Would also recommend keeping everything stinky in airtight containers (eg weed, used glass, devices etc), and washing the containers inside and out regularly if possible. I keep my dirty device parts in a glass tupperware that gets run through the dishwasher every time I clean, and most my devices are in smellproof / airtight bags.I'm resurrecting this thread.
I can't smell anything. Long story. But I think it's relevant for context. I can't determine whether there is a need for "smell mitigation", and I can't tell if it's working. I'd also prefer not to look like I'm trying hard. Hence no desire to suddenly start doing things out of character, like burning candles or incense, or buying a large air purifier. (The Neutralizer might be a low key option.)
I'm trying to follow some of the above recommendations that fit "for me". Clean my gear quickly after use. Keep smelly stuff (or, for me, what I *assume* to be smelly) in a container when possible. DHV. Sploofy Pro 2 to be acquired.
So does anyone use other natural options that give off a masking smell but that are subtle? Maybe a new box to hold gear that is freshly made out of cedar? Or a key/change dish made out of something else that's pleasant?
I guess I'm going to have to trust you with anything I might get. I don't have a good person to say "hey, does this smell bad?"

I am not viewing these as mutually exclusive. Hopefully I can do better in cleaning and containing, but also to have something natural as a possible cover up. (Keep in mind I can't smell if *any* of this is even necessary!)Potpourri and cedar would probably help, but in my experience it’s best to try and contain smells and clean smell sources rather than cover up.
I will keep these steps in mind, but I will probably only resort to this level of effort if someone calls me out for the smell. Absent that I would probably start to think (ok, acknowledge) that I'm going over board.Could also try boiling vinegar or making a simmer pot every so often, acids work wonders for mitigating smells. I’d do an acid heavy simmer pot (fresh citrus, splash of vinegar, sugar and aromatics) at least once a week when I shared an airway with a neighbour who thought they were being sneaky by smoking inside with the windows closed, lights and fans off.
I'm intrigued. How do you use them? In my search for aromatic woods for boxes, etc. for my desk (covered in another thread), I found oud is an aromatic wood. Are you using oud shavings in pot pourri?I use a mixture of oud and amyl, but I have a very particular use case.
I expect your answer isn’t intended for me (at least solely), but I wish I could!Another tip is check your vape if it has smell.
no not particularly you, but wondering if that was a post-COVID reaction?I expect your answer isn’t intended for me (at least solely), but I wish I could!
Nope. I had Covid and didn’t lose taste or smell. I later had a TBI and immediately lost smell, and a few months later lost taste (other than what one’s tongue can distinguish, which are salty, sweet, sour, bitter and savory/umami). It’s been years.no not particularly you, but wondering if that was a post-COVID reaction?
+1 for Ozium. I'm lucky enough I dont need to cover the aroma often, but when I do, it has never failed me!I've tried multiple things over the years and Ozium Vanilla is the king and is all I've bought the last 6 months. My wife is a super smeller and super taster and that is the only thing that removed the skunk smell within a few minutes where she said she only smelled vanilla on return. That sold it for me. The Ozium orange citrus scent is by far the best smelling, but it does not initially cover the smell as well as the vanilla one. There's also the original scent and outdoor essence but they give me a headache and per my wife are not as quickly effective as the vanilla.
There's also a car one I think called carbon black or something which I have a small can of and spray in the car when I get out if I had any sessions in there. It works well in the sense I can't smell anything bad when I get in the next time, but I don't know how fast it takes effect and initially masks the smell before destroying it.
For heavier smells I use an ozone generator to treat a whole room but you can't go in for a few hours after.
