Have you posted about this in the Herb Grinders thread?

I like the every-layer held together with magnets instead of threads, but I worry about the magnet's strength, and the bottom section and the middle section freely spinning seperately. That brings me back to "finger-tipping", which I don't like with grinders. It can make them a lot harder to start when full if your hand-joints aren't feeling too good

I'm certainly game to try one as long as it's reasonably priced.

Yeah not sure about the spinning but I would think while grinding, you would be holding the bottom and middle section fairly tightly while turning the top.
Magnets seem very strong to me from the videos on IG.
Time will tell and if it updates and they are for sale i will try one out for sure!
Teeth look good and should cut fairly quickly but who knows how hard it will be to start.

I have not posted in the Grinders thread yet as it is not released and did not want it to get lost.

Diggy Smalls

Notorious
The way they make the piece middle makes the middle lock in and stop moving. At most it could turn a half turn in either direction from the looks of it, but it could also kick it into a precise position. That middle piece they say also cuzc any herb that might happen to be in the middle, similar in theory to the side teeth. Both are issue I don't like about my grinder.

This thread has been quiet for a while now...

I messaged the maker of this grinder to ask if there had been any developments since we last spoke a while ago.
They will be releasing 2 grinders, one for a medium grind and one for a fine grind.
The fine grind required a few modifications here and there for the perfect fine grind.

Now I have some serious GAS for this grinder!!
No threads to clean out, no unscrewing to access my herb and I love the outer shape and design!
My VAS is nowhere to be seen though so that is good!

Once I have info on the grind consistency or available dates, prices etc I will update again!

The Diamond Cut Grinder

Disclaimer: I found this company on InstaGram a while ago and thought the grinder was very innovative. It has not been seen by anyone on FC, so I took the initiative to contact the manufacturer about the grinder. We chatted on IG and I shared my thoughts on available grinders and what I thought was missing from grinders.
The grinders were provided free of charge and a review with pictures was the price! And to keep using them and see how they fair with a lot of grinding.
Okay, now that is out of the way we can talk about the Diamond Cut Grinder!!!

This is a fairly new company from British Columbia and they are just entering the grinder game!
To start with, they will be offering two different types of grinders, both 3 piece:
A medium grind and a fine grind.
A 4 piece is in the works as well due to the fact that some people love collecting kief.

Materials used are:
7075 T651 Aluminum
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7075_aluminium_alloy
This is an expensive AL alloy that has strength comparable to many steels.
Mostly used in the aircraft industry.

From the outside both grinders are identical, they both have 3 parts and the top and bottom of the grinders have a very nice milled pattern. There is no Knurling around the outside but I do not find that they require this.
Their action is extremely smooth and I have had no issues with grinding any type of bud.
The grinder utilizes 3 different styles of teeth!! Never sen this variety in one grinder!
4 sided teeth, 5 sided and 6 sided teeth!
There is even a very sharp cutting tooth located in the middle, so even if you get some herb where the magnet is, it will slice it up without any issue!

I have owned the two grinders for just over a week and they have taken the place of my all time favorite grinder, the KannaStor Vape GR8TR.
The holes are big enough for all the material to fall through without blocking them and the grind is still fine enough for my liking. It is somewhere between the New Vape Fine Grinder and the Vape GR8TR.

The grinders weigh in at around 150 to 155g and look a lot heavier than they actually are.
The top part has a lot of weight to it, the middle section is feather light and the bottom section is slightly heavier than the middle part. The lower herb chamber is beautifully milled with a rounded bottom for easy emptying.

the locking mechanism is very unique and I have never seen it used on a grinder before. It reminds me of how some blenders connect for a secure high torque coupling!

Loading the grinder requires the bud to be broken into smaller bits to fit between the teeth.
The lid slides into the herb with ease and grinding is very easy. You can easily tell when you are done when all the friction disappears!
You can use the old trick of grinding upside down for a finer grind on both grinders as well.
The grind is nice and fluffy and does not stick together as my GR8TR grind does.
This also means better airflow through the load and less restriction from the herb compacting during an inhale.

So far I have had no issues at all when using this grinder. It has ground any type of herb that I have on hand, rock hard nugs to softer, sticky nugs all ground with ease.

The Beautiful 3 piece Diamond Cut Grinders!

Opening the grinders for the first time. Fine grind on the left, medium on the right.
Look at those teeth!!! Note center pin tooth as well.

In all their glory! Note the fantastic finish, bevels on the bottom of the middle plates holes and the unique locking mechanism!

Close up of the different tooth designs. The spacer ring is also visible and it provides a silky smooth grind.

Close up of the amazingly light center section. The teeth are designed to cut everywhere! Around the center post, where the magnet is and even around the sides of the grinder!

The underside of the middle section is another work of art! 3 solid pins lock onto the bottom section can be seen. The bevels aid in the herb falling straight through. Very nice engraving and amazing surface finish!
347thl4.jpg

The lower section with rounded sides and the other part of the locking mechanism. Extremely easy to engage and does not move at all during grinding.

And now for some usage shots! I do not grind a lot at a time, so this is a true test for a 3 piece grinder!
The more you load the easier it is to grind and force through to the collection chamber. Grinding small amount really tests the whole system imo.

First up is the Diamond Cut Grinder Fine:
Loaded up with 0,5g

+-10 easy 1/4 turns

And the bountiful harvest!

The Diamond Cut Grinder Medium:
Again a small load of little nugs.

A nice medium grind!
You can still see the glands on the herb and not a pile of kief!

Damn......I do too....but I refuse to pay that much for a grinder....too bad. I will stick to my SLX 2.0, small S&B mill, and newly obtained small 2 piece Space Case (which I like...not as fine as the S&B, but finer than SLX).

$99 + shipping and the site goes live soon and next week they will likely have the anodized ones for sale.

99........:uhoh:

It is quite pricey but it is Canadian $$.
Works out to $75 US

It really is a one stop grinder and with the addition of a screen will be even more user friendly!
Unfortunately the Aluminum used is the biggest expense since it is very high grade material.
There was some talk of offering a cheaper version in a different alloy but I think that is still in the future.

Another new Stainless Steel grinder also recently launched for $90 US...

That is not so bad.....maybe with some sale or coupon...it would then be more acceptable. It does look really nice I think, and I really like that bottom piece too. I wonder if you could make a 2 piece out of that tooth design and have it work well.

Oh....one thing you forgot to mention Lazy......are the dimensions. How wide is it?

Then $75 is not too bad....especially if you can get a coupon or small discount. I really like the bottom piece quite a lot. Wonder if a 2 piece version with that tooth design would work good too?

Lazy...you forgot to mention something in your review....the dimensions. What is the width?

Oops!! My first sort of review and still learning.

Dimensions:
Just under 2 1/4" wide
Just over 1 1/2" high
Weight is around 150grams

@LabPong, good weed? :brow: You wrote 2 of the same posts.

@lazylathe, I would like to see a coarse blade & would like the blade insert offered individually so I could purchase both a coarse & medium.

I am not sure but I think there may be that option when available to purchase.
The top part from my fine grinder fits and works with the medium grinder.
A likely situation would be either to buy a fine grinder, a medium middle section and possibly some pollen screens to turn it into a 4 piece!

This is going to be a unique grinder!

This thing looks really nice! Is there any word on when it's going to be released for sale yet though?

Also @lazylathe I know you said the company's from British Columbia, do you know if the grinder is going to be made there also, or is it going to be made in China?

So there will come 3 different versions regarding materials?

And what are their differences performancewise?

Am I right that the special Aluminium isn't cleanable by a dish washer as reg Alu w/o damaging the surface?

Perhaps the inventor should enter this thread himself?

EDIT: Does he know that there already is a grinder called "Diamond Cut Grinder"? Guess he don't need a law suit cause of copyrights?

The designers are taking all the thoughts and ideas and implementing them and making adjustments to what they have now.
Some people had sticker shock, so a slight redesign to allow all parts to be interchangeable is being worked on. Slight changes to tolerances need to be made. All parts will be interchangeable.

I do not clean my grinders with my eating utensils... it is easy enough to clean at my desk in 5 minutes.
Will ask about the dishwasher safety.

I mentioned the new SS grinders price as a comparison to the Diamond Cut only, they are NOT making a SS grinder.

Instead if throwing crumbs down, please give me a link to the other grinder with the same name?

This one:
https://dabwizard.com/multi/product/4-Piece-Diamond-Cut-Herb-Grinders-2-2

It is called the Diamond cut herb grinder.
The one in this thread is called The Diamond Cut Grinder.

@sixstringsmash
Made 100% in BC! They have sent me pictures of their machinery that I will upload a bit later. I have pictures of my beta grinder being manufactured.
