That topic of vaporisers came up with a few friends and we got talking.
I'm a big advocate for vaporisers, so we get talking about the pros and cons of each type of administration and an interesting point came up.
Everyone loves smoking cones, but it was more than that, people love smoking bongs, more specifically people love smoking out of bongs. At first I was a little confused why people are hesitant to switch to all-vape and in hindsight maybe a little obvious.
We have all been smoking for a fair while, but I don't really smoke that much, when I hit the bong, I don't really milk it as I hate the burn so just take smaller hits to finish the cone.
But for others, that burn is the first sign that they are about to get high, so for years and years, that feeling of discomfort, like the first time, about to cough a lung out, now routine, almost benign. Just like it took some time to appreciate the bitterness of beer, it's not that it is any less bitter, but the taste of the bitterness is now understood to be a good thing, and in a few moments the joy of alcohol will wash over.
Grind
Pack
Spark
Burn
This routine is interrupted using a vape. Those who smoke out of bongs, and more so when spun, being a healthier/more efficient way of getting high is not the entire point, it is the routine of getting high, of getting home from a long day, throwing a some nugs and tobacco into the coffee grinder and punching down a cone. Old habits die hard.
At the moment at least here in Australia, using vapes is more a novelty than a serious way of getting high, at least in my opinion.
Thoughts?
