Probably. Just clean out the bottom air hole (I'm assuming that's where it leaked from) with a hot paperclip or needle. Don't push hard and stop when you feel resistance. Your paperclip shouldn't need to go very deep. If need be you can do the same from the top down for a clog.

Also don't leave those in a hot car. If you read the product directions it actually says not to store in places over 80*F. You now know why.

I've been looking for a while. Finally got one but it doesn't have the draw to pull the Gold out.

If the pg is too thick to draw up, you probably just need a wider gauge tip.

Haywood, thanks for the advice. I definitely understand all of that, was using cheap stick type batteries so its no big loss. Just figured I'd put that out there to give folks a warning.

I've been dreaming of a way to have a super stealth way to enjoy cannabis. I just found out about EJMix from Liquidizer and am beyond ecstatic.

After many hours of reading, I have settled on the following setup:

-GotVapes Sapphire Bud Atomizer v5

-Vision Spinner Variable Voltage 450mah


That was almost perfect for me. I needed a super stealth setup that could easily slip into my pocket or bag with the cart/tip protected. The one thing that was missing was the cover for the cartomizer. After searching around on the net, I was able to locate two sources for the cover/cap. Unfortunately both sources are international (China and UK).

The first source I found (and the one I ordered) is Ecigaretteb2c.com. The cover and cap are only $5, but shipping to the states was $25.

The other source for the cover/cap that I found is VapeHit. They are based in the UK, and the total with shipping to the states was closer to $40.


You'll notice, this cover/cap is slightly different then the one posted on the Aussie site. The one from Australia is tapered, it does not allow the top cap with pen clip to be screwed onto the cover. From what I've found, the tapered cover is called "VGO Cone", where the one with the screw on cap is called "EGO Cone".

For me, having that top cap was essential, I want to put it in my pocket and not worry about it getting dirty or anything getting into it. Plus, I think it adds to the stealth factor slightly. I'm hoping the cover/cap I get does NOT have the "BUD" logo on it. I see it on the kits, but not on the individual covers. Having the word "BUD" on it kind of takes away from the fact I don't want people to know what's in there! I know their "BUD" is short for Buddy...but still! If it has it, it will either be removed or covered up. Will update when I receive it.

Also, Ecigarretb2c.com also has starter kits for the Bud Ecig, but I wanted a different battery so I didn't go that route.






So once again, thanks to everyone here. Having THC ejuice in an ecig really is a game changer for me. Can't wait to take this thing to my next concert!

It is a little ridiculous to pay $25 shipping for a $5 part. But honestly, if this set up allows me to vape in public with no one knowing, I'd be willing to pay multiple times more then I did.

Note that the clip caps are designed to fit those particular atomizers. Not sure about them fitting the slimmer Sapphire carts, if that is what you are looking for. I believe e-cig atomizers are generally stockier than the Sapphires.

Just wanted to say that my Sapphire cartomizer is working great so far. Instant vapor on demand and a great size. Anxious for my cover/cap to come in to complete the package.

I've been running two types of PG through the same Sapphire's for over a month now (3+grams each) without leaks or problems...although pulling and replacing the little plug has helped a couple of times when it was hard to draw.

Pure Gold and Pure Gold Plus (same as PG, but with the terpines left in so it has a different flavor/taste). Same % THC.

Cali MM patients can order direct from manufacturer (Tetralabs.com) but you used to have to specify that you wanted the PG+ as it wasn't on the "menu". I see they also service Washington patients.

Still confused on what exactly i need or what its called. Is the Sapphire v5 just the tank by itself? I see different recommendations for batteries in this thread. With the lowest voltage or adj voltage being recommended.

But the GotVapes website is showing a complete pen with battery. Does the complete pen have a different name?

If i do find someone selling the product, whats a standard price so i know that im not getting butt raped for lack of knowledge?

@GetToTheChoppa, what you'll need are two basic items:

-Cartomizer
-Battery

A cartomizer is basically just a tank with an atomizer in it already. Every e-cig device will have some type of atomizer in it.

When you buy the Sapphire from GotVapes, all you're buying is the cartomizer. The pictures on the website are a little confusing, since they used to sell a kit with the Sapphire that came with a battery and a protective sleeve over the cartomizer. The complete set and other accessories are no longer available from GotVapes. If you look at the 7th and 8th pics down on the website, you can see what you get with your purchase. You get 2 cartomizers (only 1 in the pic), 2 nipples for refill bottles, and 2 mouthpieces for the cartomizers.

There are 2 main types of threading that I've come across in the e-cig world so far, eGo and 510. eGo threading is larger then 510. If you look at the pic below, you can see the eGo threading on the outside, and the 510 threading on the inside.

Most eGo batteries I've come across have the eGo threading on the outside, and 510 on the inside.

Some cartomizers use the 510 theading, some use the eGo threading.

For the Sapphire cartomizer, it used the inside 510 threading. You can then screw on a protective cover (as seen in the pics on GotVapes) over the cartomizer using the eGo threading. However, this part is very difficult to procure, I've only found it in China and the UK so far.




I bought a pack of Sapphires last week and have been enjoying them so far. Went to order some more and noticed they're sold out. In the interim, I was going to sample the Aspire E-PEN BDC cartomizer.

Looks like it's comparable to the Sapphire, and it has a pen style cap.

If anyone's tried it yet, please let me know how it worked.


As far as batteries go, just get anyone that has both eGo and 510 threading. I picked up a Vision Spinner 450 mah. The mah basically just tells you how much juice is in the battery. The larger the mah, the longer it will last, but the battery will also be larger. I picked up the 450mah version mainly for it's size. Haven't tested it out too long, but so far it seems a charge lasts a day or two. Plenty long enough for me.

Im currently in Orange County Ca, and will be doing a lot of driving. Is there a big vapor store i can just drive to and pick up something good for the Pure Gold? Im really digging this idea i would actually like a pen for dry herbs too. (i realize i have to put in some research)

While in Vegas this past weekend we Yelped and found an awesome vapor store, but they didnt sell Got Vapes products. The cartomizer had those big thick threads. He told me to use a thicker type of oil i would have to dilute it. Screw all that. He was offering other options but none of the words really made any sense.

Just kept thinking i cant wait to get advice from the FC forum.

Glad I could help. I understand completely how confusing the e-cig world is. I just dove into it a week or two ago. It's hard because there's so much info spread out in so many different places. And so many versions/knock offs too.

I do plan on ordering some of the Aspire EPEN BDC cartos soon, will report back after I try them.


As far as a vapor store in OC, can't help you there. The odds of finding a specific cartomizer are probably pretty low. What I'd do if I were you, stop into several vapor stores, and just find a "Bottom Coil" cartomizer. Both the Sapphire and Aspire EPEN are bottom coil cartomizers (the EPEN is actually a dual bottom coil, hence BDC). The person there should be able to steer you towards a bottom coil of some type that should get you through your trip.

A bottom coil carto has the atomizer at the base of the tank. It won't have the large wicks at the top of the tank. I think the issue with the wick on top type, is our mixtures often don't wick up that well and foul the wicks quickly. You shouldn't have to dilute your Pure Gold, I think it has a low enough viscosity (but I've never used it, just based off FC posts). You only have to dilute if you're making your own e-juice from some BHO. In that case, you can use EJMix from Liquidizer. I'm still experimenting, but so far a 30% EJMix concentration seems to work well for me.

In fact PG's low viscosity is an issue with most carts because of leakage. Until the Sapphire I haven't seen a cheaper refillable cart that doesn't have a PG leakage issue. Maybe somebody else knows of one.

PG sells it's own Pen and carts (single use) for it, but I've heard leakage is sometimes an issue there too.

I was able to grab a setup today from a smoke shop. You guys would laugh. I prolly bought thee absolute worse bottom coil cartomizer i could. Its big, waaaaay too big!! Not sure what i was thinking. That was the problem i wasnt thinking. Once again in too much of a hurry. I yelped a good smoke shop on my route and wanted to at least have something that worked. Selection of smoke shops here at home sucks big time.

I told him i was looking for an adj battery. He had a 900mah Ego CTwist i think its called. Supposedly on special so i was like ok lets do it. But the cart is gigantic. Im talking its MIN level is 1ml. The freakin Pure Gold cartridge itself is only 0.5ml right? Thats where i messed up. Didnt hit me till i was at work and thinking of the purchase. Kinda got pissed at myself when i finally had the cartomizer and Pure Gold recharge both in my hands thinking whooops!!!

So anyway thanks for all the help!! Im thinking i should at a tiny bit of liquid to the Pure Gold to up its volume. While in a smoke shop in Vegas the guy showed me a clear bottle of something he said i could get from CVS to thin out the Pure Gold. Cant remember the name. Any suggestions?

Will chalk this up to a learning experience. I was able to finally medicate with Pure Gold. Whats funny is it makes me cough like a mofo!! Im a daily smoker of almost 20 years now and i never cough. But the Pure Gold at 3.4v and using a 1.8olm dealio tickles my throat.

Was gonna ask....my cartomizer came with 1.8, 2.0, and 2.2olm atomizers. I put in the 1.8. For future knowledge what should i have chosen?
