A large version is in the works, but won't be released for some time. What would be your ideal diameter?

Having the screws the other way around was considered, but to keep the aesthetic of the top and be able to swap out the top for other future designs I decided to have the screw heads accessible through the grinding chamber.

For now the different grind plate options will only be for the bottom plate.
I've tried several sizes, up to 4", which was too large. 3" to 3.5" seems ideal

Hello everyone, I need your help identifying conservation charities for pollinating species around the globe. I have reached out to the Xerces Society which primarily works in North America to restore habitat for pollinators, but since the Bud Bee Grinder is sold globally I don't think it's fair to donate only to a charity that primarily serves North America. My idea is that if you buy a Bud Bee the portion of the sale that will be donated will go to a conservation charity that operates as geographically close to the customer's delivery address as possible. Based on the pre-order sales I need to find conservation programs that operate primarily in the UK, EU, and Australia. If you have any suggestion please DM me or post to this thread. Thank you!

If not them directly, they may be able to give you good info on various countries. They have a 100% rating from charity navigator

another issue I have w/other grinders is not having enough space between the teeth to load a piece of flower of any size, I don't want to break down buds to little pieces to get em in the grinder, I've already done 1/2 it's job. The Auto9 was good for this.

I’m definitely keeping an eye for the coarse plate!

I’d prefer a smaller size like the flower mill mini because I grind only what I use right then, which isn’t huge.

Pre-ordered the onyx variant as I generally grind medium/fine and was about to buy an aroma 3 so thought I'd take a punt on these as all my other gear is black so it would be cool if this matched my other grinders/herb storage! Looking forward to getting it in hand and taking it for a spin :) will likely buy a medium plate too when available.

Keep a look out for the up coming coarse grind plate. The teeth will be spaced out more than the fine grind plate.
Does one have to be especially careful to keep buds out of the bearing?
Not as much as one would think, from my testing as long as you aren't balancing a bud directly on top of the stinger or placing it directly into the bearing inside the top there won't be a problem. Once the grinding chamber is closed the bearing is isolated with a labyrinth seal from grinding debris.

Isn't the bearing replaceable?
It is an standard skate bearing, isn't it?

Another big update for everyone. All pre-orders have finally been fulfilled despite some major delays and problems with the anodized finish. I kept the pre-order customers up to date when it was happening, and want to share the story with the FC community.

When I launched the pre-orders the prototype Bud Bees were coming back from anodizing with a beautiful finish and believed it was a solved problem, however once the production batches came back from anodizing it was defect after defect resulting in a finish that was unacceptable to ship. After weeks of troubleshooting and working with the anodizer to tweak the process I finally started to get the results that matched the original prototypes. The anodizer and myself are still not certain how the original prototypes came out so good in the beginning with no tweaks to the process. To further add to the delays I also had the pleasure of needing an unexpected surgery at the beginning of March, which made almost all work grind to a halt. I am recovering well and I'm glad the pre-orders are now fulfilled, thank you everyone who pre-ordered and waited patiently. Moving forward I will be much more hesitant to take pre-orders to avoid a repeat of this.

Another topic that is very important for my American customers are tariffs. If you are not aware large tariffs have been imposed on products being imported from Canada into the US, and since the Bud Bee is made in Canada (with American aluminum) the Bud Bee would be subject to these tariffs. However, there is a customs law known as de minimis which excludes shipments under $800 USD from being subject to any tariff which means for my American customers you can freely order and import Bud Bees without worrying about tariffs.

Lastly progress on the coarse grind plate is going well, prototypes have been made, tested, and tweaked and now that I'm happy with the grind production will start. There is also very limited inventory left over from the pre-order available on the website now. More inventory incoming in a week or two.

But POTUS keeps claiming that you as the foreign manufacturer have to pay the tariff. Which will make US citizens rich. 🧐

Anyway, very interested in your product, but I have zero use for a fine grind. When the coarse plate comes out, will that be available instead of the fine plate with new grinder orders?

Funnny, I'm sure I saw something about it being "fine" in this thread, but can't find it right now. I scanned through the video again and maybe my eyes told me "that looks rather fine".

I would like an ACAP (As Coarse As Possible ;-))
