Yes, that is certainly good news from the Federal Government. I just saw an old interview with Obama in which he said "Well, I really don't want my Justice Dept" making marijuana violations a priority. They have MUCH more important things to do!" (I'm quoting from memory.)
So then when I read the news I was really impressed that he followed through with what he had said. I'm not 100% for everything he does but he sure gets my vote on this one! (I'm assuming he had some influence over the decision making.)
With the local L.A. City attorney here lately trying to shut down medical marijuana dispensaries, it will be interesting to see how this pans out. And what about the Feds fighting growers up in Mendocino and Humboldt? I hope this means that sh*t will STOP.
Now, with Ahnuld as Governator, and former Governor Jerry Brown as Attorney General (a very liberal and sensible guy), I think there is real hope for decriminalizing marijuana state wide, not just medical marijuana. Let's hope!
