at some point too. You know, for science.

Also, I think I can get this probe in through the new bowls handle hole... :) Or as I like to call it, the tradesman's entrance ;)

Seriously low temps @emmdeemo, love your experimenting with it. I have found that with my particular setup 640F is pretty spot on for me, though I may need to take it lower. I got a number of cough fits on the 2nd bowl so I think it's just too thick of vapor for me to handle. I think at those low temps a dab would be very tasty! Might not be the most efficient but it'd be enjoyable especially with some flower. How many hits are you getting off that loose full bowl?

@emmdeemo , I hear you on your lung sensitivity. I am just wondering a few things- have you ever tried any sort of supplement to help with that? There are many natural remedies that are very healing and supportive of healthy lung function. I am allergic to 99% of them, which ironically causes me even more suffering with my chest and excessive mucus production

But one that I simply could never do without and has been a lifesaver for me since I discovered it in 2006, is the "Oil of Oregano". This supplement in particular is of amazing benefit to the respiratory system and lungs, it is probably the best thing in the world an ex smoker could do who wishes to repair damage, as it has been shown to have the power to literally turn the clock back and refresh smoker's lungs which were considered a write off by doctors.

I don't mean to liken you to a smoker in that regard, it's just an example of its potential. Despite having severe respiratory symptoms, my lungs are actually perfectly healthy, just plagued by allergy symptoms and inflammation from infections, so it seems a lot worse than it really is.

Without the oil of oregano there is no way on earth I could ever vaporizer cannabis. It helps me to manage the allergic respiratory symptoms. If I didn't have it I'm not sure how I would manage to eat food either and cope with the mucus I get from that activity, but for sure vaporizing would be right off the charts immediately if there was no oregano oil handy.

Anyway, I just wanted to mention it in case you haven't heard or considered it before. Here is a link to the one @invertedisdead and myself use. It as as good as it needs to be, arguably the best in the world, alongside other brands I have used before, but a QUARTER of the cost for the highest quality:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUPER-40-...067398?hash=item33ce92ec86:g:rWgAAOSw9OFZFdyD

I recommend this one because it is 40% oregano oil to 60% olive oil. It must be diluted at least 50/50, but I prefer to dilute it to 60/40 or more because this practically eliminates it's fieriness (wow that's quite word isn't it?) and makes it so much easier to swallow without the burning sensation (which is completely harmless by the way).

You can also buy it undiluted for slightly cheaper and make it up yourself once you have a spare bottle. This is what I do, I always had 17.5 ml of olive oil and top up with oregano, to ensure the majority is olive oil.

Now separately I have another idea for you to consider. My allergies prohibit me completely from being able to vaporize any weed that I can buy because I am so allergic to chemical fertilizers, and suffer the most severe respiratory allergy to them, making my lungs feel like hell. I'm also allergic to virtually all organic fertilizers and suffer a similar but far less severe and long lasting reaction.

I can only use weed I have produced myself with very minimal fertilisation. Chemical fertilizers are very irritating to the vocal cords and respiratory tract, even for those without allergies. Some people are more sensitive than others but everybody is affected negatively just without noticing or realising it.

So maybe if you are using weed which has been grown with chemicals that could be a huge factor in the irritation you experience in your lungs? Just something to consider through time anyway, I promise you there is solid truth in this, though I cannot say how much it applies to your situation.

I was just checking out temps when that thought about number of hits crossed my mind. I'll put that on the list of things to check.

I noticed you posting about the oregano oil previously, its been logged for me to look into :) Very much appreciated. I'm a big fan of flax/linseed/marshmallow root for the mycelage (or whatever the spelling is, its been a while since I looked it up) and its mucous membrane coating properties. Amazon link bookmarked, thanks! Will def try a bit of that!

Honestly tho, for me these days, on bad lung days, so long as I dont irritate them they're not as bad as they used to be. Sheer bloody mindedness makes me put them through way more than they deserve by insisting on vaping through it, hence my drive for a temp I can handle and still do full bowls!

Humans are such easy prey.

EDIT: Well, shoving the temp probe in the handle hole has just completely changed my draw. No more slow draw speed for me. I've been wasting my time :)

alright, spill the beans over there sherlock :brow:

I gotta make sure this is repeatable and not just nonsense yet!

I might just be high and full of shit! :)

520 on the controller looks to be at least 370 to 430 air flow (EDIT: if my probe is in any way remotely accurate or to be believed). The temp goes up WAY quicker if I inhale fast. My usual slow draw was taking forever to climb in temp. I couldnt inhale fast enough to get the temp increase to level out, highest I got it too was 430.

This is with the Showerhead and Showercap, carbed before I start inhaling, leaving it on all the way thru the hit.

655F uncarbed is still my sweet spot. For me the beauty of the showerhead is the amazing airflow.

I guess thats the beauty of the showerhead for all of us, the sheer versatility. Theres no way I could kill a full bowl in so few hits on a shitty lung day at 655 uncarbed, I wouldnt be able to breathe, but I've just killed one full bowl in eight fairly fast draws at 530, carbed (even that was too harsh tonight, but I rushed through it just to count how many tokes I got, which didnt help). Normally, I'd have to give up or endlessly use an inhaler, which is just very silly :) The massive amount of airflow from the SH means the SC isnt so restrictive to make that an issue for me as much as the higher temps and no carb. Also means forgetful heat soaking doesnt kill the flavour.

This thing just hit a new level of awesome for me.

EDIT: Basket dose, carbed all the way thru @ 540f. Stopped producing visible vapour after 4 hits (all hits were wispy but def there). Load still looks way lighter than I normally take it. Took the temp up to 640, let the head sit and soak for a minute or two on the stand... tiny amount of vapour, shitty taste.

Wow, this thread moves quick! It's my new favourite thread (and vape) so I wanna keep up!

@NewVape710 I'm still waiting on your more detailed auto tune instruction that you had mentioned you'd get to about 8 pages back.

I've already done it with my controller awhile back. ;)
It just would be helpful for others here too if they wanted to get extra geeky with things. :brow:

I think i'm ready for this, i've been seeing my pid overshoot greatly upon heatup, but I think that's normal? I'll have to look up that auto tune post again.

Do PID's exist that can maintain a temp more rock solid? Or is this the nature of pids/coils? Please forgive my newbiness.

EDIT: AH! Also meant to say, I'm having a shitty couple of days with my lungs too, I'm now down at 540f, temp stepping as slowly as I can or my lungs start rejecting the notion that 'vapour is good'

I know you have had some issues recently thus requiring low temps. I cannot even believe how SMOOTH this beast is though, ZERO coughing....not once! And I tested it lots from 575 up to 725..... even the girl didn't cough, and the sv3 makes her cough because she's always rushing her sessions. Loving the ability to place SH down on stand and walk away and not worry!

When I read some cult members were using errlectric double woven titanium screens I knew I needed them. So far these are fantastic with plenty of air flow they keep much more ABV out of the water.

Thanks to everyone who recommended these errlectric double woven titanium screens -- If you own a Flower Pot SH you need these screens.

I'm so buying one of these!

Great, something else i need to get cuz the ABV in the water is gonna drive me NUTZ!

I use a claisen and my water tool stays clean save for the vapour boogers, but no abv, plant material etc. The claisen takes the biggest hit, and the bottom of the first part builds up what kinda looks like kief. I find the claisen also spaces the production further from my face.

I hope newvape will make them, i dont want to buy just this one item from this company.

Not sure about that errlectric double weave, but they will be making Ti screens.

I'm committed to do everything within my ability to make this the best desktop vaporizer on the market.
My friend, you have already done that. We appreciate all that you bring!!! Bring it on!

Easy to know the temp of the coil and nail but the air traveling through, around , over the flower’s is a different story

@lazylathe what is that formula you mentioned that can estimate bowl/herb temp?

EDIT: Well, shoving the temp probe in the handle hole has just completely changed my draw. No more slow draw speed for me. I've been wasting my time :)

This has been the biggest learning curve for me.... holy crap without the SC I have to bring my draw to a crawl, and then slowly speed it up, but i'm still getting used to it all. The SC does restrict draw and increase milk. Holy crap is the SC huge! That handle is pretty long.... nice quality, the handle has come loose, but my bowl hemp wick handle is stuck. Gonna have to get the pliars out, hopefully it wasn't glued in there lol.

For me the beauty of the showerhead is the amazing airflow.

It's so wide open it's like the LSV, FULL OPEN BORE! I think we're the same though, no SC and about 650f for now....super slow draw, then milks awesome for a second, and then it's all over.

Received my starter kit today. Missing handle, coil cover, and showercap.

Sorry to hear that man! My order was flawless. Anyways, buck up buttercup.... you have a new NewVape vape that you can still use and NV will make it right, and stat. You know how I feel about the supreme v3? well this has made me forget about it. Straight up!

Without the coil cover??

Not really needed? More of a "nice to have" to help retain some heat and provide a touch more protection against the coil?

Please email sales@newvape.com or pm me your email address and I will fix this asap. I apologize for the mistakes.

You're only human (I think?)

Some more random thoughts.....

DAMN! I don't even know where to start. Last night I was able to get a little more intimate with the FP. Not intimate like @Alexis and @ichibaneye needing to get a room (bro love respect!), but rather enough sessions to be able to get a much better feel for it. And wow what an experience!

You can add the SH to my list of vapes that i've been able to hear trichomes BURST! I've only heard this with the LSV, e-Nano, and rarely but still could with the Grasshopper. With the SH I get it pretty much every bowl. Perhaps it's my coarse shred that i'm using (kannastor fine grinder is in the mail), but it's pretty orgasmic to hear them snap crackle popping when crushing the load.

I still can't believe the flavour and the smoothness. So smooth! Perhaps things will change when I grind finer, but if this is as good as it gets i'm more than over the moon. I'm not used to the pid and temp changing, as it's not what i'm used to....because I can alter my experience with airflow, it seems like I can set the pid to ANY temp and get a similar extraction just based on my airflow/draw? I can use my girls 600 temp, and milk just by going super slow or SCing it. OR, i've been around 700 and up to 725, and even with a slow draw couldn't get heat/hot spots? So, for now i'll keep experimenting, and try to get it as low as possible this morning, and then try for the upper temps 700's at night.

Loving this thread.... what a difference compared to some others....so much love....and such characters. @muunch @ichibaneye your back and forth had me !!!!!!!!! So many poets here!

@Alexis forgot about your herbo.... just buy this thing trust me man! ZERO irritation, discomfort, and you KNOW how sensitive I am that I can only use a certain vape, like the sv3 because no grinding was required. However, with the SH, I can grind without issues whatsoever, it's THAT smooth. I can't even feel the vapour in my lungs....zero heat. Pure convection heaven. The girlfriend would NEVER EVER be able to vape ground material in the sv3.... no problem with the SH.

Thanks again everyone for allowing me into the Cult of NewVape. Some people just don't understand.

It's a NewVape thing.

Nope - happens to me with the kannastor finegrinder too sometimes! Gotta love it.

Idk too much about temp experimenting; I've liked these lower temps for the INCREDIBLE flavor while still delivering nearly full extraction in one hit. 640-650 is where I stay with a pretty fast draw all the way through. I do want to find a way to make the vapor more dense/less diluted with fresh air but meh, this works better than any other vaporizer I've used before so I just roll with it.

The PID will ALWAYS overshoot when first turning it on. Maybe it's to help heatsoak? Idk. Just the nature of it.

It WILL drop during hits, but it auto-corrects itself (and sometimes slightly overshoots while doing so, but it's all +/- 5degrees or so. Not sure if this is the unit itself or what. Still nothing to really bother me but I do note it and will be comparing once my hexnail comes in...

And the big drops usually happen during dabs/really long hits. Most I've seen is 10degrees. Usually 2-3~ for a flower hit.

edit: anyway of course nothing but good vibes here - you try taking a .1 flower rip off this thing and then getting pissed off. it's practically impossible.

Can't wait for that, perhaps I need to get my ass over to that thread to see what all the hexnail fuss it about!

Yeah man, I still can't even fathom the vapour. I have this organically grown outdoor Vanilla Haze that has been my hippy granola natural strain for the past few days, lowering my tolerance staying away from the high thc indoor for now, and it's always tasted great in my sv3, but always had this sort of "nutty roasted flavour" surely from the added conduction, and now with the SH I can taste things that I couldn't before, but good things! Instead of that roasted nutty taste, I get strong vanilla notes that last on my smacker for a while!

It's like rediscovering vaping again!

Thanks for the PID feedback dude....good to know all is good. What about the dual buttons? When I cut power to the coil the PID stays at about 100? Not sure what I should be doing...leave everything running all day? Or turn off and on during the day which is harder on it? The manual says to allow cool down and then turn off. But at bed time that's not an option.

muunch

It'll eventually cool down, but it's going to display whatever the room temp is. After leaving mine off for a while it'll sit at 77f or whatever if I leave the display on.

Personally... I leave mine on 24/7 though. On/off cycles wear out the coil faster. I'm sure realistically it's not too bad of a worry - especially since it's the ONLY "consumable" portion of the FP besides screens I guess? if you wanna count those

Also, yeah, my hype for the end of this month is sooooooo real. I cannot wait.
