best vape for hash

Just about to pull the trigger on my first, just for hash. I hope it meets or exceeds my sv3 experience! (which has been absolutely stellar).

Should I buy the M? Or go with the Omni or vong? Does it really matter? I think I read somewhere that the Ti tip was essential if using it with extracts.

The Omni and any TI version is best, as it allows for the best airflow. But, the M is a damn nice vape too and for the price can't be beat. Id recommend getting both, but the all TI version is best in class.

It is a very different beast than the SV3 but i personally use the VC much more often. The VC is faster to use, and has a very unique vapor profile that utilizes convection, conduction, and radiant heat. It is obviously a great portable, but can hold it's own at home. It doesn't take up much space. It is amazing how cool the vapor is considering the short vapor path. I love the SV3 but the vapor comes in very hot if you don't use it with a water tool.

@Gray Area the Lotus is a great vape too but is pure convection and thus not ideal for hard hash and concentrates IMO. I have found vapes that use both conduction and convection are superior for all hard concentrates.

I've been considering doing exactly the same myself...
I get nice Moroccan hash from source from time to time. Not full melt but bubbles nicely nevertheless and is pretty nice.

I think i've basically retired flowers and replacing with hashes! I have so many different strains and sources, that i've developed a real appreciation for it, and furthermore it's way smoother for me and doesn't fuck with any of my allergies to plant material.

Have you tried in your SV3? The experience is absolutely sublime. You've probably seen my concentrate stem mod in the thread, but I just throw some crumbled in there (or grated if it's rock hard like my Rolex), heat it up with the stem inserted to 380-400, then take a nice slow rip and whitewall (flavour country). Then when it thins, I remove, tamp/stir/fluff, re-insert, heat back up, and now it's time for the money shot! I've just been loving it!

Thanks man, that's easy then - Omni it is - airflow is the name of the game for me here. How would you say the omni ranks in airflow vs sv3? I assume maybe slightly more restricted? Sv3 is tolerable for me.

Is the VC vapor profile really that unique vs the sv3's convection/conduction/radiation? Why do you think the vapour is cooler?

Completely agree, so in your experience is there anything better or close to as good as the VC for hard concentrates? Now that i'm retiring flowers, i'm left with only the sv3 to work properly with hash and extracts, and planning to add the VC to the collection. Any others that could compete at this level for hard hashes? The only others to work well for extracts for me was the E-nano using cotton, but not sure just how effective it would be for the harder hashes. Probably an airflow nightmare.

And That Ain't No Joke, You Can Disappear In Smoke
Vapcap all the way

Well I went ahead and purchased the VapCap, the $50.00 basic model along with 3 screens for $5.00. Seems a fair price and sure looks like it will do what I want, smoking hash in various forms. I will review after I receive and use it a few times. I still have to go to the Apothecarium SOMA hopefully this week, but depends on the weather as I won't be mt. biking in the rain.

Nice! I was researching this all day yesterday and some use the M solely because it excels at hash! Some said it was even better than a Ti tip because it maintains heat longer. I'm still torn though, I have some trusted sources that have told me it's near torture for airflow through a bong, so I think i'll stick with my sv3 because another source has told me that it's even better than the VC for hash with much better airflow.

Apparently the VapMan is pretty decent but I think it can only do micros. I'm crushing .1g to .15g at a time in the sv3, but it works fine with .05g or less.

Looking forward to your review!

I love vaping hasch in my Sticky Brick Junior from Sticky Brick Labs.
  • As it is flame heated it allows for very high and diverse temperatures. Like to vape my hash that way.
  • Has a big bowl which is very easily accessibel for stirring and cleaning. Stirring is in my opiniion especially importent when vaping hash so easy access to the bowl is a big advantage. I find a big bowl good for spreading the hash and allowing room for different protective layers.
  • Uses a standard steel screen for filter which is easy to clean by removing and burning. Hash clogs everything so thats helpful.
The Dynavap Vapcap also does a fine job vaping hash but is not as easy to access for stirring and cleaning and I personally find the chamber sice too small.

Also tried the Arizer Solo as I read somewhere it should be good for vaping hash. Not a good advice. Not enough heat, small chamber which is hard to access for cleaning and clogs easily. That one made me avoid electric devices for vaping hasch.

arizer eq with ddave mod is excellent for vaping hash. you just sandwich is between two screens and stir often. if its pressed hash youll need to draw air through it to warm it up and after that first stir youll get great hits

I'm using a j-hook and my Splinter/Elite/Tubo upside down. Works great with any vape. The biggest "problem" about vaping hash is dirt/cleaning and that you have to stir. To prevent the screen from clogging I put a small amount of weed on the screen, just covering it, and top on that the hash :)

Don't like to use cotton or hemp fiber for myself. Lots of fiddling and bad taste with the first one or two puffs.

best vape for hash

this is a continuation of the best vape for hash on legacy FC

My favourite is the Dynavap with a 6mm Terp pearl in it with the hash on-top. I like to heat with my induction heater. For the first heating I hold the Dynavap upright placing the IH on upside down and heating 5 seconds passed the click, the rest of the time I used the IH as normal.

My favorites for vaping concentrates have to be the Sai TAF and the Divine Tribe V4.

Heating a bucket with concentrate in it seems like the perfect solution to all those devices I had with coils and such.
So much leaking, so much waste, such worse taste, with those types that you just place concentrate on the coil and blast away....

With the Sai TAF or DT V4, using either the quartz or titanium buckets, you get clean flavor each time with no mess, no waste !

They incorporate a heater disc placed underneath either a quartz or titanium cup (your choice). Saying this for people who aren't familiar with these devices.

I'm thinking about posting my review of each in the Concentrates thread, but not sure if they belong there.

Anyway here's a couple if images of them:

(The DT V4 quartz cup (with top removed))

(This is how the Sai TAF quartz cup is, disassembled)
Another great thing about these devices is that the coils last an amazingly long time, I"m talking 6-8 months with heavy usage !
The concentrate never touches the actual heating disc, so they really last quite a while !

The Sai TAF is a little easier regarding changing the coils. The DT V4 has two screws to undo, whereas the Sai TAF coil just unscrews out by hand.
However, if you don't maintain these devices, I.E., keeping them clean etc, then you may have issues changing the coils.

That's all I've got to say here, except, naturally, make sure your concentrates come from a reputable (high-quality) source, that there are no added ingredients other than terpenes. Avoid concentrates which have had thickeners or other additives. Be safe !

Not sure that post belongs here, unless you're using your sai for hash? And from what little I know about it I don't think that you would be? If I'm incorrect please share your method, if I am correct perhaps the mods could move this to the concentrate for noobs thread

My apologies your the first person I've heard of using hash in their sai. I could see using a bubble hash, in my experience it mostly dissolves away but I'd have a harder time with a mess from the live hash or Dutch platinum blonde hash I have. I suppose the sai is more versatile than I thought, thanks for letting me know dude

Oh....
I'm not sure the Sai would work for European Styled hashish, it's best for hash oil.
Hm.
Perhaps indeed the mods could move my post to 'concentrates for noobs' then .....

Uh what else would I use it for ?
Concentrate = Hash , no ?
IMO this would work well for non-bho 'hash' just as well.
What type of 'hash' are you talking about ?

I am sorry, but not all Concentrate = Hash.
Concentrate comes in so many forms. Hash is a specific type.

Agree with Bad Dog on this one.
Perhaps using this with a fine bubble, full melt, but the Sai is NOT for your fine blonde hash.

Hash is Hash, European is no different than in the States (other than they have been working with it longer and have more experience).

Additionally BHO is note really comparable to hash, even though it has hash in the name.

Best point of education for you would be to start following Frenchy Canoli on every platform, he is a true master in every way.

...no need to relocate posts, I am sure many others have similar questions and it is an overwhelming and confusing arena with seemingly new forms of concentrate coming out all the time.

I've always followed this thread because it is just a great question: What is the best vape for Hash?

In my book hash oil should still count, it’s a kissing cousin to hash and seems to have a harder time with most vapes.

Perhaps:thinker:

I just tend to put traditional hash in its own category, nothing quite like it!
Oil tends to vape more easily in a variety of devices, but finding one suitable for hash seems to be a greater challenge.

I know Frenchy has a relationship with Aldo (Jyarz), as they did a collaboration together... would love if Frenchy participated on the NFC!

I agree and that is why I thought this thread was worth preserving. It can be a tangled mess when you look at concentrate and their relationships with one another not to mention that almost extreme variation within its own style.

Though my supply of it seems to have dried up bubble hash in the Ditanium is another favourite however I solely use the Sneaky Pete whipless glass hand piece for it. I put enough flower to just cover the screen then take a piece of hash and press it into a very thin circle a little less than the diameter of the bowl, put it on top of the flower then cover with more flower and tamp down the bowl. To help the hash taste shine through a little more I'll use a blander strain and use as little as possible. The first hit is very flavourful, don't stir or you'll make a mess then take the second more potent hit, feel free to stir and take the worth while clean up hit. With bubble hash this technique will work as low as a bit passed noon on the dial for some really good flavour but I prefer around 1-1:15 for a good mix of flavour and effects. More traditional hash can be used with the same technique with a little variation, a hotter starting temp around 1 to 2, take the same hits but the hash won't fully vaporize and will make a slight mess when you stir.

IMO old school pressed hash is the most tricky thing to vape. It's got a lack of surface area and airflow peremation similar to vaping whole unground nugs, and you need even more power/heat to penetrate the oily resin matrix to expose compounds to their boiling point.

Dry sift hash is very easy to vape.

Full melt oils vape easily in concentrate centric conduction vaporizers.

IME, e-nail powered convection vaporizers with nearly unlimited horsepower have been the best I've seen at vaping real hashish. Using a razor blade to cut off a super thin sliver seems to work well.

Lower grade hash can be pressed into rosin for a full melt oil which can be dabbed on a nail or concentrate atomizer.

I've said it before, but if dry sift was more readily available I don't think I'd grind another nug ever again.

If you're a real OG, a glass glow rod at the perfect temperature probably still gives one of the strongest hashish experiences ever. With this method the ratio of vaporization to combustion will highly depend on the purity of your hash. Remember its the plant material that is usually catching on fire , the resin itself has an affinity for vaporization. I strongly believe this is why hashish was more popular than smoking flower amongst ancient cannabis using populations, because hash produces more vapor than flower, even without using an actual vaporizer.

You can even vape hashish with the radiant heat of a hemp wick if you're really good.

In the Ballpark
For traditional pressed hash it may help to freeze it and grind it to a fine powder with a coffee grinder for maximum surface before vaporization.

I don't know why it was not discussed in any detail in the previous thread, but there is one tool I know of that vapes Hash better than ANYTHING we typically use or discuss on this forum.

Shisha. Nargile. HOOKAH.

Its old school for sure, but does a fantastic job!
While I have not yet tried one, I believe the gold standard for hash extraction has got to be a Quasar bowl on top of a standard hookah. Hookah engineering from France - QUASAR® - Quasar

I cant think of a finer way to treat your Dutch Platinum Blonde

Though I have not used it, I really don't see how this could be anything short of a homerun! Does appear to hog a LOT of material though.

It's the vapman for me. I get an incredible flavour and great high from a small amount. I remember being shocked by his good the flavour was from my first vapman with hash. I haven't managed to get the same success from the dynavap ..... yet.

To vape traditional hash I tried with different degrees of success Vapman, Vapbong, Vaponic, Mighty and Volcano with oil pad. But my advice it to stay away from traditional hash since it gets cut with all sort of materials directly at the source, the most harmless cuts are plant matter, henna, honey. If you have the equip you could rosin press it, but there are better and safer sources for cannabinoids other than traditional hash.

Have you heard about the boom on Mizar 5?
I've been messing up with different types of hash from one of the dispensaries near me. I've found its worked well with my FlowerPot to break off a thin piece then vape it for a bit on top of a small bed of flower. After the flower starts to get a bit dark I take the bit of hash out and break it up between my fingers, it breaks up to more of a kief like consisentcy after being exposed to some heat which I stir in with the rest of the bowl and finish it.
