Best "throw away" pen for vacation?

Hey everyone, once again we are heading to Utah for a 4 day ski vacation. I used to bring my MFLB, but I lost it on the top of Snowbird last year. I was thinking of bringing my Pax this time until I saw an blurb in a local MMJ magazine for a pen called the "Vape & Bake" disposable concentrate pen.

It seems like a great way to ski and medicate and it's advertises 250 hits. Problem is, I can't find much info about it on the web. I also don't know if something like this will work with my Qwet concentrates. I am making some nice shatter and wax, but I don't know if these are just for oil or what.

Anyway, I like the throw away aspect and the idea of not having to take flowers, grinders, etc with me. So, does anyone have any suggestions for something like this? I get totally confused by pens and have never owned one. All my concentrate consumption is done with a nail and rig.

The disposables from dispensaries use the e-juice style liquid tanks. The way they get these tanks to work with hash oil is by cutting it with the same inert liquid that is in e-juice. Some people are OK with this, I find I can't really achieve a decent buzz with one, period. I would definitely try one at home before relying on it in a vacation scenario!

I think most people find the e-cig/pen universe to be baffling, you certainly aren't alone there! I personally would recommend an exposed coil "one hitter" set up. You could even invest in a better than disposable one, It is only the little heater that gets dirty, and they are meant to be replaced.

I think the 'Sticky Wax Burner Pens' could fit the bill. You can get a pack with 1 battery/2 carts/charger on ebay for ~$28...pretty small and they work pretty damn well actually.

Whats your budget? Some people would consider $100 easy to toss while others would have issues losing a $20 pen.

I was looking on Ebay and there seem to be a ton in the $10-30 range. It's not a deal breaker if it's not "disposable" I would bring it back if I really like it. I'm a legal patient, but of course the Mormons don't really care about that!

I also understand that it might be a bad idea to rely on something for a vaca that I have no experience with. I keep going back and forth on this whole pen issue!

Well... the W9 Omicron Lite is a badass little unit, and it now comes with a KISS cart (exposed coil load as you go style with ceramic wick). And its only $60. Probably not enough to ruin your day if you drop it on the lift however if it survives itll be gear that is worth keeping around.

Plus for stuff like this its always good to get the simpler solution. Doesnt get much simpler than that in terms of concentrate pens. Only downside is that youll need to reload after every couple of dabs.

Edit: you can probably run a KISS cart off of a cheap ego battery if u get a threading adapter... however the cart is $20+ by itself.

I used a ceramic exposed coil atty in Vegas for a couple days. Worked great sat around playing blackjack puffing on errl. Reloading was a pain every now and then but not too bad.

For less then 5$ a piece, just toss it before you come home. I have ran over 3 grams through this cart and it's still goin strong only had to clean it once or twice so far too.

Man, I need to learn more about pens. Or not, shit makes my head spin. Anyway, I just had a thought that I'll change my flight from SLC to Denver! Then I don't have to worry about bringing meds and it would be fun to hit up a legal cannabis store. Stock up for the weekend with all kinds of fun goodies, lol.

i second the liquidized oil. you can get reg ecig stuff way cheap. eGo battery and a carto/clearlmizer is $20-$25.

that doesnt take into account for the oil/liquid, but you wouldnt be throwing that away so.

I played around with a few pens (cheaper ones and more expensive) and liked the ThermoVape Dart/Revolution products (with the ceramic as opposed to mica wick and exposed coil) and found all the other ones I couldn't stand the taste ... but maybe I just didn't get the right one or my expectations were too high)

While on vacation in the summer, I used a TV Dart with a little battery pack for little quick hitters while out and about during the day with my family, but had my MiniVAP w/ me for when I was back at home base (hotel or whatever).

Since having my Ascent, I haven't touched my pens. I pre-load a bowl in the Ascent before I go, and if I need to vape while out and about nobody seems to even give me a sideways glance (unless they get too close and get a whiff ) ... standing amongst smokers always provides good cover for when you're in more volatile areas/situations (and the smokers are not going to tell on you, after all, the habit they partake in is frowned upon worse than cannabis these days in most/many circles depending on the demographic ... they can empathize with you trying to get away to take care of your needs while being relatively discrete)

I dont care how potent you herb is and what portable you have, you arent going to get more discrete than a concentrate pen. Every job has its proper tool.

You're correct ... it is more discrete ... but the Ascent is discrete and portable enough for my needs, and with the price of good quality concentrates in Canada being around $60/gram ... if I can vape flowers at $7/g avg that's a much better price point. (sorry for not qualifying my post)

Edit: I still have my concentrate pens and keep concentrate on hand for when ultra discretion is required (as well as for the THC punch in the face that a good shatter can give you when you want that little extra )

@Tstat , you will be amazed at how easy a pen vape is. I agree with @Puffers on this. Those will do great for you, and you can easily throw the heater part away before going home. It will probably take you 10 minutes, and about 6 hits with it, for you to master loading, hitting, and determining your ideal "dosage" (number of hits to achieve needed results).

The only caution I have, is don't try to drown the heater coil (with concentrate). You'll be golden

I have the cera eo, but you'd cry if you lost that.

I also have had great luck with the gentlemans vape v2 vapes. Really cheap IMO and you just plop up to half a gram in. Done. They are wickless as well.

And they use replaceable coil heads so you wouldn't have to throw away the whole pen on your way home, the coil head holds a few hits at a time which is nice and it has uses ego threading so if you already own an ego battery your good to go.

O-Pen Vape will run you $45 with a 150mg cartridge and most recreational shops out there will have them. Super discrete.

Buy a cheap 510 battery and a glass globe with a spare head or 2. Or stainless cartomizers if you wanna pack a lot at a time and use a lighter to reposition the oil occasionally.

$25 investment you can always resell or pass on.
