Anvil by Vestratto

Curious if there's an alternate stem option that still allows the Anvil to fit in the utility tube (without the XL cap), bonus if it can still function on a 14mm joint, but I have the WPA coming soon, so not super necessary there, but it'd be nice.
I might not of understood that just right but do u mean like the USA adapter to be able to have a anvil on a DynaVap stem or something dedicated to the anvil sry buddy I didn’t understand.

I've seen people use wooden stems that didn't look like they required the USA. It looked like it just worked in place of the regular heatshield somehow, but I could also be wrong in that the USA was used. I'm just looking for artisan style stem options, preferably without the USA required (if that's an option, feel free to share USA stems too- I may get one if needed).

Ya it's Azzwoodcustoms on IG who makes the wood sleeves for the Anvil. He has a website now too if you google him. i'm not sure if it is allowed to post site links, if it isn't a problem then i will link it

Thanks for the suggestions, I'm realizing now I've seen these. They all say that they won't fit the utility tube with the shield on though. I'm trying to avoid hot swapping shields just because I feel like putting it in the utility tube. If I had to do that I'd just never swap back to the artisan stem to keep it convenient, making the new stem useless. I like the look, but I don't want to sacrifice function for form. I may reach out about one that does fit the tube though, thanks everyone!

This is my solution, wood heatshield and matching leather sleeve. The device can be stored still hot inside the sleeve. Perfect combo

For those of you sitting on the side lines wondering whether the Anvil is a worthy purchase, Sneaky Pete created a vapor porn video demonstrating this little marvel's powerful potential, and how to achieve it. It's a good reminder that my OG UE Anvil can easily hold its own against its newer rivals and do it very consistently.

After having this for a couple of weeks, I am still struggling to get it dialed in. i blow one decent cloud, and my material is really light in color, leading me to believe i am heating it too quickly, but regardless of the size torch i use, how big or small the flame is, how closely i hold it, the only way i am getting a deep dark roast is to go in for a second cycle. i have a Dani and get the deep dark roast every time, regardless of what I am doing. Results are the same if I use my Wand. I want to love this thing, but so far, the Dani is winning the reach test for me, and this is an expensive item to keep coming in 2nd place. I have watched videos, etc, and feel like I am doing the same thing everyone else is, but keep getting meh results. anyone in my boat?

I’ll just say how I do it I get it almost combustion.

First do u ride the line and heat on the battery ?

Second is ur flame strong enough?

Third I heat it with the inner flame it kisses the battery

Faster heat up usuaually combusts for me anything between 30 and 40 stop on the first click second should follow within 5 seconds

If not hold the flame a little longer after first click then u dial in ur prefrene.

Thanks for this. yes, i am trying to ride the line on heat, but clearly i am not, given my results. from a flame perspective, I would say yes and no. I have used everything from a basic honest torch that comes with a dynavap to a Ronx torch and get the same result. what are you using for a torch?

Firefox mini is the torch I use but the ronx I believe is how it’s spelt with a longer flame u can ride the line I do sometimes.

There’s some heating/flame tips and recommendations for times on the old Sunday posts. Also cut back air setting can help.

Had the same problem at first. Needed to try 3 different torches before I ordered a bigger one from Amazon. You need power or it won't give you the dark roast

Funny thing is that it seems that cuttng back air flow is contradictory to what the sunday post says. for RTL, it says the airflow should be open?

thanks to all for the help. its amazing how much better this performs when you arent directly under a vent that is spitting out cold air....problem seems to be solved with a Ronx, aiming it low, and no AC blowing down on you...i underestimated how quickly it was helping to cool

There is a lot of variables involved, my understanding the wpa version has no air adjustment only wide open, so you are using your bong draw as the control, there is a different air adjustment between the USA and OG as well different stems. Your torch flame very important, but I mainly use IH and have only the USA version.

This beauty arrived some hours ago and I can't stop playing with it. Is a joy, really nicely machined, almost flawless.
And yes, i'm in! this thing slaps... really baked rn. I'm loving the nice 1-2 min MTL mini sessions it provides, exactly what I was looking for. Flavor way better than expected after reading some comments here. This 2-flame torch is working quite fine, I just aim right to the thermal battery, wait for the 2nd click and I'm getting very consistent results and nice roasted ABV (photo taken with flash). Harshness is just right for me natively, I don't need anything else for cooling. I think I will pick the XL bowl, considering the amount of heat this thing retains. Some minor criticism: it feels quite unbalanced in my hands, and airflow adjustment could be stiffer.
