Like going in for annual doc visit and hit a couple off the MZ for a nice blood pressure lowering, calming effect and still plenty alert.
Why would you want your doc to think that you have lower blood pressure than you actually do?
Haha good point there
Maybe because what he is using before going to the doctors office in order to bring down blood pressure is also what he prefers to use on a daily basis rather than harsh chemical drugs

Also, once you are "diagnosed" with high blood pressure, and treated for it, it is on your medical record and makes getting or changing health insurance more difficult and expensive.

Rick, question about using the Flax Oil on the MZ. I use Barleans unfiltered organic Flax Oil for cooking and shakes and what not. I keep it refrigerated to keep it fresh. Is this fine to use on it? Thanks!

Your flaxseed oil will work fine. It is all the same stuff.

Iwien
Wthanna has it. Constant herb use keeps my blood pressure down OK(with very light dose of HP meds). So my going to the Doc with vaped medicine does the same for my BP but keeps me on top of Doc communication, etc as opposed to smoking.

Good old medical records. When you pay a new premium every year for private health insurance, the high deductible kind($12,000 deductible), you want just a checkup with good results or no Dr visit at all. That way you can keep your annual rate increase to about 15-20%(Blue Shield). If you have a cough or a torn ligament or ANYTHING new, rates will go up even more. Best system in the world my ass. Just like homeowners and car insurance, make a claim and get dropped or giant rate increase. Two more years to Medicare. Pat is on it now and it is great. She finally got all those tests done we could not afford before Medicare and she is fine. Yes, off topic.

Thanks for the review. Keep 'er on as Iwien said. They like to be "broke in" and will run a bit warmer with time.

After a couple days with the Mytlezap I'm even more impressed. I'm getting huge vapor clouds and the amount of herb I'm using has been cut in half. It is very important to grind the herb fine and pack properly. The little wood packing tool supplied with the MZ works nice.

The can coozy idea works great! I scrounged a beer can coozy made from 1/4 inch neoprene that fits good, leaving on the MZ for 5 mins bumps the temp up enough to give thicker, more visible hits that provide sedation from an indica, if that is what you are looking for. Leave the coozy off for a head high. Two vapes in one! I really don't feel the need to go back to the bong, unless I'm in the mood to splurge with the stash and enjoy the luxury of some lung busting hits. This is a really great little vape.

Rick...I love the flower caps you use to diffuse oil, etc. Do you sell these seperately?

:ninja: had my mz for couple weeks. tip for car use: you've warmed your unit at home, transferred to vehicle and partaken. Now its time to park. Wrap you unit in a small towel. When I came back to the car 2 hours later, mz was extra hot. made for easy get-away.

it is true what they say about the unit getting warmer as time goes on. when i first started using it, i didn't have much visible vapor. situation has improved dramatically. the unit has been well received by friends, who've never heard of it.

fresh material tastes amazing. the whole experience feels more like a controlled experiment. your definitely on one, but still have clarity of mind.

one of my observations with vaporizing is that it seems to bring out the highest potential in whatever urb your consuming. average material suddenly becomes noteworthy and your able to appreciate whatever positive traits it possess.

Yes, I suppose we do. I say suppose because when a customer wants a replacement aroma flower for one reason or another, we send them one at no charge. They are kind of special and Pat makes them 100%. For some reason it is hard to put a price on them.
You would need to be sure one would fit on whatever you want to use it on. I have no clue if they would fit a competing product, except the Eterra which they would fit.

Thanks for the reviews. They do the job for sure. And vapor is different for sure. We appreciate your comments and all comments here on the AZ/MZ thread.

Long time zap fan here, though must admit I've been considering switching. The zap is a good friend of mine and I believe it is one of the best vapes on the market. I am however tempted for only one other vaporizer, the Vrip Heat Wand, simply because it is glass on glass, is temperature adjustable, is water filtrated, and heats up in minutes. However, the downside to that best alternative, is the fact that it seems that more herb is consumed per session, which troubles me as a budget conscious vaper (I don't understand why people say "vake," it is truly an ugly word - no offense). This downside is enough for me to stick with my good buddy the Aromazap. I can overlook the long heatup time, the copper heating point, and the lack of temperature adjustment, but water filtration is something I really value.

In the past I have attempted to water filtrate with thin tubing inserted into the stem, run through a plastic soda bottle, which was surprisingly effective, yet not as elegant as I would have liked. I did this for maybe a week and it was great, but way too clunky. I don't really enjoy the hot air aspect of the pulls from the zap, but I love the zap, so I would like to make this work somehow in a more permanent fashion.

I'm not sure if there is a good way that someone has achieved doing this, but if so, I would be most interested in any ideas about how it can be done effectively. Ideally, the fantastic Aromazap team would implement this into their next generation design.

Hey karazi,

Check out 7th floor. They have water filters and the tubing they supply fits the vapor tube perfectly. I have one that I've used a couple of times with my Iolite, but haven't used it with my Zap yet. I have young kids running around so I cannot use it until they're down for bed. By that time I'm too lazy to get the water filter from the garage, and if I do get it I'll be too medicated to put it back. Damn vicious cycle.

Anyhoo, check 'em out and good luck.

I still think folks are not giving the adjustable lip lock on the stem thing a little extra time. After awhile it gets automatic, letting a little outside air in while you at the same time draw vapor through the stem.
I also understand some have extra sensitive throats.
Karazi
We leave the new product development to others. I think it is cool there is stuff available out there to help you cool your vapor. We just do not get that many requests in that area. Once in awhile the small hole in the stem handle maybe but that's about it. And thanks for the good words on Zaps. You probably have an old softwood Aromazap? Not turned?

Thanks so much Reece for your post. I don't think I could possibly ask for more than those reservoirs, although I'd gladly look into any other recommended solutions. Can't comment on the kids as I'm not quite there yet, but I'd imagine a centrally located removable floorboard might do the trick, or perhaps inside a statue of some sort.

Thanks for the reply also Rick, glad to hear from you. You are spot on, I am the proud owner of a square softwood oldschool zap, my second or third, I forgot, though I plan on upgrading to a luxurious round MyrtleZap in the near future. I understand that extra features may ultimately take away from the essence of the Aromazap, as well as drive up the cost. I appreciate your commitment to the original design, and cannot wait to get my hands on a MZ. For now I will probably go for one of the products in Reece's links and enjoy my zap to the fullest.

Ia! Ia! Vapor Fthagn!
got too spend most of the day yesterday with the Myrtlezap. Can say I did like it. It is slightly different from what I am used too, but not much. Was much smaller than I thought it would be... for some reason I thought it would be thicker than it was. My friends MZ size is somewhere between a can of soda and a can of redbull. the only thing I didn't like about it was the length of the tubes. A centimeter or more would have suited me better. but other than that. Great product Rick, my friend totally loves his, as does his father. (he got two from you, one for him and one for his dad)

The diameter of our units varies between 2 7/16" and 2 9/16". That is because some of the wood I get is so very close to my minimum diameter spec and in fact is below it a tad. So with much care we can still get a Zap out of it. Some are a bit shorter too, closer to 4 1/4". I like them about 4 1/2" for standard height. Standard Aromazaps are all at the larger diameter because I mill my own wood for those. And yes, we still sell a few of those regularly.

The Myrtles at minimum diameter are often some of the nicest grain art we have.
Anyone want to try stems a bit longer, Email me. We do custom stuff all the time.

I've been away from the forum for awhile. The hammock magnet was set on high, and then I got tangled up in the long extension cord leading from the house to my hammock-side Zap.

I have one or two comments on what I've read on the past 4 or 5 pages of posting.

1. As an Old Fart I often find myself quoting Whitman to many of my young friends, "Do I contradict myself? Very well, I contradict myself. I am large. I contain multitudes." Life is complicated and its messy. Take what comfort you can when you can and how you can. Right, Rick?

2. All relationships are based on economics. We trade in Time and Energy. I invest Time and Energy in my family, my work, my friends. Sometimes the return is greater than the investment. Sometimes not. When there is greater return, the term used is "slack". It means I get some "slack time", and my friends are probably more inclined to "cut (me) some slack". After everything is said and done, isn't that what we all want?

Be happy.

BTW, I love my Zaps.

I was blown away by this vid in the PD thread (thanks DJDIZZY) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CyUO5o4HIw), and would realllly like to know if this is possible with the Zap. The two units are so similar my guess is yes, but I've never tried a PD so I don't know if the stems are different diamater than the Zap stems. Any light shed on this would be greatly appreciated!

Edit (a few days later):
Has not even one person tried this? I see much potential, though I am not sure if it would be a flush connection between stem and bowl piece, but I think a rubber washer on the stem might do the trick.

The EHLE shipped on 9/3 so as soon as I get it and test it out I will let you guys know. I'm guessing tho it should work with either fine.

You just don't stop, do ya Madcap. While I totally agree that the Zap would be able to do that just as well as the PD, you're comment that it could do it better is totally unfounded.

Both of these vapes are great and I doubt that either one can do anything better than the other.

I agree and I had a similar reaction when I read the post. Responding only helps to perpetuate it.

But since that train has left the station. Madcap, you have to be aware that you are choosing words which will probably start the BS again. It is truly sad that (supposed) adults cannot rationally discuss these two products. It's like fighting over the best loaf of bread. But that is the reality, and you are not helping.

The only reason that I responded Reece is because there are others who come here looking for valid information and when I see something that has no validity whatsoever, I feel compelled to respond even though it may perpetuate this ongoing bullshit.

I've had my unit for several weeks now and I thought I'd provide some additional feedback.

First, I am very happy with it! The more I work with it, the more I like it. I have tried about every tip listed to find the best combination of things that work for me, and now I am really getting good results.

My first adjustment to get much better vapor was to slow down my inhale. I mean SLLLOOOOWWW. If you think you are going slow, that is a good starting place...now slow it down some more and that should be about right. I was surprised at what a difference draw speed made.

Also, I haven't read about his before, but I noticed a significant difference in the heat of the unit when I stopped using the aroma flower each time I wasn't using the unit as a vaporizer. Since I got it, I had been putting the flower in after each use as a vaporizer (it's just so pretty and smelled good too!) Then about a week ago I spaced off and forgot to put the flower back in when I got done. When I went back a few hours later to hit it again, I noticed significantly healthier hits. It seemed like the heat had been pushed up a bit. Then I started thinking about heat dissipation and possible heat loss....so I started playing with that. After a week of testing vapor from the unit when the flower had been in, and when it hadn't - I found that when I don't use the flower, the unit appears to retain heat better and produce thicker vapor. I get the same results if I wait about an hour after removing the flower to hit it.

I did try the cozy idea and didn't like it at all. After I took the cozy off, the unit was so hot I couldn't touch it. That can't be good for it! For me, it didn't make enough of a difference in performance to make it worth the time or trouble.

The unit is great and I'd love to find some myrtle wood to play with carving or whittling some kind of lid or cap for the top of the unit. I envision an inverted bowl or shot-glass shaped piece that would just cover the hardware and create stealth without the heat loss.
