Brainstorming with Engineer

Brainstorming is much better when herbalized, don't you think? Just remember to writ that shit down!

If Herbie were mobile around the house, in other words cordless, but not pocket size mobile, would that be a step in the right direction? Imagine, still a powerful home system, but not tethered to a wall. Battery pack built into the base and a docking station. Put it back to charge overnight, and during the day easily move it to the bedroom, living room, bathroom :\, deck, car, etc. Thoughts???

Thanks to those who offered up couches! I should have stated a general location or direction apparently  Any couches in NorCal, Oregon Coast or Salt Lake? Ziggin and Zaghin. PM me!

Yes!!! A portable for home use so not tied to a cord.
A great model to look to for inspration/copying is the miniVAP. 3 hour battery on lower heat. Hardly ever needs cleaning. Superb taste. Quality, solid, functional, aluminum construction.

For grins I've just starting using the miniVAP with the 110V AC adapter puck and do feel somewhat tied down. A portable Herbie with a similar AC adapter puck so it's a desktop and a portable

As long as the battery is user replaceable, it would be a great idea! how about a little back pack to fit in the current power slot? maybe it plugs in as you lift the lid so it does not drain when not in use.

@Engineer - whatever is easiest for you to develop....if you can create a simplified streamlined plug-in for the time being, and get it out to market faster, IMO that would be the way to go. I'd much prefer it if it had a glass path, or way to mate with glass, and eliminate the tubing. Are you considering keeping the fan for bag blowing, or just direct vape? Although I find that the bags work incredibly, and the convection dabs are the tastiest i've ever experienced, I could live without it. I guess you have so many options for many versions, have you given more thought as to what direction you would actually prefer to go, or are still just in the information/feedback gathering stage? I still think it's so awesome that you are present here, and i've never been more excited to be a part of a thread and future development of a vape since the original Vapexhale Cloud days! I feel like a giddy school boy again!

Any plans on a visit to Canada? :brow:

@Engineer -- one of the things I love most about my MiniVap is that I can unplug it and slap the battery on it and carry on around the house. Also, if you are going to develop a new vape and want to talk about it on the forum it would be appropriate to open your own thread in the candidates section, rather than talk about it in this thread.

To the glass hounds...I haven't paired my HT with Herbie in a while. Now when I want water with Herbie I just stick an Extreme elbow in the whip and drop that in my favorite glass. It's super easy and I haven't noticed a drop in taste. Can any of you guys comment with this setup?

Many glass hounds, like myself are purists and don't want any tubing in the way. Your setup definitely works, and is most versatile, and I tried it myself but wasn't a fan. I suppose this is the only way to make it work if you don't own a HT, and tiny silicone adapter to mate it with. I'm hoping for a future Herbie from @Engineer that can be used inverted with regular bubblers, much like a Nano or Cloud! Great point on starting a new thread....that should be alot of fun and a great place to share feedback/ideas for the next latest and greatest up and coming!

I would buy this product so fast it is ridiculous, especially if the form factor were similar to a log. and even moreso if it had the option of cordless (battery pack) operation. I dream of a halogen-based unit designed specifically for both direct draw and use with water tools. I would pay top $ for a product like this, and I think it might be cheaper to build than a Herbie too

I have years of experience with whips and bags and have basically abandoned them both. just not my preference of delivery method

Still love my Vapolution 2.0 with the battery pack, Biggest hitting "portable" I've used so far. A portable herbie would be pretty sweet too.

Battery powered portability with desktop performance. Now Ain't that what we're all really looking for ??

Size is no issue for me. All I want is taste, quality, and potency. A heat on demand or inhalation would be nice like the elevape. Or just button operated like the ff being the elevape can be tempermental. With the halogen bulb this would be possible, and as long as the bulb could be user replaceable. If I drop it then I'll be able to order the bulb. Or something like the aromed bulb. Full convection with the fan assist, with the ease of the herbie and MV to keep clean. The portable market is full of competition, but I believe vapist will support a product that is worth the money.

THIS! ^^^ Ultimate IMO....small, compact, rapid heat up/temp adjust like herbie, but with a glass tube, maybe like a Solo but with Herbie technology? Even if it's a little bigger... a glass gong, and screw the whip and bags. This is my dream vape.

Nice brainstorming. I'm popping on and off line every couple days or so. I'm up in the northern Cali in Homboldt - ganja grower central. Man am I getting a nice overdue education on this miracle plant.

So what I'm hearing is, a vaportherapy-only, halogen powered, fan-assist optional, designed for glass bubbler vape. With the fan assist it could still be whip or balloon optional, or perc the bubbler on its own, on a docking station. Essentially, retrofit a Cloud with a halogen heater and good temperature control, a fan, and battery pack. Is that the the idea?

I guess the question is what would be more useful, a halogen powered cloud, or a Minivap/Mighty size Herbalizer. Since the Herbie is already plugged in, I agree a Cloud style body would interface better for water tools; but I think more people would rather go unplugged. Preferably something cordless that also works with water tools would kill numerous fowl with one stone. Not sure if that is possible with the halogen tech, no idea what the power requirements are.

With the Herbie and vapes like the MV, I would love a glass staw/mouth piece for dry use. I've seen all the many ways members hook glass to these devices, but I would love to avoid the having to use a piece of a whip or a water piece to make the connection. Whip, balloon, glass wet and dry= perfect.

You forgot the "It should only be $50, last forever, be discrete and be both stylish and stealthy.":ko:

On POINT!!!
I like the option to still be able to blow a bag or lounge around with a whip, makes it appealing to a larger audience.

It would be cool to have a hybrid Cloud/Aromed unit!
Glass air path, rapid clean halogen power, digital temp control and multi use!

I thought I was the only one with these ideas! It is great to hear other people have come to the same conclusion. At this point, a portable Aromed would be my absolute dream unit. Having said that, I just recently tried the Mighty from s&b and have to say was very impressed by both the flavour and density of the hits. Fast heat-up time too. But it's just not all-glass!

Need to make the Herbie have the ability to do one hit extractions thru glass. When I'm on the go, there's no time for me to sit down with the whip or bag. Have you guys used a sub before? I want to see that and herbie combined, with a reclaim catcher built in. :)

If you're going to include bag functionality, I can't help but hope for something a little more simple this time around. The squeezevalve bags are cool, but after they start leaking or the bags start sticking that excitement is soured for me by the complication of replacing the bags. I'd like to see an option closer to the Extreme Q's bags: simple, durable, and easy to replace the bags.

I like the sound of portability, but don't know how much I'd want to pay for it. I think whether or not this appeals to me really depends on the final form factor. If you really nail it I can't help but imagine my vape spending time in nearly every room, instead of staying still.

All glass is a white elephant IMO - more shit to break and not necessarily the best tasting.

The Mighty and Crafty both taste better than each Cloud/Cloud Plus I have used, better than the sub, better than the E-nano (both of which I have owned and used extensively).

Remember, all glass is only necessary when we are dealing with manufacturers who don't have top notch engineers who can determine the appropriateness of any material, not just the low hanging fruit (everyone who knows anything about vape materials knows that glass is inert, but it is also fragile and unwieldy as fuck!).

I too once thought that all glass was the holy grail. The Versa Infinity fiasco definitely showed me to be careful what you wish for; but after seeing this brave new world of tasty cloud producing non-offgassing plastic vapes - I am prepared to eat my words and accept that all glass is not necessarily the best at all!

I too have suffered from "plastiphobia" in the past but no more. I am healed, praise S&B . . .
