It's a similar design but now only is 2 pieces. The air box appears to be made out the same ceramic as the mouthpeice and it topped off by a stainless screen.

I like what they did with the X, the few upgrades was nice. I just don’t feel that it delivers like the xs does though. I get better tasting and cooler draws through the X but not dense vapor and lightly golden avb. Then in the xs it seems to pull way heavier vapor production and i get darker more toasty avb at same temps, same nug. Everything internally is the same on both

Hey man, nice Avatar. Reminds me of "Purple Haze", which made me wonder. If I put purple food dye into the bowl and inhale the vapor will it actually be "Purple Haze"?

Hello everyone. I just found this site and joined. I'm not new to Marijuana(50yrs) but I am new to Vaporizers. Well not completely new, as I have tried the Volcano Digital at a friends place maybe a year ago. It was a strange and magical experience, but definetly a big heavy non-portable machine.

I decided that maybe it would be better to get a portable unit as I only want to purchase one and I'm sure the XS will work even better at home than on the road. I got mine from Airvape for $149.00(plus Ca. Tax). I will receive in a few days and give my review shortly thereafter.

I guess I kinda bought the XS to celebrate being able to buy legal marijuana(Ca. Resident) for the first time in 50 years. Haven't bought any legal smoke yet though as I have a pretty good stash already and I'm not a medical MJ person. I am curious tho and will probably go to one of the shops in San Francisco. Put my bike on the train and wahlah I will be in SF in 45 minutes, then probably 10 minutes by bike to store, I already scouted the mission.

I have to say that I am already quite impressed with this site and the people and look forward to further communication and enlightenment for this "Grasshopper". SAYONARA

OK out of the box is it simple to use for a first time vaporizer-dude? Is the manual that comes with it useful? I have great MJ already, but I may go buy my first legal MJ ever in SF next week. I looked on the menu of the place I will go and saw they have HASH and HASH OIL for sale. Geez, that really surprised me, I didn't know the new legalization includes Hash and Hash Oil. Can I put hash and oil in the XS. Finally what's the differance between THC and THC-A? Thanks for taking the time to respond, good karma to you. Sayonara.

9 months ago it was my very first vape as well, it’s had heavy daily usage ever since. Not a problem out of it. Yeah, you should have no problem at all with it. Weather you sip on it or go at like your hitting a bong you’ll get good vapor production either way, even at lower temps. I stay between 355-365 for flavor and feel no need to go any higher honestly with herb. Higher temps you’ll notice the “avb” taste building up half way through the session and i try to avoid that bc i noticed no effect/high difference with lower vs higher temp. I get ripped either way. Yes the manual will be useful when it comes to your mouthpiece. Taking apart, cleaning and re assembling. There’s a little airflow box that sits down in the silicone under the glass mouth piece. It’ll be 3 pieces. The box itself has a metal lid that detached from the top, and a screen that sits under the box facing the inside of the herb chamber. It becomes gunk’d up fairly quick and a hassle to soak and clean every 3-4 days with the usage i was putting it through. So i removed the screen from under neath the box and removed the lid from the box and use it like that and have not had no draw problems since. What i did do is buy a pack of mesh stainless steel screens and do a cut out shape of the bottom of the glass mouthpiece and just let it sit right under it inside of the silicone. If that’s any advice i could give to help, that’d be it. I got the new X model airvape dropped that was just an upgraded xs version. I tore the mouth piece down on it and noticed they also ditched the lid to that flow box and the bottom screen as well. Guess i had a good idea there lol. When i do concentrates i just sandwich it between herb, a layer on bottom/concentrate/layer on top. You can buy a insert pad for the xs online but it’s not had very good reviews, leaks etc..

Well I recieved my Airvape XS around 3pm. I charged and tryed maybe an hour or so later. I already had some very potent marijuana which was already ground up just a little north of Keefe. I use a coffee grinder to get a stash that is ready and put it in a small square tin that could hold 20 cigarettes. Oh yeah, the coffe grinder cost maybe 20 bucks and works great, and have used this method for a few years now.

Anyway now for my review. Started it up, adjusted temp to 397F, it vibrated in my palm and was ready. Smooth as silk, but I'm but a grasshopper here and so I was toking very easy, had about three hits and pronounced the session over. I watched the digital countdown and after about 26 seconds it shut dow. Wow, a lot sure happened in just those three minutes.

Had my supper of hamburger, chips, and a Coke and then went for session number two. I was toking harder and deeper and the three hits I took were all full-bodied vapor clouds. Session over. I have to say I was very impressed, however not surprised by the performance. Would I purchase again? Absolutely. Now I'm wondering just how many 3 toke sessions I'll get with the ammount that I put in the bowl which I filled almost to the top. XS was very smooth, very easy, and sure seems very well built, and damn sure looks great in that metal gray. Thanks all, especially Zzz90 and Vitalo. Sayonara.

Glad to hear back, I’ve been on the lookout for a follow up post from you. You could get quite a few of those 3 hit sessions with a full load. I’d say after your 2nd “3 hit session” the following session wouldn’t be so pleasant at all, even tho your only taking a few easy draws here and there your load will still be warm as the chamber retains heat very well.. Esp around the temp you listed. If it works for you and your satisfied that’s all that matters. But if you do notice what I’m talking about and end up wanting to enjoy the flavor longer, still do the 3 hit session as you mentioned, I’d try cutting the temp down to between 355-365. This vape extracts the goodies very quickly and it was good to help

Thanks so very much for all your help and I will try the lower temp that you suggested. I'm gonna buy my first legal THC sometime next week. I'm gonna go to "The Apothecarium"(3 in SF) at SOMA. I'll put my mt. bike on the train(Cal-Train) and be in San Francisco in 45 minutes, then maybe 15min to their shop. Since I have quite a bit of super-weed already, I gonna look at purchasing Hash or Hash-Oil. I have to say I was quite surprised that Hash and Oil were included in Calif.'s legalization. Most of my life it was always a felony vs. misdemeanor for weed. I'm going to start a thread very soon pertaining to Hash and Hash-Oil, to gather information. That's me always a Marine, scouting the situation. Well I'm sure will be talkin' more down the road. Sayonara.

I must say that the upgrades done on the new X really make this vape a pleasure to use. The changes made are excellent and very well done. Like the magnetic top is genius with the funnel design and the air box is easily cleaned now. The bigger oven is nice and now the timer starts when the temperature is reached. I thought I would miss the clear glass mp but the black ceramic is so sexy I love it! Taste is clean and cool with an easy draw. Unfortunately it doesn't fit into the shell case. Just a bit to thick like someone misplaced a decimal point in production. Otherwise this is state of the art in vape design!

I'm a little worried now that I just ordered the X. I see a few people saying it doesn't get as big of hits as the xs. I have a mighty and just wanted a smaller one to take on the go.. is the X working out ok for you guys?

I had the xs and x both. The only thing i liked about the x was the magnetic mouthpiece tbh. It’s exactly the same as the xs besides the bigger chamber, magnetic mouthpiece, and the few little ceramic pieces that they swapped over the glass/stainless. For me, my experience between both models is night and day. I use my xs on 355-365F and get dense/thick vapor easily, sipping or ripping. With the x i could be on 380F, same herb and not get half the vapor i could with the xs. Vapor is very weak and wispy no matter what i tried. The draw is not as open either and the new ceramic air flow bow is a pain to clean since it’s narrow and a lot deeper then the short stainless one on the xs. Id always have herb stuck to the button of it and restricting my draw bc of the pre drilled holes are very small compared to the xs. Luckily i got the x for $90 bucks with a upgrade code, planned on trying to sell the xs afterwards. Got the x, I loaded it up 3-4 times and then let it go to a long friend of mine as a gift, It just didn’t deliver like the xs does for me in any way. The new ceramic pieces they used in the mouthpiece did help make the draw slightly smoother, that’s the only pro i seen performance wise with the x, hardly noticeable though. The chamber was a lot bigger then what i was use to with the xs and kinda felt the i wasted my herbs each time i loaded the thing. If it hasn’t shipped, I’d say get the xs. It’s been great

Just got off the phone with airvape and they let me change my order to the xs and hard case. I hope it pumps clouds like I've been reading

It’ll pump them. For even more airflow and less having to clean and soak the mouthpiece. You can remove a few pieces of the air flow box assembly they have inside the mouthpiece. I removed the upper lid to the box and then the screen they have under the box. Got mesh screens and i now just do a cut out shape of the bottom of the glass mouthpiece and then i let let it sit right under it inside the silicone right above the now lid-less and screenless air flow box. I mentioned more about it above somewhere if your interested. I only clean them maybe once a month now vs every 2 days with how it comes outta the box. I don’t have to draw long at all now, it feels effortless and the vapor is just right there

I get dense and plenty of vapor at temps from 355-65F with mine. You packing it in pretty tightly?
