Angus Enhanced

I mean, compared to what it competes with it’s pretty dang reasonably priced…but I absolutely agree on the body. I love wood, I like the vape of the AE far better than the OG, but the OG sure looked better.

Ordered up a sleeve from @Duba for AE, should make it look good again, but also adds cost obviously.
edit-- what do you mean wood sleeve?

I don't think he said wood sleeve but simply "sleeve". I'm guessing since it's @Duba he's referencing he's talking about a leather sleeve.
you're right i edited my comment above--thanks for catching that. i must have had 2 commenters, i confused for one. lol
i can't find a custom leather sleeve anywhere for sale so i thought he meant a wood one i did not know of.

the shipping would cost more than the sleeve, and the design is a little to extreme for me.
FYI, The worldwide shipping cost only 12€.
As i dye the leather myself, i can do what you'd like. For example, this one was a recent custom order :

Yes, it is a leather sleeve from the shop at Labetkomp. It looks like they have a multi color version in stock for AE (below). I believe they also do custom work, Duba will likely have more info :)
Thank you for the mention. It's true that I don't have many AE sleeves in stock but feel free to ask me (it's the same price as the listed ones)

Wow that's reasonable shipping. on AE is there any leather on the bottom? I hope so or the wrap would slip off right? is there a better way to communicate other than the fc subs. what about fc's dm method?

I noticed some of you remove the CU screen, and just place a capsule in the bowl instead.

Is the airflow better this way? Does using the CU screen with no capsule give worse airflow?

Yeah, I wouldn't call that part a CU but more of a stem holder. It just locks the stem in place and provides a screen on top of the bowl. I removed this screen recently because I've been exclusively using the capsules that are screened so it's redundant. The airflow in both cases is very wide open but I suppose it's ever so slightly more open without that screen when using the capsules.

I will say that the stem holder screen gets really gunked up very quickly so I'm happy that I'm able to remove it and not clean it so often anymore. I suppose all that vapor makes its way into the stem now so at least more of it will make it to my lungs or get stuck in the stem. Either way the airflow is great but I could see how it would suffer if that screen gets clogged.

I can't really compare it to without using the capsules since I've only done that once and that was a while ago. The capsules keep the unit really clean and the airflow is great so I haven't stopped using them.

Thanks mate. I think I'm going to pull the trigger. You've been really helpful.

Glad to help! I hope you enjoy it. It seems to be a real sleeper vape that got overshadowed by the release of vapes like the Tempest, S3 and the Venty.

If you've never had a halogen heater before then you're in for a treat. Bust out that cable and lower the default temps a little and I think you'll dig the flavor. The glass capsules are a really nice touch and they preserve all that flavor while allowing a bit more conduction to a vape that's almost all convection.

I like the AE either native with the WPA and a hook, with the side bubbler dry or wet, or with a full water rig but usually only on higher temps to finish off a bowl if I want that.

I was thinking of getting the bubbler to use dry. Do you find it cools adequately?

EDIT. Agree on the sleeper vape status. I've been in thr market for a fully electric portable for a while. The S3 is too restricted for me, and the Venty is too much of a disaster for me. The Angus Enhanced looks like the best fit on the market for my needs.

I actually had the OG Angus. But I had a terrible experience. The airflow was super restricted, and I could only get it to make whispy vapour. I returned it and presumed it sucked, or it was faulty. I hated the CU anyway.

Yes, exactly that. I think you wanted to quote my message where I was talking about removing the twist-top screen.

Yes, removing that screen made things better since it was getting so clogged quickly. I hope all that tasty reclaim makes it to my lungs instead now. 😋

Yes, the bubbler cools quite nicely even dry. I would lower the default temps and start with that as a cooling solution. You should find it really wide open.

If that's ok, try adding just enough water to cover the diffusion downstem and see if you like that too. It should hardly add much of any restriction.

Did anyone try using a normal usb cable to change the temperature?

I mean any other usb cable (for charging etc.) not the one yll sells as customization tool.

AFAIK it won't work. My expectation is that the programming cable is wired differently as a signal to the device to enter programming mode.

I just drop mine in the ISO with the stem.
Yeah, but I found that screen would get clogged earlier that I wanted to clean my glass. I think the mesh they use is just too fine because it looks dirty after one use. Instead of replacing it I just removed it altogether since I always use the capsules and it seems to work great. I didn't want something in the way that trapped that much honey.
