Any "professionals" or "executives" vape daily?

I feel a bit out of place at times and have even considered stopping. My group of marijuana enthusiast friends
are real deal stoners with no jobs. They're my friends and I love them to death. But I think to myself, maybe I should stop.. I don't want to become one of them.

I'm pretty stubborn so please excuse me if I'm already sounding like a douche.

I'm very particular about whom I smoke with. Not because I hate sharing, but I hate when people get to the point where they're "stuck" or in other words, pretty damn stoned. I hate feeling unproductive. I like to vape because it helps me open up in social situations and relax.

Though, I have this mindset about marijuana from family and what I learned in school, so there's times when I feel like I'm doing something not particularly right.

I've graduated from college 2.5 years ago and have been working at the same company ever since. I vape daily and go through about 4 grams a month. I also spend a lot of time trail running. In the end, I feel like I'm doing something right.. but then again.. who knows.

Sorry for the rant all. Looks like the mid-life crisis came 25 years too early..

I started teaching about a year and a half ago fresh out of college. I was vaping every day for a while until I started asking myself the same questions as you.

I have always loved mj and it has never really effected my day to day life but I still felt a bit weird about using ever day.

I ended up cutting down to weekends only, mainly any night that I was not working the next day and I have loved the change. I sleep better, my mind is more clear, I use MUCH less bud than I used to and I enjoy it more when I allow myself to do it.

IMO, if you feel like you should do something, go for it. Wrong and right are very fluid ideas and all that matters is what you want and what you need.

I see what the OP is saying. I vape everyday. I am in the fire protection industry. I used to have friends that were stoned all day every day (recreational). Sometimes you need to get away from friends like this and meet other people. Believe me on this, there is ALOT of mmj user in the professional world too. They are just good at hiding it. Obviously these people are not high all day and treat mmj as a reward after work.

Randy: I can't get stoned, Ricky.
Ricky: What do you mean? It's shitty work. Everybody does that, all right? Carpenters, electricians, dishwashers, floor cleaners, lawyers, doctors, fuckin' politicians, CBC employees, principals, people who paint the lines on the fuckin' roads, get stoned, it'll be fun, get to work! Oh, and this is the most important, go down to the Shit-Mart. I need a bag of chicken chips. If they don't have chicken, get me dill pickle. And I want a chocolate milk.

Yes, I am a stoner and over 60 years of age. Yes, I'm a professional with a bunch of letters after my name. Yes, it did take me a bit longer than a lot of my peers and colleagues to collect those letters because I was stoned a lot and always found other things to interest me besides the latest research on yada yada yada...
But! maybe for the sake of this discussion the word "professional" might need defining or clarifying. In my youth it meant you not only had a post-grad degree, but also found work in that field of study; doctors, lawyers, CPAs, teachers. Professionals had their own vocabulary and their own code of ethics. Now I hear and read people calling themselves "professionals"...bartenders, bus drivers, your barista down the road.
I'm not being elitist. Maybe I am just being old. But what determines whether you call yourself "professional" or not?
To the point at hand...I vape every night while trying to remember the names of all the constellations I can see from my verandah (and used to know), or at least staring in awe at the immensity of the sky. During the day I have a lot of people to carry on my shoulders and depending on the day's workload and type of work I may or may not partake.
Peace.

By professional, I think of someone with a white-collar, (generally) salaried position, that requires a certain level of education/experience.

I think the OP might be using the term to refer to people with regular jobs, families, and other hobbies, besides mj? his reference to his "stoner" friends seems to lump mj use with idle bums.

How the hell do these people afford mj, anyway? (rhetorical, please don't answer)

I am an IT professional in a HOSPITAL and yes I use it daily. Cannabis won't "hold you back" like your "real deal stoner" friends. Those are the kind of people who would hold themselves back even if cannabis didn't exist. They'd do it with games, or TV, or alcohol. Its a personality thing not a side effect of cannabis.

I have been trying to cut back on vaporizing during my shifts, but not because I can't work, just as a time to reduce tolerance really. I've been hitting an ecig with CBD tincture when I have the urge to vape but no real medical NEED to vape. I could benefit from vaping 24/7 but my life doesn't allow me to be in a half unconscious state and still do my job. Instead I take a few quick hits here or there on the firefly as needed and save the rest for later.

Not long ago I would vape 2-3 bowls during my 8 hour shift and never had any problems, other than the paranoia that maybe someone would notice. There is nothing to notice though, I have a tolerance and don't get red eyes or do stupid things etc. Just the inherent paranoia of "THEY KNOW" makes me want to save the herb for after work, but as I'm typing this I'm about to take a few hits off the firefly.

Its all about responsibility and motivation. If you have those 2 things to start, cannabis can never slow you down. Perfect example: I race my car better while on cannabis (closed professional track, not street racing). Now I don't mean power sessions, I mean 1-3 light hits which isn't enough to feel psychoactive effects for me. It keeps me calmer and less jittery/anxious. It improves my launches and keeps me from having a senseless panic attack. Basically it allows me to keep one of my major hobbies that would otherwise be ruined.

Haven't been in a while, but I had an evo until someone tboned it. Got a 135i now. Just the drag strip, nothing special just casual fun, but important to have hobbies. I am NOT content sitting home getting high EVERY DAY. Its fine to do every day, but don't make it the only thing you do and it won't be a problem.

Well, that pretty well sums up my position as well. Your points regarding motivation and responsibility echo to me; but for me I lack enough of those two qualities to be able to vape before or during my shifts. I'm sure it's different for everyone but for me I end up in a haze of thoughts and can't operate as concisely. But when I'm off work I'm vaping constantly.

My employer wouldn't hesitate a second to fire me if they were to find out about my "life style". I swear that I wouldn't have made it as far as I have professionally had it not been for cannabis. How F'd up is that? BTW, I work in a fairly high level medical profession.

Professional. My wife would be intolerable without cannabis.

Ha, ha. Hmm, maybe my subconsciousness crying out. She left me for a guy on a Harley. However, I wouldn't have a basement garden had she stayed. Counting my blessings:tup:

I'm a senior IT pro in the financial sector and vape daily, especially since hurting my back 2 months ago. Sometimes (okay, maybe too often) I vape or otherwise consume cannabis during the work day to deal with the pain. Not sure why, but vaped cannabis seems to work better for my pain than combusting it.

@darkrom - I've been thinking about trying a CBD tincture in a ecig. What do you think of it? Any health benefits? I've read of so many it is hard to know what to believe.

IDK about CBD tincture health benefits. I don't hit the pen hundreds of times a day, and the one I have is like 150 mg per bottle 1 bottle has filled the cart a few times now, so the dose must be pretty damn small per "session" with the cbd pen. It really just fulfills the urge to vape and lets me lower my tolerance that way I guess.

I never vape while working. It's not that I can't think things through, but I find there are too many details when I am doing an analysis for me to keep track of when lifted. The one time I tried it I ended up doing some of it over again later, which is a wast of good work time and good play time.
