I've had one for a few days now and it has currently replaced my TMs. I don't have the cap all the way in the wand, more like up to the spots on the cap and I'm at 13-15 blinks and get thick clouds on the first pull. I find it to be a cloud monster.
In terms of experience, it's the closest I've come to a joint, whereas the vapcaps have disappointed me.

Just tried this (first time trying the Wand w/ the Ceramo/Super Cap) and it worked great. 12-14 seconds from the back of the wand and the vapor's thick and very tasty. I reheated twice at like 6 seconds each.

I'd ask Camouflet, but after I got a sassy reply to an email the other day I'd rather see how I go here first. (No need to throw shade at people trying to understand some really obvious and prevalent safety risks.)

You know those vapes where you have a terrible first week experience? You can't dial them in, or you can't get a good hit out of them, or they're not what you're expecting, or maybe you're early into figuring out vape signatures and you misjudged what you need.

Traditionally for me it's been exceedingly hard for those vapes to ever win their way into my rotation... I might be 2 days away from giving up on it altogether.

Really sounds like you are heating the bowl rather than the plates. You only want to insert the cap into the wand so it just detects. I insert mine from the back so the cut outs of the cap are approximately level with the red band. 14 flashes on first heat up and 8 on reheats results in huge clouds. Usually I would get 3 or 4 cycles before the bowl is done for me natively. If you have the high capacity cap you can easily half that or get a massive one and done rip if you push it.

Here they show you how

If you see in the video they only insert it fully for the last couple of seconds to boost the hit. They seem to be able to clear in one go using a bong. Also do not overfill the bowl. It works best loosely packed.

I have now inserted a cork in the wand. The height is such that the wand is just activated. Now I'm testing how well it holds and the time for my comfort zone.

One of the worst ideas I've ever had. The height of the cork didn't fit, that could still be changed, but the cork get burnt and so it tastes strange....

I took some of the advice in this thread - thanks everyone - and I figured out the problem.

The problem is the bloody wand. They shouldn't be giving us advice on how to use the wand to get 6 half-ass, whispy draws - they should be telling us to shelve the Wand, it works like shit with the Ceramo, and actually hits comparatively hard with a torch. Like, will blow your mind with a torch after spending a week trying to dial it in with the wand...

I just tried it again with the standard cap: 15 seconds with the Ceramo inserted from the bottom, resting on the glass lip>thick, tasty clouds. I think I'd shave a second or two next time as this came out a little uneven, with no room for reheats.

I have a similar Wand routine and it always works great. Sorry @AndyO, apparently there's a ton of variation in some Wand versions and maybe yours is an outlier?

Do you have enough in the bowl, I find it only really fun with half a filling upwards.
Less and you combust faster....

To echo the other sentiments I am surprised that you can't get it to work with the wand. Personally I find it so easy and repeatable.

My instructions above were for the Convector XL and work for the Ceramo XL too. My point about not fully inserting the bowl probably doesn't really matter though as the ceramic bowl won't conduct like the metal of the Convector XL. I just partially insert it out of habit and to really focus on the plates only.

As others have said I would look at the batteries of your wand. Does it work okay on other devices? Seems very strange but glad you can still enjoy it with a torch.

Yeah, from my experience too I think this is some combination of battery or device problem (as in not performing as it should) or user error. But OP, we are here to help you get this figured out. But I'd hold off on advising against The Wand until we can get to the bottom of this.

I have to say, I like this thing. 15 blinks the first time, 7 the second and possibly the third time and it runs as I want it to. I don't need any further cooling, the ceramo is enough for me as it is, even though I have already tested it with glass beads.
Now the question arises, is the super capacitor cap worth it? Can I vaporize the bowl more comfortably without reheating?

I always do 1/2 bowls, so the extra heatup time and cool down time are unnecessary to me, making the premium price of the super cap a no. just using more battery for no good reason. I might sell the inductor because the wand is more predictable and all the power I need.
and like I tell everybody on the jobsite "'cords suck".

My new favorite Ceramo set up.

Love that the HMK glass piece is standalone, and its mouthpiece is nice and open. With it, I can use a Wand almost like a lighter, lifting it on and off to modulate my hit, which works great with that super quick to heat up Supercapacitor cap. Just so easy to tilt the glass slightly and feels much nicer ergonomically to me.

And the HMK pieces are going for under $100 in most of the auctions I've seen. Killer for color US-blown glass.

(BTW, on the left on a O'Connell Woodworks Micro v4 and a random cool looking torch I found on Amazon)

The Ceramo really preserves flavor well and I've found it to be exceptional as a WPA.

Good to know, thanks for the correction. Another Canadian glassblower that gives great value is Gibson Glass. Sadly his studio burned down recently and I'm not sûre if he's up and running again yet.
