I've had no shots, I'm vaccinated with weed, dont need em. Not had covid and have socialised with vaccinated (unweeded) people who got covid afterwards but I didnt. Now, I've had 3 shots. But so has she. So now, my (mostly tongue in cheek) hypothesis is that the herb has protected me.
I've had no shots, I'm vaccinated with weed, dont need em. Not had covid and have socialised with vaccinated (unweeded) people who got covid afterwards but I didnt.
Ergo it MUST be the weed
I’m not making any claims here. Anecdotes aren’t evidence. I’m simply holding a massive fucking W over my girlfriend for shits and giggles.
Also important to note, the study mentioned CBDA and CBGA. I do vape a lot of CBG kief. No way to know, but maybe it tipped the odds in my favor a bit.
That said, the Oregon article really focuses on CBGA and CBDA. I'm not going to pretend to be too knowledgeable on Cannabinoids, all I really know about them is that I enjoy them. I did think that those two go through a chemical change once heat is applied, at least at the temps we're vaping at - presumably high enough to activate the full spectrum, or at least most of it. Those 2 cannabinoids have some of the lowest boiling points so I would guess that by the time we're inhaling it, its been heated to the point of conversion. CBGA and CBDA would essentially have to be consumed via eating raw, unheated, weed, no?
Good point. Though I'm guessing your liver converts those acids into the "active" form, just like it does with THC.
Even before the 'vids there were studies showing active CBG is very helpful for infections and overall immune response. All I know is I'm glad I placed a few Wisconsin Hemp orders last year. He threw a gram of CBG kief in every order. So I'm gonna keep adding a dollop to my morning CBD bowl.
I should probably look into oral CBG as well. I have a shitty digestive system, and inhaled CBG helps calm it down a bit. I imagine eating it would be even better.
@BrianTL similar experience here, my girlfriend got COVID from her parents back in October 2020. We live together in a 2 bedroom condo. I started sleeping in the other room / using the second bathroom as soon as we realized she was exposed, wore masks around each other, etc. I never got it. I’ve been exposed a few additional times since and still haven’t gotten it. I’m convinced it’s the weed.
I dont think I've seen any oral CBG for sale, but I've never looked either.
99% CBG isolate is available at a lot of CBD vendors for really cheap. Actually now that I think of it, wouldn't the kief be mostly CBGA before it's heated? I guess I could just eat that. But I'm pretty sure most studies besides the recent 'vid one have said active CBG is beneficial. I've long considered decarbing some of the kief to make a nice AM tincture.
Even if it doesn't cure the 'vids, CBG is a great 'noid. Unlike CBD, modest amounts seem to enhance THC effects rather than blunting them.
“These cannabinoid acids are abundant in hemp and in many hemp extracts,” van Breemen said. “They are not controlled substances like THC, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana, and have a good safety profile in humans. And our research showed the hemp compounds were equally effective against variants of SARS-CoV-2, including variant B.1.1.7, which was first detected in the United Kingdom, and variant B.1.351, first detected in South Africa.”
Importantly, cannabigerolic acid and cannabidiolic acid were equally effective against the SARS-CoV-2 alpha variant B.1.1.7 and the beta variant B.1.351. Orally bioavailable and with a long history of safe human use, these cannabinoids, isolated or in hemp extracts, have the potential to prevent as well as treat infection by SARS-CoV-2.
“These compounds can be taken orally and have a long history of safe use in humans,” van Breemen said. “They have the potential to prevent as well as treat infection by SARS-CoV-2. CBDA and CBGA are produced by the hemp plant as precursors to CBD and CBG, which are familiar to many consumers. However, they are different from the acids and are not contained in hemp products.”
“We identified several cannabinoid ligands and ranked them by affinity to the spike protein,” van Breemen said. “The two cannabinoids with the highest affinities for the spike protein were CBDA and CGBA, and they were confirmed to block infection.
I got gifted a vial with it, and i can say it really potentiates the experience .I just started reading about this most common terpene but it seems it is one of the very few that acts directly on the CB-2 ,it is probably one of the strongest potentiators of the main cannabinoids.Wow, long read but chock full of solid data.
The article focused on BCP (B- caryophyllene) which can be
found in many plants, especially Marijuana.
In conclusion it states that clinical trials must be done
to fully understand how this works.
Now that the NFL is looking into cannabis maybe more
peer reviewed trials will be started.
Nothing was mentioned about smoking or vaping just oral
preparations.
I will reread it carefully.
Good article!

Smells really funny ,to be honest ,smth like pepper but also a bit piney, i kind of like the aftertaste - reminscent of a bubblegum.
There is also a read on it in this one if you scroll down a bit.Beta-caryophyllene - one of the most studied terpenes

@invertedisdead check out Bob Melamede website ( canna-sapiens) .. he shows results from using the cannabis oil to treat cancers ... one of the times it seemed like the cancer grew more but they later found that it was peroxide being formed at that stage to then further remove the cancerous mass ...
the one with the guy who had 120 some radiation """"" treatments"""" that completley ate the top of his head away is some horror story tyep shit ... the cannabis oil helped him grow back his scalp and started growing hair back as well before he ended up back in the hopsital and they killed him giving him something he was allergic too .. the doctors had written him off after 120+ unsuccessful tries at poisioning him as a treatment ( WTF??)
